In the midst of the clouds and mist, the Purple Palace of the Jade Emperor stands like a wonder from another world. The golden roofs of the palace shimmer in the sunlight, and the meandering blue river seems to isolate time and space.
The Jade Emperor sits on the throne, holding a precious pearl, with eyes as sharp as torches. His robe exudes elegance and dignity. Within the grand hall of the palace, bronze censers emit a faint aroma, bringing peace to the mind.
" Wu Sheng, Hang Lin, you have arrived," the voice of the Jade Emperor echoed throughout the entire hall, each word as stirring as thunder.
Two figures slowly walked in. One was Wu Sheng, clad in silver armor, wearing a jeweled crown, with a resolute face that seemed to have weathered countless trials. The other was Hang Lin, dressed in a blue robe, with a turban on his head, and a mischievous expression on his face.
"Jade Emperor, we are here," Wu Sheng and Hang Lin bowed at the same time, then resumed their positions.
"There is an urgent matter that requires your presence in the mortal realm," Jade Emperor said as the light from the precious pearl in his hand slowly spun. "Go and seek out an entity known as 'The Immortal in the Painting.'"
Wu Sheng and Hang Lin exchanged a glance, but neither said much to each other.
"It is said that he can hide in the painting. We are not yet clear about his purpose, but there have been some ominous signs," said the Jade Emperor with a hint of seriousness in his tone.
Wu Sheng looked serious and asked, "So, how should we go about finding him?"
At that moment, a deity walked in - it was none other than Qingyun Zhenren, in charge of intelligence. He held a scroll of immortal book containing various information.
" Your Majesty, according to the information we have, residents of several small towns claim to have seen a mysterious scholar whose paintings possess incredible abilities."
Jade Emperor took the immortal book, glanced through it, and then passed it to Wu Sheng and Hang Lin.
Wu Sheng took a glance and then turned to Hang Lin, "It seems we have a lead."
Hang Lin nodded, "In that case, let's start with these few small towns first."
Jade Emperor gave them a profound look: "As for this person's identity and purpose, you will investigate in the mortal realm. Remember, this matter is of great importance."
"Understood," Wu Sheng and Hang Lin replied in unison.
"After you are ready, set off immediately," the Jade Emperor said, as a golden light flew out from the pearl, surrounding Wu Sheng and Hang Lin.
Two people felt a warm current passing through their bodies, and then the Jade Emperor's treasure beads once again shone, sending them to the mortal world.
Wu Sheng and Hang Lin incarnated as mortals, descending in a small town called "Yun Cui Town."
The golden light gradually disappeared, and Wu Sheng and Hang Lin found themselves in a bustling city. The scenery here is pleasant, with a bustling crowd.
Wu Sheng looked around and realized they needed to quickly adapt to everything here. Hang Lin seemed more relaxed, straightened their clothes, and said with a smile, "It seems that this mortal world is really bustling."
"Whether it's bustling or not is not our concern," Wu Sheng replied briefly. "Our mission is to find The Immortal in the Painting and not get distracted."
Hang Lin smiled briefly, seeming unfazed by Wu Sheng's seriousness. "Alright, let's begin then."
The two of them began to inquire about The Immortal in the Painting in the crowd, although at first it was almost all fragmented information. However, after their in-depth investigation, some strange rumors about The Immortal in the Painting gradually surfaced.
"Do you feel it?" Wu Sheng asked.
"Hmm, there's an unusual atmosphere Hang Lin here," said.
They arrived at an inn called "Beyond the Clouds," where the guests inside were gathered together, murmuring quietly.
"I heard that the paintings of that artist can make people dream, and even fulfill their wishes," said a middle-aged man.
"Yes, but some people also say that those who have their wishes fulfilled will suffer misfortune," added a woman.
Wu Sheng and Hang Lin exchanged a glance and decided to split up. Wu Sheng went to investigate the mysterious painter, while Hang Lin went to find the people affected by the paintings.
Wu Sheng walked to a secluded corner where there was an ordinary-looking painting stall. But as he approached, he immediately felt a strong demonic power.
The owner of the stall is a young man, his eyes are somewhat hazy, as if hiding an endless abyss.
He holds a pen in his hand, drawing a dreamlike fairyland picture. The mountains, rivers, trees, and flowing water in the painting all exude an indescribable vitality, making it difficult for people to look away.
"Hello, sir. Your paintings are all very outstanding," Wu Sheng spoke calmly.
The man paused with his brush in hand, glanced at Wu Sheng, and smiled, "Thank you. I just paint in my spare time. But I have never met anyone with such a unique vision like yours."
Wu Sheng was surprised, there seemed to be a hidden meaning in the man's words. He looked at Hang Lin, who also felt the same unusual sensation.
"Have you ever heard of 'The Immortal in the Painting'?" Wu Sheng locked eyes with the man, trying to find some clues.
"The Immortal in the Painting?" The man scratched his head in confusion, then suddenly smiled. "Oh, that. It's indeed an interesting name. Are you here because of him?"
Wu Sheng and Hang Lin exchanged a glance, both sensing the seriousness of the situation. Wu Sheng replied, "We are here to find him and understand his true purpose."
"Okay, I understand," the man put down his paintbrush.
Seeing the painting suddenly come to life and swoop towards them, Wu Sheng and Hang Lin simultaneously unleashed their spells, attempting to block this sudden attack.
Wu Sheng Waving his hand, a gust of wind followed, pushing back the flying paintings. Hang Lin quickly chanted a spell, and a golden light emitted from his palm, shining on the moving paintings.
"These paintings are extraordinary!" Hang Lin said sharply.
The young man couldn't help but show a hint of surprise when he saw this, but then he smiled. "Immortals, I won't accompany you any longer. I'll take my leave first."
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure blurred and seemed to turn into a wisp of smoke, quickly disappearing into the air.
Wu Sheng and Hang Lin quickly sealed off the surrounding space, but it was already too late, the man had escaped.
"It seems he is not just an ordinary monster," Wu Sheng said in a low voice, squinting slightly.
Hang Lin Shaking his head: "Regardless, his paintings have caused us a lot of trouble. He must be 'The Immortal in the Painting'."
Wu Sheng stared at the paintings they had blocked, suddenly all of them burst into flames and turned to ashes. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "These paintings contain strong demonic power. We need to be more careful."
Hang Lin: "Letting him escape this time was our negligence, but next time, he won't have such an opportunity again."
At this moment, another figure suddenly appeared in front of them. This person was wearing a long robe of emerald green, with a phoenix crown on his head. It was none other than The Divine Master of the Void Sky, another immortal above the three realms.
" Wu Sheng, Hang Lin, any progress on your end?" The Divine Master of the Void Sky looked at the two with intense gaze.
"The Divine Master of the Void Sky, we are currently investigating," Wu Sheng immediately responded.
"So, you must pick up the pace. 'The Immortal in the Painting' has such demonic power that letting him grow further will surely lead to a loss of control. You need to be more vigilant and must not let him escape again," said The Divine Master of the Void Sky solemnly.
Wu Sheng and Hang Lin bowed, feeling the weight of responsibility on their shoulders.
The Divine Master of the Void SkyTurned into a wisp of blue smoke and vanished into the air,
