"Cousin!"
Lin Yao Yao smiled brightly, her chubby little face filled with joy, her happiness evident. After a moment of excitement, she remembered the friend she had made along the way.
"Pan Yi, come here! This is my cousin. Isn't he handsome?"
Pan Yi approached nervously, and upon seeing the person on the screen, he immediately displayed a look of realization. Yesterday, when he saw Little Einstein on the train, he had a suspicion, and after confirming that the little person was indeed Xiao Ai, he felt he was already halfway there. Now seeing the real person, he knew his guess was correct. Lin Yao Yao's cousin was Ji Yuan.
"Hello, Mr. Ji. I am Pan Yi, a sophomore at Pantech University. We participated in the National Robotics Competition together six months ago; I wonder if you remember me."
Pan Yi's tone couldn't hide his excitement. The impact of the Patriot One Robot had greatly impressed him at that time, and later he repeatedly studied the videos Ji Yuan posted on Bilibili, gaining a deeper understanding of robotics. Ji Yuan was Pan Yi's idol; if he hadn't been trying to suppress his emotions, he might have blurted out, "Big shot, please take me under your wing!"
Ji Yuan had a good memory; he paused for just a moment before quickly connecting Pan Yi to the person in his memory. "It's you! I remember you; your team was second place in the National Robot Competition. I've seen your robot; it was well done." He had been surprised to see some theoretical knowledge applied from Pan Yi's group's robot in the Patriot One.
Reflecting on this group of people, it seems that most of them have absorbed some superficial knowledge from the videos he posted on Bilibili and applied it to their own robot-making projects. As memories surfaced, he recalled that it was this young man who asked whether the production cost of the Patriot One really amounted to ten million.
He vividly remembered the frozen expression on the other person's face when he seriously confirmed that it indeed required ten million. For them, ten million Renminbi must have seemed like an astronomical figure!
After receiving praise from Ji Yuan, Pan Yi's face turned red with excitement, completely shedding the mature demeanor he had shown in front of Lin Yao Yao. This was praise from his idol; how could he not be thrilled?
Lin Yao Yao thought to herself, "Does this guy really need to get so worked up?"
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Pan Yi hesitantly asked, "Mr. Ji, will you be posting videos on Bilibili in the future?" Fearing Ji Yuan might not understand, he quickly added, "You know, similar to the production of Patriot One."
Ji Yuan was momentarily taken aback as his mind raced before he shook his head and said, "We're about the same age; you don't need to call me Mr. Ji or anything formal like that. It sounds too obedient. You can call me Brother Ji, or Yuan Ge, or even Ji Yuan Ge; any of those works."
"Really? Is that okay?!" Pan Yi's honest and simple face showed even more excitement, his eyes sparkling as he completely forgot about Lin Yao Yao.
Ji Yuan thought to himself, "This kid might have a few screws loose!"
Or perhaps, he is actually his own Little Fanboy?
"I probably won't be posting videos like 'Making Patriot One' on Bilibili anymore; the confidentiality agreement doesn't allow me to do that. It would be a violation." Ji Yuan thought for a moment and quickly brought the topic back.
Pan Yi was taken aback, feeling a hint of regret in his heart, but he pretended to be relaxed and said, "It's fine... So, Brother Ji, can I still ask you for advice if I encounter difficulties in the future?"
As soon as he said this, he wished he could slap himself!
Since the other party was working for a special department of the country, the workload and pressure must be immense. Here he was, a small fry, bothering someone like him—wasn't that just foolish?
However, deep down, he didn't really regret it.
It was rare to have the opportunity to meet a big shot; if he missed it just like that, he would probably feel frustrated for a lifetime!
"I can when I have time."
Ji Yuan didn't shut down the conversation completely and smiled, saying, "My company will be coming to light soon. Once you graduate in the future, you can join my company."
This guy managed to learn some skills through the videos he posted on Bilibili, clearly showing that he had some talent. Hiring him wouldn't be a loss.
