"Alright, alright, you're all grown up, yet you still act like a child." Ji Yuan helplessly gave her a gentle push.
Ji Xiao Xiao didn't take it seriously and flicked her hair behind her ear, "But I'm still your cousin~"
Ji Yuan closed the car door and got into the driver's seat, letting out a sigh. "Come on, at your age, you should be dating. If your boyfriend sees this, won't he get jealous?"
"I wouldn't date a boyfriend!"
"If you're not dating a boyfriend, do you want to date a girlfriend? Second Uncle and Second Aunt's hearts can't take that; don't scare them."
"What are you talking about? I have an older brother; why would I need a boyfriend?"
"That sounds even scarier. If my mom hears that, she'll twist my ear! Besides, even if I'm desperate, I wouldn't go for something like Germany's orthopedics..."
After joking around for a while, Ji Yuan spotted a mall and thought for a moment before asking, "By the way, do you want to buy some clothes?"
Usually, when girls go on trips, they bring a ton of bags, almost like they're moving.
"I ordered other stuff online to be sent to school; it should arrive in a couple of days," Ji Xiao Xiao said.
Ji Yuan twitched his mouth. He had intended to hit the brakes but decided to step on the gas instead.
"Fine, I won't bother with you." Glancing at her backpack, he estimated there were one or two changes of clothes inside and didn't dwell on it further.
It's been really hot lately!
As soon as Ji Xiao Xiao arrived home with Ji Yuan, she kicked off her canvas shoes and socks and ran to the bathroom in his slippers.
Ji Yuan called out to her twice but received no response. Just then, the housekeeper came over to ask what they would have for dinner, which shifted his focus away.
Ji Yuan scratched his head. His cousin had come all the way here on her first day, so it was time for a hearty meal.
"How about this: you make a plate of spicy and sour cucumber strips, a serving of sour plum mint duck, a portion of cold red oil enoki mushrooms, a bowl of pickled vegetable and crucian carp soup, and a serving of Mapo tofu. That should be about right."
Once summer arrived, his appetite always diminished, so some appetizers would help.
"Brother~"
Ji Yuan was half-reclining on the sofa watching anime when a sweet voice startled him, almost causing him to fall off.
"What’s up? Just come out when you're done washing!"
He shuffled in his slippers, indifferent, and casually grabbed an apple from the fruit plate to munch on. He was puzzled as to why this little devil was taking so long in the shower.
"Brother, I forgot to bring my clothes in. Can you help me get them?" Ji Xiao Xiao said, embarrassed and angry.
Ji Yuan replied, "Should I call Auntie to help you bring them in?"
"Don't! That would be embarrassing!"
"Alright then, I'll get them for you. The clothes are in your bag, right?"
"Yes, that's right. Everything is in the bag."
Ji Yuan opened her backpack and looked inside. He noticed something seemed to be missing but couldn't quite remember what it was.
Knock knock knock.
He gently tapped on the bathroom door, feeling inexplicably nervous as his heart raced: "Hey, just crack the door open a bit so I can hand it to you."
As he spoke, he extended the clothes in his hand.
Ji Xiao Xiao hesitated for a moment before quickly reaching out with a wet hand to snatch the clothes inside. Then she slammed the door shut, nearly hitting Ji Yuan's nose.
"This girl!" Ji Yuan shook his head.
In front of outsiders, she is a well-behaved girl, but in front of him, she is always forgetful, often leaving him helpless.
"Brother~~"
Just as he was about to lift his leg to leave, the voice of this Little Fairy came from the bathroom again.
Ji Yuan: "What now?"
Stop messing around, or I might get angry!
Is it too much to ask for a little consideration?
"Brother, I... I forgot to bring my clothes from outside, and my T-shirt got wet." There was a hint of a sob in Ji Xiao Xiao's voice.
Ji Yuan slapped his forehead in frustration, glancing at the darkening sky outside. "How about I go out and buy you a new outfit? When are you going to change this forgetful habit of yours?"
It hasn't even been long since they arrived, and already there's such a big mess!
"No need, brother. Why don't you go back to the room and look for your clothes? Can you find me a shirt?" Ji Xiao Xiao suggested.
Ji Yuan didn't think much of it; he was just relieved that he didn't have to make a trip outside. "Alright, I'll find you one."
"Make sure it's brand new and unworn."
"Don't worry, I have plenty of clothes. Finding a few new ones won't be a problem!"
