Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya left the Kaimanwei Family, bowing and nodding as they watched Jiang Chen depart. Dawson Caymanwei could no longer hold himself together and collapsed onto the ground.
At that moment, many of his clan members had already suffered casualties, but for now, they had managed to save a few lives, which made Dawson feel a bit relieved.
"How am I supposed to find the whereabouts of that bronze artifact in three days?" Dawson Caymanwei murmured, feeling despondent. He didn’t believe he could lie his way out of this situation. Just seeing Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya sent chills down his spine, especially Jiang Chen, who was simply terrifying in strength.
"Clan Leader, what just happened?" The surviving members of the Kaimanwei Family gathered around Dawson. Seeing their Clan Leader in such a state, their spirits sank, and an ominous premonition rose in their hearts. After all, the Clan Leader had just respectfully sent off those two Huaxia People.
"The Undead Knight has been killed. Our Kaimanwei Family no longer has a protector. Moreover, those two Huaxia People are going to strip our family of all its treasures. The Kaimanwei Family is finished," Dawson sighed heavily.
"How is that possible? The Undead Knight was invincible! How could Miss Qin be so powerful?"
"It’s not Miss Qin who’s powerful; it’s that Hua Xia Young Man. Just moments ago in the underground tomb, he casually turned the Undead Knight to ashes. It was terrifying! To us, the nearly invincible Undead Knight was nothing more than an ant in his eyes. I truly don’t understand how we got entangled with someone like him," Dawson lamented.
The members of the Kaimanwei Family looked horrified. The Undead Knight had been slain? This blow was too great for them to bear. However, this was not even the most devastating part; the most critical issue was that they had offended a being far more formidable than the Undead Knight.
If it were just the death of the Undead Knight, it would certainly impact the future development of the Kaimanwei Family but wouldn’t be catastrophic. Without the Undead Knight, they would simply become an ordinary family; yet with their years of accumulated wealth, they could still remain a top family. But now, with their treasures at risk of being seized, the Kaimanwei Family would truly face ruin.
"This is all Ryan's fault," someone said indignantly.
"But now Ryan has been killed by Miss Qin; blaming him is pointless."
"What are we going to do? Clan Leader, we can’t let our family’s treasures fall into the hands of Huaxia People!"
"Is there really no other way to deal with those two Huaxia People?"
"After all, this is the United States; we are citizens here. Are we really afraid of Huaxia People on our own land? If they come to seize our treasures, it’s robbery."
The members of the Kaimanwei Family spoke up one after another.
"Better to lose wealth than face disaster; those Huaxia People are too terrifying for us to handle. They have no idea how much treasure we possess; we only need to give them a portion. Of course, that’s one approach; we must also devise more secure methods since those Huaxia People don’t seem easy to fool," Dawson said solemnly.
The Kaimanwei Family had been around for hundreds of years and had always operated in secrecy. They had collected countless treasures from around the world over the years—perhaps even they themselves were unaware of how much they had amassed.
With hidden treasures stored in various locations, how could they possibly hand everything over to Jiang Chen? But could they truly deceive Jiang Chen?
Dawson felt uncertain; Jiang Chen did not seem like someone who could be easily fooled. Thus, he believed they should prepare multiple strategies.
"How about asking for military protection?" someone suggested.
"Yes, please have the army protect us. We are citizens of the United States, and the army has the right to protect us. Clan Leader, don't you know General Breli? We can ask him for help."
Dawson remained silent for a moment, deep in thought, before saying, "That's also an idea. I'll meet with Brelly tonight."
...
In Angel City, at Jon Delson's estate.
Due to Jiang Chen's arrival, Jon Delson had invited the best Huaxia chefs to prepare a feast of Huaxia cuisine to welcome him.
It had been three years since Jiang Chen last visited the United States. Jon Delson had now taken control of the Delson Family, but he rarely made public appearances. After all, he was already a hundred years old, yet looked no more than sixty or seventy. Being too conspicuous might attract the attention of scientists, and Jon Delson did not want to be questioned about the secret of his longevity; he simply wished to quietly serve Jiang Chen.
"Master, I sincerely apologize. I've been searching for news about the Devouring Heaven Bottle over the years but have found no leads," Jon Delson said with a look of guilt.
"Just do your best," Jiang Chen replied, showing no signs of blame.
"Thank you for your understanding, Master. By the way, I suspect that the Devouring Heaven Bottle may be lost in some corner of the world; otherwise, there would be no reason for there to be absolutely no news," Jon Delson expressed his speculation.
"That is indeed a possibility. If that's the case, it will be quite troublesome," Jiang Chen admitted, sharing his concern.
The atmosphere grew heavy.
At the dining table were Jon Delson, Jiang Chen, Qin Xiaoya, and several younger members of the Jon family, including his granddaughter Alice.
Alice had met her grandfather's master years ago. Li Yunye, as the top expert of Hongmen, couldn't even withstand a single move from Jiang Chen. Moreover, Hongmen had to obediently pay a billion dollars in compensation every year.
Alice was filled with admiration for strong figures. After witnessing Jiang Chen's might, she had idolized him and had been begging her grandfather to arrange another meeting with him over the years. However, Jon was hesitant to disturb Jiang Chen on behalf of his granddaughter.
"Jon, there's something else I need you to do," Jiang Chen said, shifting the topic.
"Please give your orders, Master," Jon replied eagerly.
"Do you know about the Kaimanwei Family?" Jiang Chen asked.
"The Kaimanwei Family? I know a bit about them. They are quite mysterious—more so than our Delson Family. I've heard they rose to prominence through treasures, but I'm not too clear on the specifics," Jon explained.
"In a few days, you and Qin Xiaoya will lead a team to raid the Kaimanwei Family's estate," Jiang Chen instructed.
Jon was taken aback but quickly nodded in agreement.
"Master, what's going on?" Jon asked curiously.
"Qin Xiaoya will explain it to you," Jiang Chen said.
Qin Xiaoya then recounted the events that had transpired. After hearing her explanation, Jon was not overly surprised; it seemed that the Kaimanwei Family had made a grave mistake by offending their master. To him, those so-called Undead Knights were nothing but trash in Jiang Chen's eyes.
"The Kaimanwei Family, so they relied on trading with the evil power of the Undead Knights to gain their fortune. They truly deserve to die a thousand deaths," Jon exclaimed indignantly.
Jiang Chen remained silent. In truth, whether it was the Kaimanwei Family or the Delson Family, the rise of both families was stained with blood. Jon was simply luckier; he had become Jiang Chen's servant.
