After lunch, Song Pearl and Hong Xinran turned the attendance sign to its green side and then headed to the Inspection Station. 0

At the entrance, Song Pearl pushed the door open halfway and saw Gao Xiaoxia sitting with a young man who was delivering food, chatting away. She quickly closed the door again. 0

Song Pearl thought that there was still a long time before work started, so it would be better to check out the Six Workshop first. 0

She stopped a worker to ask where the New Workshop was. The worker took a while to think before pointing her in a direction. Following his directions, she walked a couple of turns and passed by a row of abandoned houses to reach her destination. 0

It was indeed hard to find. 0

Fortunately, the factory's roads were limited, and after walking around, Song Pearl finally spotted the row of abandoned houses that the worker had indicated. 0

The houses were somewhat dilapidated, with seals on the doors. Continuing past this row of houses and crossing another road led her to the New Workshop, where she could hear the rumbling sound of machines operating. 0

Song Pearl peeked into the workshop and was about to enter when someone stopped her. 0

"Hey, this is the Production Area. You can't go in without a hard hat or work uniform." 0

The person who stopped Song Pearl was wearing a mask, and their work uniform had a red armband that read "Safety." They were covered in a layer of white dust, with specks of powder clinging to their eyelashes. 0

"Oh, I didn't know." 0

It wasn't entirely her fault; no one had told her that she needed to wear a work uniform for her job. That morning, she had thought Gao Xiaoxia's outfit looked terrible but hadn't realized that she didn't even have an ugly work uniform to wear. 0

Being reprimanded didn't feel good, even though the person stopping her wasn't too harsh. 0

With her head down, Song Pearl planned to leave when suddenly she remembered something—besides the dust, there was another scent that she had overlooked. 0

It was the same atmosphere she felt when she first entered the factory. 0

She had gradually adapted to this atmosphere, and although it felt a bit intense earlier, she didn't pay much attention to it. 0

Song Pearl turned to look at the person who had blocked her; he had already walked quite far away. However, perched on his shoulder was a very beautiful cat, with pure white fur and no hint of color. 0

How did she not notice that before? Are pets allowed in the workshop? 0

As Song Pearl looked over, the cat gently leaped from the man's shoulder and landed on the safety helmet he was wearing. 0

"That guy looks like he has a bad temper, yet he keeps a cat?" Song Pearl bit her lip, recalling the paw print from her homeroom teacher's cat, and a sense of foreboding arose within her. 0

"Girl, have the test results for those two bags of soil I sent this morning come out yet?" 0

Song Pearl was lost in thought when she was startled by a sudden voice beside her. 0

She didn't answer but instead said, "Look, is that person from your workshop? He seems strange; what is he doing?" 0

Song Pearl pointed at the worker who had walked far away; he had turned and entered the workshop. 0

**Furrowing his brow, he said, "Wait here for a moment; I'll go check it out." 0

**His name is Wan Jiang, the head of Six Workshop. The person wearing the armband is the safety officer for this workshop. 0

There was a newly dug well in the workshop. Because it was dug so deep without yielding any water, and with the company pushing for production, they left it unattended for now. 0

Unexpectedly, someone had taken it as a restroom; either sneaking over to defecate or to smoke. 0

Wan Jiang watched as the security guard rushed by, instinctively feeling that he was also heading to the restroom, which was a violation of regulations. So, Wan Jiang quickly chased after him, ready to catch him in the act. 0

Song Pearl didn’t think that the person was going to the restroom. Seeing Wan Jiang striding purposefully forward, she ran after him, intending to find out what was going on. 0

This was a large door at the edge of the workshop, with ample space and a smell of earth; the ground was not made of concrete. It was gloomy and somewhat messy. 0

The worker from earlier had already walked past a high mound of dirt, having taken off his hard hat and holding it in his hand. The cat that had been sitting on top was no longer there. 0

“Sun Yuzhu, stop right there!” Wan Jiang quickened his pace and ran over. He sensed something was off; if Sun Yuzhu didn’t stop soon, he would inevitably fall into the dry well after taking a few more steps. 0

Wan Jiang’s shout was deafening and effective, but Sun Yuzhu merely glanced back at him without responding and turned away again. 0

When Sun Yuzhu turned back again, he saw a girl behind Wan Jiang smiling at him with a smirk, which ignited a surge of anger within him. 0

“Hey, I told you earlier that you can’t enter the workshop without wearing work clothes and a hard hat. How did you misunderstand that? Don’t think you can just come in because you’re with the director!” Sun Yuzhu took a step back and turned towards Wan Jiang and Song Pearl. 0

“Alright, enough about her. Let’s talk about you. Are you out of your mind or what? If I hadn’t shouted just now, you would have fallen into that well…” Wan Jiang yelled. “And you took off your hard hat; are you trying to go against me?” 0

“I didn’t! Director Wan, don’t misunderstand…” Sun Yuzhu touched his head, unsure when he had taken off his hard hat. “I’m just conducting a routine safety inspection; why would I jump into a well? I just ran into this kid at the workshop entrance and stopped her from leaving… Right, why would I be heading to this warehouse?” 0

“Do you have a cat?” Song Pearl asked. “A very beautiful White Cat.” 0

“Who has a cat? Don’t joke around and take revenge on me!” Sun Yuzhu took off his mask. “Can you bring a cat to work?” 0

“Just now, I saw one on your shoulder,” Song Pearl replied truthfully. 0

“No way! Director Wan, don’t listen to this Girl’s nonsense,” Sun Yuzhu said angrily. 0

Wan Jiang pondered for a moment, then looked at the well and said, "The Night Shift Supervisor drilled into this well. Fortunately, the fall wasn't severe. Now you're going to jump in as well. Is there something wrong with this well... or should we contact someone immediately to fill it in?" 0

Wan Jiang stepped out of the workshop and instructed, "Go right now! Bring the excavator and some people along. Don't come alone; finish this by this afternoon." 0

"Okay, I understand." 0

Sun Yuzhu hadn't felt anything unusual at first, but upon reflecting on the earlier situation, he felt a bit of sweat on his back. He was unclear why he had stood on the edge of that well that had not been dug out for water. 0

Wan Jiang brought Song Pearl to the office and found a safety helmet for her to wear. "If you want to take a look at the workshop, let's go together. I'm also an outsider; the company insisted I take on this supervisor role, and I'm still learning!" 0

Song Pearl took the helmet and put it on her head. It was a bit too big, and she didn't know how to adjust it, so she had to hold onto the brim with one hand. 0

"Actually, I think this production process isn't complicated at all. It's just about feeding materials here, crushing them, then burning and granulating over there. After passing through several screens, the fertilizer comes out. What you're doing is truly complex; you have to determine what our produced granules are..." 0

"Granules?" Song Pearl asked. 0

"Uh, not exactly granules, but I think this is what they are," Wan Jiang said as he grabbed a handful of pea-sized particles from the conveyor belt and spread them in his palm. "See, isn't this just like granules?" 0

"Yes," Song Pearl nodded, but the helmet slipped down over her eyes, so she quickly raised her hand to adjust it. 0

The color of these particles was similar to that of a bag of soil she received in the morning; they didn't look as nice as the fertilizers her family had used. 0

"Is there a testing report for this?" Song Pearl asked. 0

"Yes, the company has already sent the materials to the relevant departments. If you haven't seen it, you can ask Minister Liu for a copy," Wan Jiang said as he tossed the granules onto the belt. "We're testing today; we might have products coming out by tonight. You'd better familiarize yourself with it first." 0

Wan Jiang led Song Pearl through clean areas where she didn't get much dust on her clothes. 0

Song Pearl returned the helmet to Wan Jiang and left the workshop. 0

As she walked to the row of houses sealed with tape, she happened to encounter Sun Yuzhu driving a loader, with several workers holding iron tools sitting in the large bucket of the loader. 0

"Hey, it's already work time, hurry up," Sun Yuzhu shouted at Song Pearl. 0

The dust on Sun Yuzhu's face was gone, and she smiled at Song Pearl with a look of schadenfreude. 0

Song Pearl hurried her pace. When she arrived at the Inspection Station, Minister Liu was chatting with Gao Xiaoxia, who was smiling with her lips pressed together. 0

"Song Pearl, why are you late again?" 0

Upon seeing Song Pearl, Minister Liu's plump face fell. 0
