Transforming Cloud Palm is the most basic palm technique among the three styles, utilizing Vital Energy to generate energy that can be used for combat. However, it has become somewhat obsolete; while it can still deal with low-level martial artists, it is evidently ineffective against those of a higher realm.
In contrast, Transforming Cloud Palm is much more profound. Although it also uses Vital Energy to unleash power, it discards the concept of energy and instead employs airflow, making it more mysterious. The palms create an inexplicable Suction, gathering airflow between them, thus controlling the speed of the palm strikes. The airflow becomes as dense as lead, capable of overcoming opponents.
Cloud Manipulation Palm left Wang Yi somewhat disappointed because, according to the description in the technique manual, this palm technique does not differ significantly from Pushing Cloud Palm. Both utilize energy for combat; however, this technique possesses greater lethality. In Wang Yi's eyes, if practiced as described in the manual, its power would not surpass that of his self-created Transforming Cloud Palm.
Nevertheless, Wang Yi did not give up, as he believed he could uncover the potential mysteries within Cloud Manipulation Palm.
The entire mind of Divine Capital was immersed in the technique manual of Cloud Manipulation Palm, contemplating and searching for its subtleties and patterns.
At the same time, a trivial piece of news spread through Rong City, causing a significant stir. Within less than half a night, it became common knowledge that a young master from a certain Sect had visited Rong City, having encountered no opponents thus far. This person was named Wang Yi.
Unbeknownst to all this, Wang Yi remained seated on his bed, resembling an old monk in meditation.
Cloud Manipulation Palm could be described as manipulating clouds through one's own strength to control energy for personal use.
However, what Wang Yi needed was not just a simple Cloud Manipulation Palm, but rather a technique that could break through the limitations of Transforming Cloud Palm.
Night faded away.
The next day, warm sunlight streamed through the window and illuminated Wang Yi, bathing him in a golden ocean of warmth.
Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Wang Yi focused his energy in his Dantian, regulating his breathing.
"Whoosh." A mouthful of turbid air was slowly exhaled, instantly refreshing his spirit. Wang Yi gradually opened his eyes, which sparkled with brilliance.
He stood up straight, and a series of cracking sounds echoed from his spine to his tailbone, resembling popping beans.
After a night of contemplation, one would expect to feel exhausted; however, Wang Yi felt no fatigue at all. Instead, he felt an explosive surge of power coursing through his body.
“Mysterious Pearl” is indeed marvelous; it makes cultivation twice as effective with half the effort. Wang Yi gazed through the window at the clear blue sky. It is known that ordinary martial artists cannot cultivate for too long; the longer they cultivate, the stronger the feeling of fatigue in their bodies. For instance, after five hours of cultivation, they would need at least three hours of rest for the fatigue to dissipate.
However, Wang Yi does not need to do this. With the Mysterious Pearl, he can cultivate endlessly without wasting a moment, allowing him to shorten the gap between himself and other self-cultivating martial artists.
Gurgle, gurgle!
A wave of hunger spread throughout his body. Wang Yi rubbed his stomach and revealed a faint bitter smile.
Soon after, Wang Yi left his room and headed downstairs.
“Sir, what would you like to eat? We have Black Mountain Ape Tiger Meat, Longquan White Fish, Yunshan Bear Paw, and Daughter's Red that has been aged for decades,” a smiling attendant stood respectfully nearby and inquired.
“Bring me a few of your signature dishes, and also a pot of Daughter's Red!” Wang Yi nodded in response.
After a while, the food and drinks were served, and Wang Yi sat down by the window.
The meat was tender and juicy, lean yet not tough, fatty yet not greasy, with an inviting aroma of wine.
“Hey, buddy, does that Wang Yi really stay at your inn?” asked a bearded man at the next table. This man was strong and robust, with thick black hair and large eyes.
Next to him sat two other burly men; one wore Vine Armor that revealed his solid muscles, while the other had his chest bare with a terrifying scar on his left cheek that made him look like a hellish demon.
“This… Sir, I can’t disclose customer information,” the attendant said cautiously as his small eyes darted slightly, revealing a glimmer of shrewdness.
A silver coin was tossed from the bearded man's hand and landed in front of the attendant. “If what you say is true, this silver is yours.”
“Sir is too kind.” Upon seeing the silver coin, the attendant's eyes lit up as he quickly tucked it away and chuckled. “Sir, I assure you that Wang Yi indeed stays at our inn; he arrived last evening.” His voice suddenly dropped significantly as he glanced at Wang Yi, who was quietly eating. He whispered, “That gentleman over there is him.” With that, he hurriedly walked away.
"Having traveled this far without tasting defeat, what a bold claim." The bearded man slammed his palm on the table and shouted angrily.
"Big Brother, this guy is too arrogant. Why don't we teach him a lesson and let him know that there are others out there, and that he is not the only one?" The Thorned Armored Man said in a low voice. His voice suddenly rose, echoing in the inn like thunder.
"I hear that Wang Yi is a young disciple of the Sect, a formidable talent."
"Yes! I've heard he has challenged many young masters along his journey and has never lost."
"Then which sect does this person belong to? Do you know?"
"Wang Yi!" Wang Yi frowned and muttered to himself, thinking, "Could it be that there is someone else in this world with the same name as mine? It's better to keep a low profile. Never tasted defeat? That's too arrogant. It seems these strong men are going to find trouble with this Wang Yi."
Sure enough, just as Wang Yi thought this, the three strong men at the next table stood up almost simultaneously, striding over with confidence.
Smack!
The Thorned Armored Man swung his palm down like a fan, creating a gust of wind that struck the table where Wang Yi was sitting. The teacup shook, spilling tea everywhere, and the food scattered chaotically, crashing to the ground in pieces.
The three men were strong and robust, their eyes wide open with fierce gazes landing on Wang Yi's face like sharp blades, seemingly ready to tear him apart.
Even a dragon crossing the river must be cautious; how much more so for a martial artist who has yet to make a name for himself? Suppressing his anger, Wang Yi calmly poured himself a cup of tea, took a small sip, and asked nonchalantly, "I don't believe I've met you three before?"
"Hmph, are you Wang Yi?" The Thorned Armored Man glared with wide eyes and grunted.
Hearing this, Wang Yi was taken aback and couldn't help but wonder if they were referring to him. But was he really that impressive? As the saying goes, knowing oneself and knowing the enemy ensures victory in every battle. Once his emotions settled down, he asked, "Who might you three be?"
"We are the Rongcheng Three Bullies. Your brother's name is well-known; it's normal for you not to have heard of us nameless fellows," Scarface replied.
"I'm just an ordinary passerby; how can I be considered well-known? I think you brothers must have mistaken me!" Wang Yi smiled lightly, stood up, clasped his fists together, and said, "I am new here. If I have disturbed you in any way, please forgive me."
Scarface snorted coldly and said unceremoniously, "Hmph, kid, stop the nonsense. Since you stepped out, you haven't tasted defeat, right?"
"Are you three mistaken?" Wang Yi gradually reined in his smile and said lightly. He already had a rough idea in his mind; it was highly likely that someone wanted to harm him. Otherwise, why would such exaggerated rumors be spread? Isn't that asking for death?
"What? Mistaken?" Armored Giant raised his eyebrows, his eyes gleaming with cold light, and said, "Kid, whether you are Wang Yi or not, you need to give us an explanation. If you dare to toy with us three brothers, I think you're tired of living!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Yi's expression suddenly turned cold, and he said in an icy voice, "What if I don't?"
"This kid is finished."
"Yeah! Encountering Three Tyrants doesn't end well."
"Sigh, let's get out of here! I don't want to suffer."
Before the words were finished, Scarface's expression changed. He swung his fist down onto the table with a bang, shattering it into pieces, wooden planks flying everywhere.
Wang Yi swiftly rolled away, stomping his right foot on the ground as he retreated and coldly said, "You three shouldn't be too reckless!"
The boss at the counter was counting money with a smile on his face when he heard the noise. He gasped in shock; his two mustaches trembled as he cursed under his breath and rushed over. Upon seeing Three Tyrants, his angry gaze suddenly shrank, and he spoke in a pitiful tone, "Gentlemen, please don't be angry. This meal is completely free. I hope you can calm down; there's no need to ruin the atmosphere over a small matter..."
"Get lost!" Scarface glared fiercely and waved his hand violently. The force sent the Fat Boss, who was plump in stature, staggering back until he fell to the ground.
"Gentlemen, our shop has thin profits. If you have any issues, please resolve them outside!" The boss coughed twice; it seemed that Scarface hadn't used much strength. Struggling to get up and seeing the empty inn, he pleaded with a face full of desperation. The worst thing about doing business is encountering these ruffians; with such a commotion, who would dare come here to eat again?
"Shut your mouth!" Scarface's face was filled with ferocity as he spoke; the scar on his face made him look exceptionally terrifying.
"Third Master, there are elders above and juniors below; please show mercy!" Fat Boss was so scared that tears and snot flowed together, his voice filled with unparalleled sorrow that moved anyone who heard it.
“Bastard……” Scarface was furious, raising his fist to strike the fat boss. This punch was full of power; if the fat boss took it, he would be either dead or severely injured.
In a split second, Wang Yi shouted, “Stop!”
“I am Wang Yi. If there's something to discuss, we can go outside. There's no need to pick a fight with someone who can't even lift a chicken.” Wang Yi said calmly.
“Alright, Third Brother, let him go. We’ll step outside.” The speaker was not Armored Man, but the previously silent Bearded Man, whose eyes were as dark as coal yet exceptionally bright. This man stood eight feet tall, with a muscular build and thick eyebrows.
“Let’s go.” Both Scarface and Armored Man seemed to fear the bearded man and immediately released the fat boss.
Wang Yi appeared to disregard the Rongcheng Three Bullies, downing a cup of Daughter's Red before stepping out of the inn.
“This guy is quite a man,” Armored Man remarked, seeing Wang Yi so carefree.
“Big Brother, this guy doesn’t take us seriously at all. Let me teach him a lesson first,” Scarface said, cracking his knuckles as if he could burst the air around him.
“Alright, then Third Brother, you go and test him first,” the bearded man nodded.
