"Quick, quick, don't fall behind everyone!" 0
Miao Chengmin stood by the side of the group, waving at his fellow zombies to jog forward like a traffic cop. 0
They were essentially retracing their steps now, with zombies gathering in droves and heading deeper into the forest. No one knew where they were supposed to run; they just kept running as long as they weren't seen by humans. 0
As the group gradually moved on, Miao Chengmin confirmed that there were no stragglers behind him. He patted the bag tied to his waist—the previous sack that held Chaos Crystals had torn, and this was the second one—and jumped up and down in place. 0
"Hopefully, you're sturdy enough." Miao Chengmin looked up and realized he seemed to be too far from the group, so he quickly spread his legs and started running. 0
George intentionally ran at the back of the group, but he couldn't find Miao Chengmin anywhere. He thought Miao had gone ahead and disappeared into the tide of corpses. 0
From above, this scene was incredibly spectacular, resembling an animal migration. A dark mass moved through the forest like a giant sea cucumber crawling slowly over coral reefs. 0
And now, Miao Chengmin was that abandoned black dot. 0
"Hah, hah..." Miao Chengmin realized he could no longer keep up, but he was very tired—perhaps because he had expended too much energy earlier. 0
He couldn't run anymore and slowed down to take a few final steps before stopping, leaning against a tree trunk. However, when he pushed against it with force, the trunk suddenly snapped! 0
"Hiss—" Miao Chengmin frowned; he just wanted to prop himself up—when did I get this strong? 0
Even though zombies had a significant strength boost, it shouldn't be like this. 0
He opened his palm, and scenes of interacting with Chaos Crystals flashed in his mind. Miao Chengmin slapped his forehead. 0
"Ouch!" 0
As a result, he made himself dizzy. 0
After taking some time to recover, Miao Chengmin shook his head and said, "I have the power of Chaos Crystals to spare." 0
Virgil could fly in the air; that was also due to the power of Chaos Crystals. He should be able to do it too. 0
But how does one fly? He hadn't even finished being happy about it when he found himself stumped by his own question. 0
"Uh, like this?" He turned his palm downward but felt it was wrong; then he flapped his arms like a bird—but that was too silly. 0
What good is this ability? Miao Chengmin thought to himself. He glanced at the increasingly distant group and decided to be practical; he took big strides forward while patting the bag at his waist. 0
Strangely enough, when Miao Chengmin pressed down on it, he found it empty. 0
"What?!" Miao Chengmin looked down—his bag had actually torn! 0
"Oh no!" Miao Chengmin shouted; now he was completely panicked as if he had lost something precious on the road—anxious and scared. And in this wild place, where would he find it? 0
Miao Chengmin quickly turned around; he couldn't care less about the group now. If he lost the Chaos Crystals, everything would be over. 0
"Treasure, treasure, where are you... Oh my god, don't scare me!" Miao Chengmin was getting quite angry; his chest felt like it was on fire. He could only blame himself for being too careless and underestimating the weight of the Chaos Crystals. He yanked off the torn bag and slammed it hard onto the ground. 0
"Useless thing! How come you're as useless as me?" Miao Chengmin yelled at the bag lying on the ground. Taking a deep breath and looking at the lush green mountains around him, Miao Chengmin suddenly felt like a deflated balloon sitting on the ground. 0
If such a small mistake could ruin this universe, then Miao Chengmin felt that being torn to pieces would be far from enough punishment for him. 0
He didn't want to be that clown laughed at by history. 0
"Find it." Miao Chengmin gritted his teeth and got back up. 0
He knew what going against the flow meant; if he continued in that direction, encountering humans would be inevitable sooner or later. Of course, Miao Chengmin didn't want such a thing to happen, but now he had no choice but to take this gamble. 0
At sunset, blood-red light filtered through the gaps in the trees while distant bird calls celebrated the stunning sunset. A wild rabbit emerged from its burrow, surveying its familiar forest before hopping over to a fallen log and starting to nibble on grass roots. 0

"Crack, crack..." 0

Little Rabbit's ears instinctively perked up as it paused its nibbling and glanced around. 0

There was nothing in sight. 0

But the sound grew closer, and there was more than one source. 0

Little Rabbit sensed something was off. It placed its front paws on the tree trunk, straining to peek ahead. 0

"Hey, rabbit!" 0

Little Rabbit quickly pulled its head back and darted through the grass, disappearing in an instant. 0

"Ah, hey..." Lu Sha sighed in frustration, lowering her hand. She had just pointed it out to everyone. 0

Lu Sha was the youngest among the Defenders. Despite having gone through many hardships, she still retained a hint of childlike innocence. 0

An Xiaotian flew above them, reminding Lu Sha, "We're on a mission right now; don't get distracted." 0

Lu Sha responded but felt quite wronged inside—if she hadn't been vigilant, who would have noticed a rabbit popping up? With her temperament, if it were Liu Xuan, Lu Sha would have already argued with him. 0

But there was nothing she could do; after all, this was her Brother Xiaotian. 0

The three continued to move stealthily. An Xiaotian spotted a pile of fallen leaves ahead and initially thought it was quite normal; such sights were common in autumn cities. 0

But this was deep in the mountains. 0

An Xiaotian realized this and felt increasingly uneasy. 0

"Nars, there's a pile of leaves ahead. It can't just be a natural accumulation, can it?" An Xiaotian said. 0

"Where?" Liu Xuan asked, looking up at him. 0

"It's a bit far; only I can see it," An Xiaotian pointed ahead. 0

Nars opened a time-space portal and took out a pair of glasses from his weapon Curry, standing on tiptoe to take a look. 0

"Hmm?" 0

Nars saw the pile of leaves but his focus wasn't on that. 0

Seeing Nars hesitate to act, Jiao An and An Xiaotian exchanged glances and said, "Let's check it out up close." 0

"No," Nars firmly denied, "the pile of leaves isn't the main point; I've spotted something that might not be visible to the naked eye." 0

The three stared at each other in confusion, unsure of what Nars meant. 0

"Keep thirty paces behind me; I'm going to see if that's a Soulless," Nars said before vanishing like he melted away into thin air, becoming a distant dot resembling Xiao Hei in Lu Sha's astonished gaze. 0

"There's such a thing?" Lu Sha found herself momentarily speechless. 0

An Xiaotian glanced back and estimated the distance; that wasn't thirty paces—it was more like three hundred! "We should go too," he urged Jiao An and Lu Sha as they hurried after him. 0

Through Nars's analysis lenses, the energy fluctuations became increasingly pronounced, with red lights flashing urgently in the upper right corner of the lenses. Nars had never encountered such strong energy fluctuations before; he estimated that even Life Crystals wouldn't exhibit such powerful energy Force Fields. 0

Wait a minute—stronger than Life Crystals? Could it be?! 0

Nars was startled by his own speculation. As a member of the Moonheart Royal Family, he had certainly heard legends about the universe and knew a bit about Chaos Crystals and Life Crystals' existence. However, he was more familiar with Life Crystals since they were practically in his neighbor's "home." But Chaos Crystals—how could they possibly appear on Earth?! Was there some secret about Earth that even his ancestors had not recorded? 0

"Warning: Energy fluctuations have exceeded the analyzable range by fourteen hundred sixty percent. Please remove your glasses immediately to prevent... damage...!" 0

Nars quickly removed his glasses; he couldn't afford to waste any of this high-tech equipment. However, it seemed too late, as the lenses had already shattered. 0

Before him stood a wooden post, and beside it lay a branch that resembled the one from which a wild rabbit had appeared earlier. Nars had already noticed the faint footprints nearby; upon closer inspection, the front toes seemed heavily pressed down, suggesting something had run past. Further away, a whole area of fallen leaves was kicked up in disarray. Nars suspected that some kind of social creature had migrated through here. 0

But this place wasn't far from the city. 0

"Enough thinking," Nars decided, stepping forward, only to be suddenly engulfed by a blinding white light. 0

"Ah!" The light nearly blinded him; even with his eyes closed, it felt like daylight. Unable to see anything, Nars relied on muscle memory and summoned a Cosmic Energy barrier around himself using his Tianchuang Gloves, then cautiously opened his eyes. 0

A large, translucent stone lay on the ground, grayish-white in color, with what appeared to be waves of energy swirling inside it. Its dazzling brightness suggested it was signaling someone. Nars stared at it, astonished to the point of forgetting how to move. 0

This was undoubtedly Chaos Crystals, if he wasn't mistaken. 0

"My God, how did you end up here!" 0

Nars bent down to pick up the Chaos Crystals. 0

"Don't move!" 0

Nars whipped around in surprise. What stood before him was a being that looked human yet not quite human. 0

Miao Chengmin had no physical eyes, but Nars could see the glow emanating from his eye sockets. Miao Chengmin's hands were already generating black energy orbs as he glared at the bluish figure before him and shouted, "Kid, are you cosplaying in the mountains?" 0

"What is cosplay?" Nars obediently retracted his hands from reaching for the Chaos Crystals, signaling that he meant no harm. 0

"If you dare take it away, don't blame me for acting," Miao Chengmin warned. He could tell that Nars was no ordinary person; he seemed completely unfazed by Miao Chengmin's threat. Even though Nars had withdrawn his hands and stood calmly, Miao Chengmin still couldn't relax. He slowly approached the Chaos Crystals, one hand open and aimed at Nars with a Chaos Sphere ready to be thrown. 0

Nars scrutinized this strange being before him. If he was correct in his assessment—the grayish skin, cracked lines, and bald head—this body clearly resembled that of a corpse. Yet here it was, speaking, moving, and thinking like a human being; even its previous words were in Chinese. 0

"If he's Soulless, he shouldn't possess such abilities; if he's human, then why is he in a dead body?" The more Nars thought about it, the more puzzled he became—could he be connected to the murdered Caretaker? Was there a possibility that he was the guardian of the Chaos Crystals? 0

"Then why does he still kill? And where are those Soulless he resurrected?" 0

Suddenly serious, Nars stepped forward to block Miao Chengmin from reaching the Chaos Crystals. 0

"Answer my question," Nars demanded with arms outstretched. "Who are you? The events at the graveyard must involve you." 0

Miao Chengmin looked up and sighed deeply. "First of all, it has nothing to do with me. Secondly, please step aside; I'm not joking with you." 0

"Neither am I." 0

The Blue Face Hero and Zombie King faced off against each other. The Blue Face Hero appeared motionless, but his launcher was primed and ready for action at any moment. 0

The two stood like statues in silence. Tension hung thick in the air, waiting to erupt. 0
