"Since Yun Laoyezi doesn't have time to come over, let's go and take a look," Wang Jingzhi said casually.
"Then, let's go see," Yun Tianxiao replied, unable to refuse. Deep down, he was actually looking forward to the meeting between the Feitian Sect and Jiang Chen. If Mr. Jiang turned out to be less formidable than the Feitian Sect, there would be no need to treat him with such respect in the future.
On their way to Jiang Chen's private room, Wang Jingzhi asked nonchalantly, "By the way, President Wang, do you know what kind of guest your father is hosting? Is he an official or a socialite?"
Although Wang Jingzhi felt somewhat dissatisfied with Yun Laoyezi's attitude, he was no fool; having lived for many years, he understood the importance of knowing both oneself and one’s enemy. Given the Yun Family's status, having Yun Laoyezi personally receive someone meant that the guest's identity was certainly significant. Although Wang Jingzhi was the leader of the Hidden Sect, there were still many people in society who could intimidate him, especially officials. If the guest held a high enough rank, Wang Jingzhi wouldn't foolishly offend them; instead, he would seek to establish a connection.
"Probably neither. He should be someone from the martial arts world," Yun Tianxiao replied.
"Someone from the martial arts world?" This surprised Wang Jingzhi.
He truly hadn't expected that the guest would be from the martial arts community. If that were the case, it would be even more unforgivable for the Yun Family to attempt to engage with two martial arts factions simultaneously; such indecisiveness would be looked down upon in the martial arts realm.
"Master Wang, please don't misunderstand. I really don't know much about him. His skills are indeed impressive, but as for his background, it seems he doesn't have any notable lineage. I suspect he might be from the Hidden Sect," Yun Tianxiao explained.
"At least you know his name," Wang Jingzhi pressed with a frown.
"I do know his name; it's Jiang Chen. We refer to him as Mr. Jiang," Yun Tianxiao said.
However, as soon as he finished speaking, he sensed something was off. Wang Jingzhi suddenly stopped in his tracks, his expression complex—both excited and fearful.
"Master Wang, w-what's wrong?" Yun Tianxiao asked in confusion.
"You mean to say that your father is currently with Mr. Jiang?" Wang Jingzhi's body trembled involuntarily.
In Huaxia, there was probably only one Martial Artist bold enough to call himself Mr. Jiang. Wang Jingzhi had encountered Jiang Chen at both Qinling and Sword Immortal Ruins; he recognized Jiang Chen, but Jiang Chen did not know him.
Having witnessed Jiang Chen's prowess twice, Wang Jingzhi held him in almost reverent regard. Unfortunately, he dared not approach him; although Mr. Jiang appeared harmless and always wore a calm demeanor, there was an intense sense of distance that made people hesitant to get close.
During their time at Mingjing Valley, all members of hidden sects had wanted to privately approach Mr. Jiang but failed miserably; even Wang Jingzhi had attempted to meet Jiang Chen there but was turned away at the door by Lin Yin.
"Yes, Master Wang. You know Mr. Jiang too?" Yun Tianxiao asked in surprise.
"Does Mr. Jiang have anyone else with him? Or perhaps a disciple?" Wang Jingzhi inquired.
"There is a disciple—my half-niece named Lin Yin," Yun Tianxiao answered honestly.
"Then it's definitely him! President Wang, why didn't you mention earlier that you are Miss Lin's uncle?" Wang Jingzhi suddenly became respectful.
Yun Tianxiao was taken aback; Master Wang actually referred to him as "you," showing such deference—was it simply because he was Lin Yin's uncle?
"Master Wang, what are you doing? I'm completely confused here! What's going on?" Yun Tianxiao exclaimed in distress as Master Wang's excessive politeness left him feeling flustered.
"You are Miss Lin's uncle; surely you must know her well?" Wang Jingzhi looked at him with an odd expression.
"Lin Yin usually gets along well with Yue Chan; they share everything with each other. However, when I asked Yue Chan, she wouldn’t tell me anything," Yun Tianxiao said helplessly.
"No wonder I find Yue Chan to be different; it turns out she is close to Miss Lin. That means she must know Mr. Jiang as well. President Yun, if Yue Chan is willing to take me as her mentor, I would certainly spare no effort in guiding her. Of course, since she knows Miss Lin, her standards must be quite high, and she probably wouldn’t think much of an old man like me," Wang Jingzhi said, his tone unexpectedly tinged with sadness and regret.
Yun Tianxiao now understood that Wang Jingzhi held great respect for Mr. Jiang. However, this was a bit too much respect; after all, Wang Jingzhi was the leader of a Hidden Sect. He wouldn’t be so flustered even in front of a leader, but just hearing Jiang Chen's name made him lose his composure, which was truly baffling.
Yun Tianxiao couldn’t help but shake his head and smile bitterly. He had been thinking about having the Feitian Sect clash with Jiang Chen, but clearly, they were not on the same level. Just a cough from Mr. Jiang would make the Feitian Sect tremble.
