Tie Zhu slowly took out the Sniper Rifle once again, aiming at the two rapidly approaching Japanese Soldiers. 0

“Bang!” 0

The muffled gunshot rang out again, and Tie Zhu annoyingly ducked back behind the Willow Tree, having missed his shot once more. 0

The two Japanese Soldiers were startled by the sudden muffled gunfire, dropping to the ground and glancing at each other. After confirming that nothing was wrong, they got back up and continued moving forward, having roughly determined the attacker's position and number. 0

The gun muzzles began to aim towards Tie Zhu's hiding spot, targeting several possible locations. 0

Just as Tie Zhu was preparing to aim again, the Japanese Soldiers had already discovered his position. The two Japanese Soldiers almost simultaneously pinpointed where Tie Zhu was hiding and unhesitatingly pulled the triggers of their weapons, forcing Tie Zhu to awkwardly drop back down to the ground. 0

“Damn it, those Japanese soldiers are really accurate!” 0

Tie Zhu clumsily got back up from the ground, clutching his weapon as he fled backward. He was still a distance away from the Japanese soldiers; he could still run for now. If they got too close, Tie Zhu knew he wouldn't be able to escape. 0

“This rifle is harder to use than a Type 38 Rifle. I aimed for the head; why can't I hit anything?” 0

While escaping, Tie Zhu slung the Sniper Rifle over his back, took down Shunliu Brother's Zhongzheng Rifle, and leaped into a shell hole, turning around to fire a shot at the Japanese position. 0

This shot was a lucky hit; it struck one of the Japanese soldiers in the leg. The Japanese Soldier cried out in agony and fell to the ground. The other Japanese Soldier, seeing this, sought cover and fired a shot toward Tie Zhu's hiding spot before pulling out a Grenade and throwing it over. 0

The distance was still a bit far, so the Japanese Grenade didn't cause any harm to Tie Zhu. However, it exploded on the soft muddy ground, sending up a large cloud of dirt and vegetation that obscured Tie Zhu's view. 0

Tie Zhu tossed aside the Zhongzheng Rifle, took up the Japanese Sniper Rifle, and peered through the scope to observe the situation of the remaining Japanese Soldiers. 0

Through the smoke and dirt that obstructed his line of sight, he spotted the yellowish-brown pattern of a Military Uniform. 0

Tie Zhu slowly moved his rifle towards it: “This time I must hit; I must hit.” 0

Silently praying in his heart, he gradually squeezed the trigger. 0

The bullet hit the Japanese Soldier, but Tie Zhu couldn't see exactly where, yet he was sure he had struck him. 0

Retracting his gun, Tie Zhu picked up the Zhongzheng Rifle that was lying nearby, crawled out of the pit, and continued to retreat. There was another Japanese Soldier, and he had no confidence in being able to kill him; he could only keep looking for advantageous terrain to deliver a fatal blow to the Japanese Soldier. 0

From a high altitude, Luodian was in chaos. Two colors were weaving through the streets and alleys of Luodian: blue and earth yellow, crisscrossing each other. 0

The Japanese Soldiers were well-prepared and well-trained. Upon entering the town, they formed tactical teams of three, providing mutual cover as they advanced, leaving no opportunity for the Nationalist Army. 0

Having experienced bloody battles, the Nationalist Army gradually understood the key to urban warfare and could barely match the Japanese Soldiers in terms of strength. 0

Several bridges in Luodian were focal points of contention between both sides. The Nationalist Army, which had just retreated decisively, began to fight for the bridges again, seemingly realizing their importance. More and more Japanese Soldiers were drawn to the area around the bridges, exchanging fire across the Qihe River with the Nationalist Army. 0

"Regimental Commander, should we detonate it now?" 0

Hu Lian stood on a three-story small building, observing the battlefield through binoculars. Although the Japanese Soldiers were well-trained, he had devised a countermeasure. 0

"Pass down the order; detonate it!" 0

With Hu Lian's command, flames instantly engulfed the side of the Qihe River occupied by the Japanese Soldiers. The massive explosion echoed across the battlefield, shaking the ground in Luodian. 0

These explosives had been buried under Hu Lian's orders. Due to time constraints and insufficient ammunition, although it appeared grandiose, it caused significant casualties and losses to the Japanese Soldiers. 0

The banks of the river were devastated by the bombs. The Japanese military commander, Major Kawasaki, threw aside his binoculars in frustration: "The Chinese are very cunning; one careless move can lead to losses. Send a report to headquarters stating that my battalion has successfully entered Luodian and is clearing out remaining enemies. Request assistance from the tank units!" 0

"Ha Yi!" 0

The communications officer behind him immediately began calling headquarters with a radio to request tactical guidance. The Japanese Soldiers needed support but referred to it as tactical guidance, which left many scholars from various countries puzzled as to why. 0

After a brief moment of confusion, the Japanese Soldiers began organizing their attack again. Although the bridge had been destroyed, mortars set up in concealed positions along the riverbank made things extremely difficult for the Nationalist Army. 0

On the opposite bank, the buildings where the Nationalist Army was hiding had all been greeted by the mortars of the Japanese Soldiers, and none were left intact. Many Nationalist Army soldiers and houses were buried together. 0

The engineering troops of the Japanese Soldiers began to build a bridge, while a small group of Japanese Soldiers attempted to cross the river, only to be met with a barrage of angry bullets. 0

The Japanese Soldiers who had crossed the bridge early received signals to begin moving toward the riverbank, where fierce fighting erupted between the Japanese Soldiers and Kuomintang Soldiers around the Qihe River. 0

The Nationalist Army, which initially held a defensive advantage, began to falter slowly. Their retreat routes were being encircled by the Japanese Soldiers, and some Nationalist Army soldiers quietly started to withdraw from their positions, moving into the town. 0

Tie Zhu had been hiding along the riverbank, unsure if he had shaken off the pursuing Japanese Soldiers behind him. The sounds of gunfire surrounded him, and he didn't know where he could hide safely. 0

Crouched in a small patch of reeds by the riverbank, Tie Zhu carefully observed his surroundings with a sniper rifle. In the distance, on a broken bridge, Japanese Soldiers were laying down planks to cross. Across the riverbank, other Japanese Soldiers were continuously firing at another side, while gunfire echoed from behind him. 0

"I'm done for; this is a dead end!" 0

Tie Zhu slapped his forehead in frustration. He had been so focused on escaping that he hadn't paid attention to his surroundings and ended up right in the center of the battlefield, trapped with enemies behind him. 0

"What should I do?" Tie Zhu dared not move while hiding in the reeds, fearing detection by the nearby Japanese Soldiers. Although there was still some distance between them, if discovered in this position, survival was nearly impossible; the marksmanship of the Japanese Soldiers was not to be underestimated. 0

An artillery shell exploded in a small building not far from Tie Zhu. He saw something flying toward him—a severed arm belonging to a Nationalist Army soldier. 0

Startled by the dismembered limb, Tie Zhu took two steps back. He cautiously placed the severed arm aside and took a deep breath while holding his rifle, trying to calm himself down. This was war; death could come at any moment, leaving no trace behind. 0
