Jack pushed open the door and walked up to the interrogation room, tightly gripping a folder in his hand. He took a deep breath, adjusted his mindset, and then firmly pushed open the large door of the interrogation room. Claire sat quietly in the chair, not making a sound, her expression calm, as if everything was under her control. 0

Jack sat down in front of Claire, his gaze stern as he spoke in a measured tone, "Miss, we have spent an hour and a half discussing your itinerary from June 2nd to June 5th. Despite your claims that you were often tired during this time, sleeping in the car or getting lost, a thirteen-hour trip has somehow turned into an extension of over twenty or thirty hours. I really can't make sense of it." 0

He paused for a moment to observe Claire's reaction. There was no flicker of emotion on her face; she maintained that indifferent demeanor. She slightly raised the corners of her mouth, seemingly amused and somewhat helpless regarding Jack's questioning. 0

"Detective Jack," she said softly, her voice gentle yet carrying a hint of barely perceptible provocation, "sometimes life is just unpredictable, isn't it? You know, unexpected things always happen on the road." 0

Jack remained unfazed, his gaze piercing as he continued, "But these unexpected events coincidentally align with the time of Mark's death. You claim you didn't stay at any hotels or inns and didn't meet anyone else during this time. Such coincidences are hard to believe." 0

Claire shrugged her shoulders, her eyes flickering with innocence and helplessness. "All I can say is that it really is a coincidence. Perhaps you should investigate more evidence instead of wasting time here with me." 0

Claire let out a soft sigh, resting her head on her hands, her fingertips brushing through her hair to push aside some strands. She lowered her head, diverting her gaze from Jack's eyes, her tone laced with helplessness and despair. "Detective Jack... I really don't know. I got lost on that road for a long time; my stupid phone died on me, and I had no way to find the right path. I wasted so much time because of that." 0

Her voice trembled slightly as if trying to evoke sympathy from Jack. Claire leaned forward slightly, resting her elbows on the table and gently massaging her temples with her fingers, appearing utterly exhausted. Her shoulders quivered slightly, conveying a sense of fragility and helplessness as she stole glances at Jack, attempting to read any hint of pity from his expression. 0

Claire's fingers continued to play with her hair, wrapping strands around her fingers before gently releasing them. These small gestures were filled with feminine charm and allure. She leaned forward a bit more, her gaze softening as she lowered her voice further. "You know, Detective, when someone is lost, time seems to pass so slowly, and I was really scared and helpless at that moment..." 0

Jack's expression remained cold; he understood that these were tactics Claire had used in the past. He knew she excelled at manipulating others' emotions through body language and expressions—every movement carefully crafted to confuse and mislead. 0

"Claire," Jack said in a calm yet firm tone, "being lost and having a dead phone can indeed be troublesome, but your explanation does not account for why you have so much extra time unaccounted for. You know we need actual evidence and reasonable explanations—not these vague excuses." 0

Claire's gaze flickered for a moment as if she were slightly shaken but quickly regained her composure; her eyes still held defiance and disdain. 0

Jack knew that Claire in front of him would only keep making excuses, finding loopholes to exploit; even the most unbelievable ideas could be spun into a story by her. He understood that he needed to intensify the pace of the interrogation and prolong the time, as Claire's will would further weaken, giving him more opportunities to pry open her mouth. Leaning back in his chair, he fixed his cold gaze on her and said in a calm yet firm tone, "Alright, Miss Claire, let's set aside the issue of your whereabouts for now." 0

Claire frowned slightly, seemingly surprised by Jack's sudden shift. A flicker of wariness crossed her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure, maintaining that innocent and helpless expression. 0

Jack slammed the folder in his hand onto the table, the documents producing a dull thud that shattered the silence in the interrogation room. He slowly opened the folder, scanning its contents before looking up at Claire with an even colder tone. "But I must let you know that we have gathered an overwhelming amount of evidence because the scene... was chaotic." 0

Claire's gaze involuntarily darted to the folder; her complexion shifted slightly but soon returned to her calm demeanor. She knew this was a psychological battle, and Jack was trying to break through her defenses with pressure. 0

"Evidence?" she chuckled lightly, her tone laced with provocation and disdain. "Detective Jack, how credible is the evidence you're talking about?" 0

Jack smirked coldly as he laid out photos and documents from the folder on the table, each image depicting the chaos and bloodshed at the crime scene. His fingers tapped rhythmically on the table, slow yet forceful. "These photos and documents are all evidence we collected from the scene. Every detail points to you, Claire. Do you really think you can escape legal consequences with just a few words?" 0

Claire looked at the folder on the table and exaggeratedly exclaimed, "Officer... that's impossible! I have never been to Mark's House! I couldn't possibly have been there!" 0

Jack took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled, his tone heavy yet resolute. "Listen, Claire, you and Mark are not a couple anymore, right? But you two... still maintain... a sexual relationship? Correct?" 0

Claire nodded slightly without any intention of hiding it, her eyes reflecting calmness and acceptance. "Yes, Detective Jack, we do have that kind of relationship. But that doesn't mean I went to his house or that I'm involved in his death." 0

Jack observed her expression and realized she wasn't going to easily compromise. His gaze grew even colder as he continued, "Claire, we found your fingerprints at Mark's House along with other evidence you left behind. Do you really think all of this is just coincidence?" 0

Claire's complexion changed slightly but she quickly regained her composure. "Fingerprints? That's impossible! I've never been to his house, Detective; this must be a mistake." 0

Jack's gaze sharpened as he pressed harder. "Claire, there was blood everywhere at the crime scene, along with traces of dragged bodies—your fingerprints were all over! All this evidence points to you; what more can you argue?" 0

Claire's face was pale, her gaze flickering, but she still insisted, "No, Detective, listen to me. I really haven't been there. I couldn't possibly have been at Mark's House; those fingerprints might be... they could be from when I accidentally left them on him before! But I absolutely did not participate in this!" 0

Her voice grew frantic, clearly laced with panic. Her fingers were clenched into fists, and her body trembled slightly, revealing her inner anxiety and unease. However, Jack remained calm, unaffected by her emotions. 0

"Claire, do you know?" Jack said coldly, "Every detail at the scene indicates that you were involved in this bloody massacre. You can deny it all you want, but the evidence doesn't lie. Your fingerprints, the traces you left behind, and the eyewitness testimonies are all undeniable facts." 0

A glimmer of despair flashed in Claire's eyes, but she stubbornly argued back, "No, that's impossible! You must be mistaken! I didn't do those things! How could I possibly have been there?" 0

Her voice grew louder and her emotions more intense as if she were trying to drown out her inner fear with sound. Jack watched her, silently resolving to break through her psychological defenses and make it impossible for her to continue lying. 0

"Claire," Jack's tone became more severe, "You'd better tell the truth now; it might still give you a chance for leniency. Continuing to deny it will only dig you deeper into a hole you can't escape from." 0

Claire bit her lip, a flicker of struggle in her eyes, but ultimately she chose not to compromise. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, and firmly stated, "Detective Jack, I did not do those things." 0
