The throat of the Undead Knight writhed, producing indistinct sounds as if it struggled to speak. However, after a moment of practice, a deep and eerie voice emerged from its dark mouth.
"You have such audacity to intrude upon my tomb and desecrate my armor." The already fearsome visage of the Undead Knight became even more terrifying with its tone of anger.
"I had some interest in you at first, but now that I see you, you make me nauseous. You should remain buried forever and not come out to disgust people," Qin Xiaoya said with a look of disdain.
The black liquid on the Undead Knight's body boiled with rage.
"Dawson, you have disappointed me greatly. This year, your sacrifice failed, and now you disturb my rest. It seems punishing you for a year was not enough," the Undead Knight said coldly, turning its gaze toward the trembling Dawson.
"My lord, this is not my fault! It is all because of this Hua Xia Woman. The sacrifice failed because of her, and now she brazenly intrudes here. Almost all of us from the Kaimanwei Family have perished at her hands, and I nearly died as well. Please, my lord, take justice for us!" Dawson hurriedly explained, his terrified demeanor almost pitiful.
The Undead Knight snorted coldly and replied, "That is also your incompetence. After this, I must consider replacing you. You Kaimanwei Family are no longer worthy to be my followers."
"My lord, please do not abandon us! The Kaimanwei Family has been loyal to you for generations. I beg you for another chance," Dawson pleaded desperately, bowing his head repeatedly.
"Loyalty is useless; I do not need incompetent people. Your failure in sacrifice this year has hindered my plans. You deserve to die a thousand deaths," the Undead Knight declared angrily.
Through ancient and evil sacrificial rituals, the Undead Knight sought to reshape its physical form and be reborn. However, this ritual required many conditions: a specific environment, a young woman sacrificed each year, a continuous supply of blood, and most importantly, time.
If a year's sacrifice failed, it would not completely ruin the plan but would delay success significantly.
"My lord, I deserve to die a thousand deaths, but I am willing to make amends. This Hua Xia Woman possesses Hua Xia Secret Arts; her power is the strongest I have ever seen. If she were used as a sacrifice, it could replace many ordinary women," Dawson quickly proposed.
Upon hearing this, the Undead Knight's terrifying gaze locked onto Qin Xiaoya once more, making her feel quite uncomfortable under its scrutiny.
"What are you staring at? I am not here to disturb your rest; rather, I am here to help you find peace. The dead should look like the dead; let me free you," Qin Xiaoya said without wanting to face the Undead Knight any longer. She formed seals again as her spiritual energy gathered into a fire dragon that flew toward the Undead Knight.
The Undead Knight was momentarily taken aback; it did not expect a woman to possess such strength. But that surprise was fleeting.
Dark powers often feared fire, and this Undead Knight was no exception; however, ordinary flames could not harm it.
The Undead Knight extended its hand and opened its grotesque mouth wide as a foul black mist surged forth. The black mist intertwined with the fire dragon, producing crackling sounds as if flesh had fallen onto a red-hot iron plate. The fire dragon consumed the black mist, leaving only remnants of dark ash in the air.
This black mist was an evil energy formed by the combination of corpse energy and resentment within the Undead Knight—extremely toxic and not afraid of fire—but at that moment, it was devoured by the fire dragon, leaving the Undead Knight genuinely astonished.
"What kind of Fire Technique is this?" it asked.
Qin Xiaoya could not be bothered to respond; instead, she chanted incantations while forming seals with her hands, burning her own spiritual energy to further strengthen the fire dragon as it roared toward the Undead Knight.
Seeing that Qin Xiaoya ignored it completely infuriated the Undead Knight.
"How dare you act so recklessly before me with just that Fire Technique!" it growled lowly as thick black mist emanated from its body. This mist ignited immediately upon release like swamp gas; however, instead of red flames, they burned black without heat but exuded an icy chill.
This strange black fire burned not only without warmth but felt chillingly cold instead.
However, Qin Xiaoya didn't have time to wonder. The Fire Dragon wrapped around the Undead Knight, and with her mind set on a swift resolution, she hesitated not at all. With a flick of her finger, the Fire Dragon spun rapidly, forming a fireball that glowed brilliantly. The intense heat seemed capable of melting the very earth beneath it.
Beads of sweat formed on Qin Xiaoya's forehead. This basic Fire Dragon Technique was not one of Earth’s spells; it originated from the Xiu Xian World. The Fire Dragon was a Spirit Fire, and thus the Chimera from Earth could not withstand it. Qin Xiaoya felt confident that this full-force strike would likely obliterate the Undead Knight.
As the Fire Dragon grew increasingly radiant and hotter, a satisfied smile involuntarily appeared on Qin Xiaoya's face. The bright orange-red flames illuminated the entire underground tomb, casting light upon everyone’s faces.
Jiang Chen remained unfazed, his expression as calm as a tranquil lake, revealing no emotions whatsoever.
Qin Xiaoya was filled with confidence.
On Dawson's face, however, fear and disbelief were etched deeply. He couldn't bear to imagine what would happen if the Undead Knight were burned to ashes; it would mean the complete downfall of the Kaimanwei Family.
