Around 8 PM, Wei Fan arrived at the door of the old house. The door was locked from the inside, and he pushed it but couldn’t get it open. 0
“Mu Fan, open the door!” he knocked on it. 0
“Brother, what’s wrong?” Mu Fan asked from inside. 0
“That crazy woman is making a scene at my place; I can’t sleep. I’m staying here for the night.” 0
The door opened, and Mu Fan looked at his brother with a troubled expression. “Brother, why don’t you talk to our mother-in-law? Maybe give her some money to settle things?” 0
“Give her what money?” Wei Fan glared at his younger brother. “Why should I pay her?” 0
“Brother, she is still an elder…” 0
“Stop talking nonsense! Let me in!” Wei Fan pushed past his brother and entered the house. 0

The old house had several rooms, and Wei Fan headed straight for the one that used to be his. Even though he had already moved to a new place, he felt drawn back to this familiar space. 0

When Juhua saw her brother-in-law enter, her expression soured. The two children also kept their distance, clearly frightened. Wei Fan entered his room, lit the kerosene lamp, and lay down on the bed. 0

But he couldn’t sleep at all; his mind was filled with Old Jin’s curses and the foul smell permeating the room. Outside, Old Jin continued her relentless tirade. 0
“That crazy woman!” Wei Fan tossed and turned in bed, growing angrier by the minute. 0

He was already unwell and had trouble sleeping; now this disturbance left him completely restless. His stomach began to ache again, and his head felt heavy. 0
“Is she trying to drive me to my death?” 0

Wei Fan sat up, gritting his teeth as he said, “Since none of you want me to have peace, don’t blame me for what happens next!” 0

At 1 AM, the entire mountain village fell into a deathly silence. Wei Fan sat under the kerosene lamp for three whole hours, his gaze growing colder and more sinister. His stomach twisted in pain, his head throbbed, but the hatred in his heart only burned brighter. 0

"It's all your fault!" he muttered through gritted teeth. "If I can't live, then no one else will have it easy!" 0

He stood up and walked to the door, kicking it hard. 0

"Bang!" 0

The loud noise echoed sharply in the stillness of the night. 0

In the next room, Mu Fan and Juhua were startled awake by the sudden sound. 0

"What’s going on?" Mu Fan sat up groggily. 0

"It's your brother kicking the door," Juhua said nervously. "What does he want?" 0

Wei Fan shouted from outside, "Open the door! Everyone open the door for me!" 0

"Brother, it's late. Can we talk about this tomorrow?" Mu Fan called through the door. 0

"Open the door!" Wei Fan kicked again, making the door creak ominously. 0

Juhua's face turned pale with fear as she sensed danger. She quickly got up and grabbed a shovel from the corner to brace against the door. 0

"Mu Fan, get up! Your brother is acting strange!" Juhua said, trembling. 0

Mu Fan realized something was wrong and hurriedly put on his clothes. 0

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" 0

Wei Fan was kicking the door furiously, and the wooden frame was starting to give under his violent assault. 0

"Calm down, brother! Let's talk this out!" Mu Fan shouted loudly. 0

"Talk it out?" Wei Fan let out a chilling laugh. "There's nothing left to say now!" 0

The hinges at the bottom of the door finally loosened after continuous kicks, and the frame began to warp. 0

Juhua desperately pushed against the door with the shovel, but as a woman, she couldn't withstand Wei Fan's brute strength. 0

"Crack!" 0

A gap opened at the bottom of the door. 0

"Mu Fan! Run!" Juhua shouted with all her might, trying to block the opening. 0
