Wang Shunliu slowly opened his eyes and found himself in a room with two tables beside him. 0

He touched his still aching head, leaned against the wall, and slowly stood up to survey his surroundings. 0

It was quite messy and spacious, clearly showing signs of a battle, with remnants of an explosion in the corner of the opposite wall. 0

Hearing footsteps coming from the stairs, Wang Shunliu cautiously retreated to the corner, looking around but not finding his gun. 0

Tie Zhu happily walked upstairs with two cans rewarded by the Commander, thinking about how he would help nourish Shunliu Brother once he woke up. 0

“Tie Zhu?” 0

As Tie Zhu reached the second floor, he heard a familiar voice calling out. Turning around, he saw Shunliu Brother crouching in the corner slowly standing up. 0

“Shunliu Brother, you’re awake!” Tie Zhu exclaimed as he dashed around the corner of the second floor, his face lit up with an excited smile revealing white teeth, looking just like an innocent child. 0

Wang Shunliu felt relieved seeing Tie Zhu come upstairs and opened his arms with a smile looking at Tie Zhu. 0

“Shunliu Brother, you finally woke up! You scared me to death; I was afraid I would never see you again!” Tie Zhu said as tears began to flow down his face. 0

Wang Shunliu smiled and hugged Tie Zhu, gently patting his back. “It’s okay, it’s okay. I just slept for a bit. Don’t cry; you’re a warrior now. What are you crying for?” 0

Tie Zhu nodded, released Wang Shunliu, wiped his tears away, and took out a can from his hand to hand it to Wang Shunliu. “Shunliu Brother, you must be hungry. I have two cans here; hurry and eat this beef can!” 0

Wang Shunliu took the can and curiously looked at Tie Zhu. “Where did you get these two cans? This is American food; are Japanese people eating American canned food now?” 0

Tie Zhu grinned and scratched his head. “No, no! The Commander rewarded me with these. I just killed five enemies all by myself!” 0

"Really?" 0

"Of course it's true, Commander is right downstairs. He told me to come up and rest while taking care of you," Tie Zhu said, covering his mouth halfway through and laughing shyly again. 0

Wang Shunliu frowned at Tie Zhu: "How did you get hurt? Where are you hurt? Let me see!" 0

"Brother Shunliu, it's just a minor injury. Chief of Staff just bandaged it for me, it's nothing serious!" 0

Wang Shunliu looked at Tie Zhu, noticing a tear on his shoulder in the Military Uniform, with traces of blood that he hadn't noticed before. 0

"Take off your jacket and let me see!" 0

"Oh!" 0

Tie Zhu obediently took off his jacket, revealing the wound that Xu Chief of Staff had bandaged. 0

Wang Shunliu carefully examined the bleeding area, gesturing on himself a couple of times. After confirming it wasn't in a critical spot, he finally relaxed with a sigh of relief. 0

"How could you be so careless? Didn't I tell you to hide when I'm not around?" 0

"Brother Shunliu, let me tell you something. Just now, when I was killing those few enemies, I died many times. But every time I died, I came back to life, back to where I was before." 0

Wang Shunliu scratched his head, thinking for a long time but not understanding what Tie Zhu was saying: "Tie Zhu, what are you talking about? I don't get it." 0

Tie Zhu seemed a bit excited and sat cross-legged on the ground with the can he placed down: "Brother Shunliu, this is what happened. At first, I was downstairs cleaning my gun, then three Japanese Soldiers came in. I was stunned at that moment, then in a panic, I shot and killed all three of them. But then a Japanese Soldier popped out from the corner and shot me in the head, and then I died!" 0

Wang Shunliu took two steps back: "Tie Zhu, don't scare me! Are you human or ghost?" 0

"Shunliu Brother, I'm a person! Look, I have a shadow!" Tie Zhu said as he ran to the window on the second floor, where sunlight revealed a long, slanted shadow. 0

"You little brat, stop scaring people. If you were dead, I'd be talking to a ghost right now!" 0

Tie Zhu shook his head: "Shunliu Brother, it's not like that. There's more! Didn't I get killed by a Japanese Soldier? Then I woke up and found myself back upstairs, and the Commander was asking me to help carry the Machine Gun down!" 0

"Did you fall asleep because you were too tired? Was it just a dream?" 0

"Not like that, not like that, Shunliu Brother. At first, I thought it was like that. After I went downstairs and helped set up the Machine Gun, after a while, three Japanese Soldiers really came, looking exactly like in my dream!" 0

"And then?" 0

Hastily walking back to Wang Shunliu's side, Tie Zhu sat cross-legged on the ground, lowering his head shyly: "Later, I got blown up by a little Japanese Soldier, and then I woke up again, ready to help carry the Machine Gun downstairs." 0

"Wait a minute, what Machine Gun? Where did you get the Machine Gun from?" 0

Tie Zhu grinned: "It's the one that Shunliu Brother killed before, right? Didn't you get knocked out by that Little Devil? I later helped chase that guy away; he ran off in a hurry and left the Machine Gun behind. That thing is really heavy; I had to run back and forth three times to get it upstairs." 0

Wang Shunliu patted Tie Zhu's head: "Thank you, Tie Zhu. You saved my life; I owe you one!" 0

"Shunliu Brother, don't say that. If it weren't for you, I would have died on the battlefield this morning. So thank you! By the way, Shunliu Brother, after I got blown up by that Japanese soldier, I woke up again and found myself back on the second floor, ready to help carry the Machine Gun down." 0

"Tie Zhu, are you too tired today? Are you hallucinating? There's no such thing in this world. Get some good rest; keep this can for yourself. I've eaten enough before; you're injured and need to recover!" 0

Tie Zhu nodded; he was indeed very tired. He had slept in the trench all night without any proper rest. After fighting all day today, he felt his nerves were always on edge. Finally having a chance to rest now brought an overwhelming sense of fatigue over him. 0

"Shunliu Brother, don't go! Wait until I wake up; I'll tell you all about it. Everything I just said is true; you have to believe me!" 0

"Alright, alright, Shunliu Brother won't leave. What Tie Zhu said is true. Shunliu Brother trusts Tie Zhu. Go to sleep now, Tie Zhu, sleep well!" 0

Two minutes later, Tie Zhu started snoring, tightly hugging the Type 38 Rifle, occasionally frowning as if having a nightmare. 0

Wang Shunliu watched as Tie Zhu fell into a deep sleep, slowly stood up, and looked around but couldn't find his Rifle. Frowning, he made his way downstairs. 0

The first floor had now become the Command Post, with the administrative personnel of the unit coming in and out, continuously issuing various orders. Commander Hu Lian sat sternly in front of a Type 92 Heavy Machine Gun, his brow furrowed, looking very serious. 0

"Commander!" 0

Hu Lian looked up briefly and nodded: "You are Wang Shunliu, right?" 0

"Yes, Commander, I am Wang Shunliu!" As Wang Shunliu spoke, his eyes darted around, trying to locate his weapon. 0

"That's right. What are you looking for?" 0

"Report, Commander, I am looking for my weapon. I found it missing when I woke up!" 0

"Hmm, are you looking for this gun?" Hu Lian pulled out a Zhongzheng Rifle from behind the nearby table, polished to a shine, with the handle reflecting light—a sign of frequent use. 0

Upon seeing his gun, Wang Shunliu's eyes immediately lit up with intense excitement, and he couldn't help but smile: "Yes, Commander, that's the one!" 0
