However, Wang Chao was no longer who he used to be; although he was injured from his battle with Yi Zhangzhi, it was part of his strategy—his Inner Strength was concealed. Now Wang Chao's swordsmanship had reached first-rate swordsman levels with an even stronger foundation. Facing his former colleagues, Wang Chao understood both himself and his opponents well; every move targeted their weaknesses. Within just a few exchanges, Ma Han and Zhang Long were clearly at a disadvantage. Despite this, they fought desperately against Wang Chao while waiting for reinforcements. Yi Zhangzhi could only dodge quickly but this affected his speed of escape. After walking another mile, Huangfu Mingmo finally caught up with Yi Zhangzhi in a valley. Huangfu Mingmo declared solemnly: "Criminal of the martial world, face justice!" Immediately after that came another deadly sweep of sword energy.
Yi Zhangzhi spun Dust Whisk around to deflect Huangfu Mingmo's sword energy: "Mr. Huangfu, why must you go this far? If it's truly a fight you want, you cannot defeat me! Your relentless pursuit is merely for Autumn Maiden; I am a cultivator with no romantic feelings towards her—do not misunderstand!"
Huangfu Mingmo, upon hearing that he could not defeat Yi Zhangzhi, was filled with rage and could no longer listen to any words; it was now a matter of life and death. Huangfu Mingmo leaped forward, launching a fierce attack on Yi Zhangzhi. Having fought against Huangfu Mingmo multiple times, Yi Zhangzhi was already familiar with his sword techniques. Not wanting to harm this talented swordsman of the martial world, Yi Zhangzhi continued to employ evasive tactics in response. Wang Chao and Sword Demon Tiedan finally arrived at the border between the Central Plains and Northern Martial Arts when a familiar figure stepped forward accompanied by a voice: "You were once my most trusted guard. When I trusted you, I also granted you the right to betray me. Today I will atone for my trust; you will pay for your betrayal." As he finished speaking, the person revealed himself to be Chief Justice Bao Qing of the Martial Arts Tribunal.
Seeing this, Wang Chao remarked, "I never expected that my status as a guard would trouble Chief Justice Bao Qing to come personally; it seems the Judicial Court is running low on talent."
Before further words could be exchanged, Bao Qing coldly launched an attack on Wang Chao. Wang Chao utilized his long sword to prevent Bao Qing from closing in for an attack, resulting in a stalemate for the time being. Meanwhile, Sword Demon Tiedan observed from the sidelines and calculated Wang Chao's chances of victory. After a moment's deliberation, Sword Demon Tiedan decided to leave the scene alone. The two combatants were so engrossed in their fierce battle that they remained unaware of Sword Demon Tiedan's departure as they continued their struggle. Having already endured numerous battles, Wang Chao was significantly drained of Inner Strength; after entangling with Bao Qing for several moments, he began to feel overwhelmed.
At this moment, Bao Qing gathered his internal energy once more and unleashed a powerful palm strike; he vowed not to rest until he had dealt with the traitor. Wang Chao did not wish to perish here; he invoked the Sword Demon’s signature move: Exterminate the Dao, Annihilate the Buddha in an attempt to defeat Bao Qing in one fell swoop and secure an opportunity for escape. Subsequently, Bao Qing buried Wang Chao at his dying spot and erected a tombstone inscribed with “Nameless Grave.” He bowed slightly before departing.
Within Confucius Academy, Mengzi heard news that Half-Orcs and Half-Insect Army had surrounded Smoke and Rain Absolute Flower Eighteen Floors and were preparing to annihilate those within Eighteen Floors. Anger surged within Mengzi: "The despicable Half-Orcs and Half-Insect Men dare repeatedly invade the Central Plains Martial Arts World! I must avenge my deceased disciples." He prepared to rise but felt intense pain throughout his body upon movement. Zhu Yingtai observed this and said: "Mengzi, your injuries have not healed; it is unwise to act recklessly. Now that we know Half-Orcs and Half-Insect Army are at Smoke and Rain Absolute Flower Eighteen Floors, let us go support Eighteen Floors together against these foreign invaders."
Ouyang Xiu immediately expressed agreement; however Liang Shanbo countered: "Now there are only a few of us left in Confucius Academy. With just us few going there would only mean certain death; I do not agree with such an unwise decision."
Zhu Yingtai quickly retorted: "Liang Shanbo, if you are afraid of death then leave now; we will not force you to accompany us. The culprit behind our fellow disciples' deaths is right before us; you think only of revenge yet discourage others from seeking it—what is your true intention? Besides, we are going to support Eighteen Floors; we are not going there alone to fight Half-Orcs and Half-Insect Army—what are you afraid of? It is quite clear."
Liang Shanbo was left speechless; in order not to bear the shame of being called cowardly he could only join Ouyang Xiu and Zhu Yingtai in heading towards Eighteen Floors to confront Half-Orcs and Half-Insect Army.
