Mu Jiangfeng watched all of this with a heavy heart, imagining the despair of a five-year-old child realizing they had been deceived by adults. He could only think of how much pain Lan Baobao would feel upon discovering that her daughter had been kidnapped, and the depth of her resentment towards herself would be proportional to her heartache. Mu Jiangfeng simply did not want to think any further.
Sure enough, the car stopped at a distance from the Zhang Family. Then, Mu Jiangfeng and Mu Jiao'er got out and slowly walked towards the vicinity of the Zhang Family. Although the Zhang Family was not particularly wealthy, their home was surrounded by a wall. The two of them hid outside the wall, quietly observing the changes inside the house.
"Ah!" Suddenly feeling a sharp pain in her neck, Mu Jiao'er turned around in dissatisfaction and complained to Mu Jiangfeng: "What are you doing?"
"I saw a bug and squashed it for you," Mu Jiangfeng said with a look of disdain, then held out the squashed bug as evidence in front of Mu Jiao'er.
"Ugh, that's terrifying! Get rid of it quickly!" As a woman who was used to being pampered, Mu Jiao'er naturally recoiled at the sight of the bug, wanting nothing more than to jump away from it.
Mu Jiangfeng disdainfully tossed the dead bug aside, curious about how someone as ruthless as Mu Jiao'er could be afraid of such a small creature.
Sure enough, within moments, Mu Jiao'er spotted Ruo Ruo walking out from the house through the gap in the wall. Instantly, she perked up and exclaimed, "Quick, quick! She's coming! She's coming!"
Ruo Ruo wandered around the yard for a few moments but found nothing interesting aside from some unattractive wildflowers and ugly potted plants. However, her gaze inadvertently caught sight of a Barbie Doll bouncing around at the entrance, and she couldn't help but be drawn to it.
Naturally, children have an innate curiosity about unknown or interesting things, so Ruo Ruo tossed aside the wildflowers in her hand and eagerly ran after the doll she had seen.
Once outside, she saw two adults in front of her—one beautiful and charming, the other handsome and imposing. Ruo Ruo simply stared at them blankly without initiating conversation.
Mu Jiao'er, looking at Ruo Ruo, smiled warmly as if she were truly an affectionate aunt. However, Mu Jiangfeng was unwilling to witness such a scene. Although he could not stop it, he could only try his best to refrain from intervening to lessen his own feelings of guilt.
"Ruo Ruo, do you like it?" Mu Jiao'er asked sweetly while shaking the Barbie in her hand and crouching down in an endearing manner.
As she leaned forward slightly, her chest exuded an even more alluring charm. It was no wonder that women like her could easily capture men's hearts.
But for Ruo Ruo, what attracted her even more was the Barbie in Mu Jiao'er's hand. It seemed to blink its eyes playfully as if beckoning her closer.
"How do you know my name?" Ruo Ruo tilted her head as if trying to recall where she had seen this aunt before. In an effort to appear friendly and approachable, Mu Jiao'er had dressed down a bit today, giving off a vibe reminiscent of a neighborly older sister.
"I certainly know your name because we are all good friends of your mommy!" Mu Jiao'er said, feeling relieved when she noticed that Ruo Ruo did not seem to reject her. She continued in a friendly manner.
"Mommy?" It had been a long time since Ruo Ruo had heard that term, and suddenly thinking about it brought a feeling of wanting to cry. After all, she was just a girl, and her dependence on her mother should be greater. It had been so long since she last saw Lan Baobao, and naturally, she missed her very much.
"Yes, this is also something your mommy bought for you, and we came to give it to you." Mu Jiao'er said as she handed the Barbie in her hand to Ruo Ruo.
"Where is Mommy?" Upon receiving the Barbie, Ruo Ruo did not seem as happy as expected; instead, she became curious about the mommy mentioned by Mu Jiao'er and looked around, trying to find Lan Baobao's figure.
"Your mommy can't come out to pick you up right now because she has something to attend to, but she really misses you. That's why she sent me and this uncle to take you to meet her." Mu Jiao'er squatted down, maintaining a very friendly demeanor, completely different from her earlier fierce appearance. Even Mu Jiangfeng couldn't help but admire her; she truly was a woman with great skills.
"Did Mommy send you to pick me up?" Although Ruo Ruo didn't quite understand everything, she seemed more alert and calm than most children. Looking at the two adults in front of her, despite their friendly demeanor, she was still hesitant to follow them blindly.
"What about Brother and Great-Grandfather?" Ruo Ruo turned around; she could still see a glimpse of Mu Mu at the door. It was known that Ruo Ruo loved to stick close to her brother. Even if she didn't like being in certain places, as long as her brother was there, she would be willing to follow him.
"Your mommy can't let your daddy know where she is right now, so we can't bring too many people to see her at once. This time it's just our Ruo Ruo. Tomorrow we will bring Mumu over to stay for a while." Mu Jiao'er was quite skilled at weaving lies; whatever Ruo Ruo asked, she could answer smoothly while maintaining a calm expression.

"Great! Ruo Ruo is so obedient!" Mu Jiao'er picked up Ruo Ruo and pretended to be very fond of her as she kissed her cheek. Then she prepared to leave with her, actually worried about taking too long outside; if someone came looking for them, they might not be able to escape in time.
Mu Jiangfeng followed behind, watching Mu Jiao'er eagerly wanting to leave while holding the child. He dropped something from his hand and then felt relieved as they left.
The first person to notice that Ruo Ruo was missing was Mu Mu. Although he usually liked to act tough in front of Ruo Ruo and seemed indifferent towards her, it was entirely because of the vanity brought by Ruo Ruo's blind admiration for him that he cared more about his little sister than anyone else.
In the past, even though Ruo Ruo would sometimes play outside alone, she would usually come back after a while to bother him. But now that so much time had passed without any sign of her, an ominous premonition began to rise within Mu Mu.
So he quietly stepped outside and searched around nearby but found no trace of Ruo Ruo. He was exhausted and sweating profusely; some of that sweat was due to worry. Until he reached the gate of the courtyard, his attention was suddenly drawn to something shiny on the ground.
Squatting down, he picked up what turned out to be a silver diamond-studded necklace. Although Mu Mu was only five years old, he understood that this necklace was quite valuable and must have been left behind by a wealthy person.
A wave of ominous feelings surged within him, and Mu Mu felt dizzy, experiencing for the first time an urge to cry out loud.
He didn't want to imagine how scared and lonely Ruo Ruo would be without him by her side, but he couldn't be sure who would do such a thing. Nevertheless, he had already formed his own ideas.
Seeing the necklace, Mu Mu immediately understood that the innocent Ruo Ruo must have been kidnapped. But he was just a child, and Grandpa Ye was already quite old; it seemed that the only person who could help Ruo Ruo now was him—Ye Zixun.
However, if he told Ye Zixun that Ruo Ruo was missing, it would likely mean that the news about Lan Baobao having run away from home would also come out. But now there were no other options. Although Mu Mu strongly disagreed with many of Ye Zixun's lifestyle choices and attitudes towards Lan Baobao, he still had considerable faith in his father's abilities.
"Auntie, where is my mommy right now?" After riding in Mu Jiao'er’s car for a while, Ruo Ruo, who had initially been excited to see her mother, now felt anxious and restless because she was accompanied by two strangers. Thinking about how far she was from Mu Mu made her feel sad, but to avoid showing her sadness, she held back the tears in her eyes.
"She's in a very safe place," Mu Jiao'er replied coldly while driving. From the moment she picked Ruo Ruo up and started the car, Mu Jiao'er had long since lost her patience. No matter how cute or pretty this child was, she was still Lan Baobao's child. If it weren't for these two kids, the position of Young Mistress of the Ye Family that she could have easily obtained wouldn't have been taken away so easily. So it was already her limit not to harm this child; being kind to her was simply impossible.
"When can I see Mommy?" Not receiving a reassuring answer, Ruo Ruo continued to hold onto her only source of comfort—a Barbie doll—while trying to hold back her tears.
"You'll see her when the time comes!" Mu Jiao'er's tone grew increasingly harsh; her words had completely reverted to their true nature, resembling that of a wicked stepmother.
Innocent Ruo Ruo couldn't understand why someone who seemed so kind could suddenly turn into a villain. Just moments ago, this aunt had acted as if she liked her very much; now there was impatience in her voice, making Ruo Ruo feel rejected and deceived. Unable to hold back any longer, she burst into tears.
