Lin Yu moved swiftly through the alleys of Lianba Village, his footsteps light and quick, like a shadow. In the distance, the flickering flames illuminated half the sky, signaling his success in disrupting the Shadow Guard camp. The chaos and commotion coming from within the camp provided him with some comfort, but he knew that such a diversion could not last long. Cao Ling would surely organize a team to hunt him down soon. 0

Taking a deep breath in the darkness, Lin Yu's mind raced. His primary mission was to determine where Xiao Yun's family had fled and to reunite with them as quickly as possible. Only by ensuring their safety could he plan his next move with peace of mind. 0

The alleyways were narrow and winding, with houses on either side appearing tranquil and mysterious in the night. Lin Yu skillfully navigated through the alleys, avoiding every spot that might expose his whereabouts. His ears picked up distant footsteps and whispers, compelling him to be even more cautious. 0

Suddenly, he stopped in a dark corner, quietly observing everything ahead. The distant flames remained dazzling, but Lin Yu's focus was solely on the movements around him. He knew that Xiao Yun's family could not stay in Lianba Village for long; they would undoubtedly seek a more concealed place to hide. 0

Lin Yu recalled Zhang Dashan and Li Chunhua's personalities and speculated that they might look for a trusted friend or relative. But before that, he decided to investigate Xiao Yun's old home to see if he could find any useful clues. 0

He quickly made his way toward Xiao Yun's house, the darkness of the alley concealing his movements. Soon, he arrived at Xiao Yun's old home. The sight before him tightened his chest: the entire house was in disarray, furniture overturned, items scattered everywhere—clearly having undergone a search. 0

Lin Yu silently entered the house, his gaze sweeping across the surroundings. He noticed that this place had not only been searched but also deliberately vandalized. Zhang Dashan had evidently destroyed many clues to make it more difficult for enemies to track them down later. This gave Lin Yu some comfort; Zhang Dashan's wit and decisiveness had bought them precious time to escape. 0

Lin Yu carefully examined every corner, trying to find more clues. His fingers gently brushed over an overturned table, his eyes filled with anxiety and determination. He knew time was of the essence; he had to find their trail quickly. 0

At that moment, he noticed a piece of paper on the ground, seemingly a fragment of a map. Lin Yu cautiously picked it up and unfolded it for a closer look. The map marked several locations, one of which was near Baiyue Village. 0

"They might go to Baiyue Village," Lin Yu murmured to himself, quickly making a decision in his mind. 0

He swiftly tucked the map fragment into his clothing and turned to leave Xiao Yun's old home. His pace quickened as unease and anxiety filled him. Cao Ling's cruel methods left no room for complacency; he had to find Xiao Yun's family as soon as possible to ensure their safety. 0

Lin Yu knew that Baiyue Village was not far away, but it was already late at night, and the boatmen by the river had long since rested. Under the moonlight, the riverside ferry appeared particularly quiet, with only a gentle breeze bringing a hint of coolness. He reached the ferry and looked around, noticing only an Old Man fishing by the riverbank. 0

The old man wore a Raincoat and a Conical Hat, with a Glass of wine cup beside him. Although it was late at night, the Old Man remained focused on the water's surface, as if the world's noise had nothing to do with him. Lin Yu felt a stir in his heart and decided to take a chance, slowly walking toward the ferry dock. 0

He approached cautiously, not wanting to disturb the old man. When he reached the Old Man's side, the old man seemed to sense his presence, lifting his head and gazing at Lin Yu through the shadow of the Conical Hat. Lin Yu could feel the wisdom and weariness in the old man's eyes, and his impression of him changed slightly. 0

Lin Yu spoke softly, "Sir, it's quite late for fishing. May I ask if there is a ferry available to cross the river? I have urgent business that requires me to reach Baiyue Village." 0

The Old Man smiled faintly, gently setting down his fishing rod and taking a sip from his wine cup. "Young man, what urgent matter could you possibly have at this hour? Baiyue Village isn't far from here, but at this time, there are no ferrymen available." 0

Lin Yu nodded sincerely, "It is indeed urgent; it concerns several lives. Sir, could you please help me?" 0

The Old Man smiled slightly, sharp eyes hidden beneath the Conical Hat glimmering with deep and mysterious light. He looked at Lin Yu with amusement; although dressed like an ordinary person, the killing intent and powerful aura emanating from him made the Old Man unable to suppress a laugh. 0

The Old Man picked up his wine cup and poured some wine into another worn-out small cup, handing it to Lin Yu with a smile. "Baiyue Village is indeed not far away, but... if you go there now, you might be taking a wrong turn," he said cryptically. 0

Lin Yu lowered his head in silence, accepting the wine cup. He looked up and met the Old Man's gaze; after a moment, he drank it down in one gulp. The liquor was spicy and strong, stimulating his throat and stomach, instantly waking him up. He set down the cup and calmly said, "This is all I can do right now." 0

The Old Man's smile deepened as he nodded gently. "It seems you have already made your decision. This path may be perilous, but perhaps it is exactly what you need." 0

Lin Yu took a deep breath, his eyes resolute. "No matter what happens, I will protect them; it is my responsibility." 0

The Old Man looked at Lin Yu's determined expression with a hint of approval in his eyes. He gently patted Lin Yu's shoulder and said, "Young man, since you have made up your mind, then move forward bravely. I only hope you can achieve your wishes." 0

Lin Yu nodded deeply and bowed again in gratitude. "Thank you for your guidance; I will remember this kindness." 0

The Old Man pointed to the small boat by the river and said softly, "Get on the boat, I'll take you for a ride." 0

Lin Yu nodded and followed the Old Man to the small boat. The Old Man nimbly jumped onto the boat, his movements so agile that one would not guess he was already in his eighties. Lin Yu climbed aboard as well, and the Old Man untied the ropes, skillfully picked up the oars, and began to row. 0

The small boat moved slowly under the moonlight, the river water gently lapping against the hull, creating a series of soft whispers. Lin Yu sat at the bow, gazing at the distant riverbank, silently praying that he would successfully find Xiao Yun's family and reunite with them. 0

The Old Man rowed in silence. The moonlight reflected on the surface of the river, shimmering and making this moment feel particularly tranquil. 0

Before long, the small boat approached the shore of Baiyue Village. The Old Man steadied the boat and said to Lin Yu, "Alright, this is Baiyue Village. You should go now; I wish you all the best." 0

Lin Yu thanked the Old Man once again with gratitude, saying, "Thank you, sir. I will remember this kindness." 0

The Old Man smiled and waved his hand, "Go on, young man. May you achieve your wishes." 0
