Jack glanced at Claire and coldly said, "This is the most ridiculous story I've ever heard... Really, Claire, I have to admire you. Do you even believe it yourself?" 0

Claire feigned a pitiful expression, her eyes brimming with tears as she said, "It's true! You have to believe me, Detective Jack! You must believe me!" 0

Jack shook his head and sighed deeply. "Claire, I think our understanding has never been on the same page. I can only proceed based on this evidence and ask the prosecutor to charge you." 0

Claire's face instantly turned even paler, a flicker of despair and fear flashing in her eyes. She knew she could no longer hide or escape; no matter how much she tried to argue, the truth would eventually come to light. 0

"Jack, please give me another chance. I will tell you all the truth; please don’t do this," Claire choked out, tears streaming down her face. 0

Jack looked at her, his gaze still stern. "Claire, I have given you countless chances, but you always choose to conceal and argue. It's time to face reality; this is not just for Mark but also for yourself." 0

Claire's tears flowed continuously; she knew she had nowhere to retreat. Her heart was filled with helplessness and despair. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself while constantly thinking about how to salvage everything. 0

"Jack, please believe me; I really didn't kill him. I just don't know how to face all of this," Claire whispered, her voice filled with pain and regret. 0

Jack shook his head, his tone heavy with disappointment and helplessness. "Claire, I have done everything I can to help you. When something like this happens, no one knows what to do, but I have given you my utmost support. Unfortunately, you remain unchanged; you choose deception and concealment instead of facing the sins you've committed. Even in the face of so much evidence, you still act this way." 0

Claire's eyes flickered as tears blurred her vision. She lowered her head, her hands tightly clasped together, her body trembling slightly. 0

Jack paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and continued, "Claire, you know we've checked your background; you have no criminal record. You could have had a normal life, but now you've chosen a completely different path. Do you know? If you could face the truth honestly, perhaps there would still be a chance for things to turn around. I really don't understand why you're doing this." 0

Claire's shoulders trembled slightly as tears continued to fall, but she kept her head down and remained silent. 0

"Claire, you must understand that this is not just about yourself. Mark's family needs answers; they have lost someone they love. They deserve to know the truth. Don't you think they deserve an explanation?" Jack's tone grew more severe, yet his heart was still filled with conflict and pain. 0

Looking at her with disappointment and anguish in his eyes, Jack said, "Claire, I truly wish you could face this honestly and tell us the truth. But now, I can only proceed based on this evidence and ask the prosecutor to charge you." 0

Claire kept her head down, tears streaming down her face. 0

Jack stood up, preparing to leave the interrogation room. Just then, Claire suddenly cried out, "Officer Jack... I want to know what will happen to me next? My... my family, my parents... oh my god, I can't even go to my brother's graduation because of this..." 0

Jack paused, silently looking at Claire. He felt deeply confused and bewildered by her behavior so far. This woman seemed unable to grasp the seriousness of the situation despite facing such grave accusations. 0

"Claire," Jack said slowly, his tone tinged with helplessness and sternness. "Based on the current evidence, which is quite substantial, the prosecutor can prepare to charge you at any time. You should find a lawyer as soon as possible." 0

Claire's tears continued to fall as her voice filled with despair and pain. "Jack, I really don't know what to do. I didn't kill him; I don't want to lose my family or miss my brother's graduation." 0

Jack took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He knew that this woman needed facts now, not sympathy. "Claire, you need to face reality. In your case, the worst outcome could be the death penalty, followed by life imprisonment." 0

Claire's face turned even paler, her body trembling slightly as she felt the fear and despair inside her deepen. "No... no, I don't want to die; I really didn't kill him. You have to believe me." 0

Jack looked at her helplessly, filled with conflicting emotions. "Claire, no matter what you say, we must act based on the evidence. If you truly want us to believe you, then you need to give us more truth and not these ridiculous stories." 0

Claire was left speechless; she knew she could no longer hide or escape but had to face the impending trial and punishment. The pressure and fear within her grew heavier, and no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn't break free from it all. 0

"Think carefully, Claire. A lawyer will come to help you, but in the end, only you can decide whether to face the truth." Jack said one last thing before turning and leaving the interrogation room. 0

Silence fell in the interrogation room as Claire sat there alone, tears blurring her vision. 0

The door of the interrogation room closed, leaving Claire in silence and solitude. Suddenly, she looked up in surprise to see Mark sitting in Jack's place with a gentle smile on his face. 0

"Oh... Claire, look at where you've ended up now; did you think you could escape all of this?" Mark's voice was soft but laced with sarcasm and mockery. 0

Claire's eyes were filled with terror and pain as she stared intently at Mark. She saw him pointing at the knife wounds on his body—deep enough to see bone, blood continuously dripping—creating a horrifying scene. 0

"Do you think you can escape all of this?" Mark continued, his voice growing colder. "These are your creations, Claire; you cannot run away from them." 0

Claire looked at everything in agony, feeling paralyzed, her body stiff as stone, with only her lips weakly moving, unable to produce any sound. Her heart was filled with despair and fear, as if trapped in an endless nightmare. 0

Mark stood up and walked in front of Claire, lowering his head to meet her gaze with his cold eyes. "You must face the truth, Claire. No matter how hard you struggle, you cannot escape your fate." 0

Tears streamed down Claire's face as her body trembled, the pain within her reaching its peak. She knew that no matter how she fought against it, nothing would change. She could not escape her destiny and could only confront the impending judgment and punishment. 0

"Mark... I really didn't kill you; I just... I was just scared..." Claire's voice trembled, as if pleading with the illusion of Mark, but she knew that no matter what she said, it would not change reality. 0

Mark's smile grew colder, his figure gradually becoming blurry, yet those icy eyes remained fixed on Claire. "Face your sins, Claire; this is your only choice." 0

In the face of such a scene, Claire's mouth involuntarily began to move as she softly sang "Amazing Grace." At first, her voice was shaky and weak, as if it would break at any moment, but as the melody flowed, her voice gradually became firm and clear. 0

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me..." 0

Claire's voice echoed in the interrogation room, carrying a deep sadness and helplessness but also hinting at a glimmer of hope. Her eyes were still filled with pain and despair, but the song seemed to give her a bit of strength to face the predicament before her. 0

As the song "Amazing Grace" continued, Mark's figure slowly faded away, and the blood and scars gradually disappeared as if carried away by the melody to another realm. Claire felt her inner pain and guilt lessen little by little with the music; although she knew reality remained harsh, at that moment, she seemed to find a moment of peace. 0

"Amazing Grace, my chains are gone; I've been set free..." 0
