Luodian, Japanese Army Position. 0

The Japanese position is now in complete chaos, with people everywhere and fighting breaking out all around. 0

The Nationalist Army clearly has the advantage in numbers, surrounding the remaining Japanese troops in small pockets. 0

The combat effectiveness of the Japanese is significantly stronger than that of the Kuomintang forces. Despite the overwhelming numerical advantage, the ground is littered with Nationalist Army corpses, while only a small number of Japanese remain. 0

The Japanese tactical teams, consisting of three to five members, provide mutual cover for each other and rely on the terrain to resist gradually, stabilizing what was once a collapsing position. 0

More and more Kuomintang Soldiers rush into the trenches, engaging in close-quarters combat with the Japanese, making the fighting increasingly brutal. 0

Tie Zhu is being pulled by Wang Shunliu, lingering at the edge of the battlefield, neither too close nor too far. 0

Wang Shunliu fires from a distance with a rifle while Tie Zhu keeps watch. In a short time, Wang Shunliu has already killed three Japanese soldiers. 0

“Shunliu Brother, why don’t we rush in and take down those Japanese?” 0

The power of idolization is strong; Tie Zhu is influenced by the atmosphere of the crowd and feels eager to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the Japanese. 0

“Are you trying to get yourself killed? With your small frame, you wouldn’t last a second against a Japanese soldier,” Wang Shunliu turns around and scolds Tie Zhu. 0

Feeling somewhat wronged, Tie Zhu lowers his head but believes that Shunliu Brother is looking out for him. He stops talking and quietly follows behind Wang Shunliu. 0

The two carefully wander along the edge of the battlefield, constantly searching for opportunities to take down one or two enemies. 0

Not far from where Wang Shunliu and Tie Zhu are positioned, a Sunset Soldier lies on the ground, barely conscious, with vacant eyes. A bullet has pierced through his chest, and he seems to be dead. 0

As Tie Zhu and Wang Shunliu passed by, a Japanese Soldier suddenly leaped up from the ground and knocked Wang Shunliu down. 0

Although the Japanese soldier was small in stature, his strength was much greater than Wang Shunliu's. He tackled Wang Shunliu to the ground, his hands tightly gripping Wang Shunliu's neck. 0

Wang Shunliu was caught off guard and was taken down by the feigning Japanese soldier. His gun was thrown a short distance away, with the bayonet still attached. 0

"Tie Zhu! Tie Zhu, kill him!" Wang Shunliu shouted hoarsely while struggling. The Japanese soldier was injured, but the strength of a cornered beast was still formidable, making Wang Shunliu feel somewhat suffocated. 0

Tie Zhu was so frightened that he fell to the side, unsure of what to do, his legs trembling again. 0

Hearing Wang Shunliu's cries, Tie Zhu finally regained his senses and cautiously approached, striking the Japanese soldier on the head with his rifle. 0

The Japanese soldier winced in pain and turned to glare at Tie Zhu with a fierce expression. His face was twisted in a grotesque manner, resembling a malevolent spirit crawling out of hell, which terrified Tie Zhu into retreating once more and falling to the ground. 0

Taking advantage of the moment when the Japanese soldier was distracted, Wang Shunliu felt the grip on his neck loosen slightly and gasped for air. Just as he prepared to push the Japanese soldier off him, the soldier became even more frenzied. His face contorted beyond recognition, he tightened his grip around Wang Shunliu's neck again. 0

Wang Shunliu struggled desperately to pry the soldier's hands away to breathe, but only managed to get a little air. His head was turning red from lack of oxygen. 0

"Tie Zhu! Tie Zhu! Come save me!" 0

Tie Zhu, hiding behind, heard his brother's cries for help and once again crawled up trembling. Gathering his courage, he approached with his rifle raised. 0

"Kill him, kill him, kill him!" Wang Shunliu's voice had become very hoarse and was starting to crack. 0

This time, the Japanese soldier did not turn back; he simply shouted something in Japanese, causing Tie Zhu to freeze in fear again. 0

“Tie Zhu, kill him, quickly kill him.” 0

Wang Shunliu's breath grew weaker, his voice softer. Tie Zhu had tears in his eyes, closed them, and thrust the Bayonet forward. He felt some resistance, pulled it out, thrust again, pulled out and thrust repeatedly. After several attempts, Tie Zhu slowly opened his eyes. 0

The Japanese turned to stare at Tie Zhu, eyes wide in disbelief that this Chinese soldier, who had been scared into submission by a mere shout, actually had the courage to kill him. 0

Tie Zhu was startled by the Japanese, stepping back a few paces before tripping over a stone and falling to the ground. He closed his eyes and shouted, “Don’t kill me, don’t kill me!” 0

Wang Shunliu was saved; Tie Zhu’s several stabs had killed the Japanese, causing the hands that had tightly gripped his neck to loosen. Struggling, he pried the Japanese's hands off his neck. Wang Shunliu let out a long sigh of relief, feeling much lighter. 0

Getting up, he felt a bit dizzy, likely from lack of oxygen. 0

Wang Shunliu walked in front of Tie Zhu, patting him. Tie Zhu kept his eyes closed, waving his hands wildly and shouting incoherently. 0

“Tie Zhu, I’m your Shunliu Brother!” Wang Shunliu’s voice was distorted. 0

Hearing Wang Shunliu’s voice calmed Tie Zhu somewhat. He opened his eyes and upon seeing Wang Shunliu, he immediately burst into tears. 0

“Shunliu Brother, I’m so scared, I’m so scared! Did I kill someone? Did I really kill someone? Will he come to find me? I saw him staring at me; even in death he was staring at me.” 0

Wang Shunliu patted his back, continuously comforting Tie Zhu: “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid. He won’t come looking for you; they’ve all gone to hell and won’t come back. The Little Devils have gone to hell too. Look at me, Shunliu Brother, I’ve killed so many of those devils and nothing happened to me. Don’t be afraid now; stop crying.” 0
