The next morning, the sun rose over the vast Tianshan pastures outside Mingjing Valley Village, where Cheng Xiang and his companions had risen early from their tents. Today was the day for the younger members of the Hidden Sect to engage in sparring.
Five circular arenas had already been set up, and by early morning, a crowd had gathered around them. Cheng Xiang and his friends were among the throng of spectators. The previous night, they had felt a bit anxious, but today they walked with confidence, unrestrained, because they had found a powerful ally.
They were now associated with a Hidden Sect and had fortuitously encountered the Xuanyin Sect. Even more fortunate was that Liang Shanshan, the youngest daughter of Liang Houyue, the sect leader of Xuanyin, happened to know several wealthy second-generation heirs who were close to Cheng Xiang.
These six affluent young men accompanying Cheng Xiang were indeed well-connected in the mundane world; they hailed from prominent families in Gan Province. The Xuanyin Sect was based in a small city within Gan Province. Although it was a Hidden Sect, its presence in the secular world meant it naturally interacted with local aristocrats. The Xuanyin Sect also owned various enterprises in the secular realm, with Liang Shanshan serving as the chairwoman overseeing these ventures.
Since most of Xuanyin's businesses were located in Gan Province, it was only natural for Liang Shanshan to be acquainted with these wealthy heirs. Leading the group was Cheng Xiang's boyfriend, Chen Jihau. His father ranked among the top five richest individuals in Gan Province. As the third son in his family, Chen Jihau grew up in Great Britain and reportedly held a nationality other than Huaxia. He had served three years in a special forces unit in Great Britain before being called back to Huaxia by his father to learn about the family business. However, Chen Jihau showed little interest in business and instead spent his days idling around, making no progress in his entrepreneurial skills but gaining many friends who sought thrills.
It was Chen Jihau who suggested this road trip to Jiang Province and even proposed trekking through the desert wilderness.
Apart from Chen Jihau, the others were no ordinary individuals either. There was Jiang Jinsong, a round-faced young man over 1.7 meters tall whose family business boasted assets exceeding ten billion. His greatest passion was indulgence; he joined this trip primarily to lose weight. Then there was Wu Qianyi, an elegant young man wearing glasses who came from an influential family. Lastly, Zhao Yifei stood tall and athletic in sportswear; he was a champion in Taekwondo and Sanda from Gan Province and hailed from a martial arts lineage—though not a true Martial Arts Family—his skills still held some merit.
The two young women accompanying them were both in their twenties: Hu Lin with short hair and Li Youmei sporting a bun hairstyle. Both were daughters of prominent figures in Gan Province.
Last night, when they saw Liang Shanshan, they were quite surprised since she was well-known among the upper echelons of Gan Province society. After all, an accomplished and single beauty is always notable at any gathering, which is why Chen Jihau recognized her.
Liang Shanshan also knew some of Chen Jihau's companions and was taken aback to see them here. Initially intending to send them away, she realized they were quite persistent about staying. Moreover, she understood that these wealthy young men could be troublesome if provoked; if she forced them to leave now that they had stumbled upon her secret, word would likely spread throughout Gan Province's elite circles about her identity.
After careful consideration, Liang Shanshan decided to let Chen Jihau and his friends stay and even follow behind them as part of Xuanyin Sect’s entourage. Since there was no way to change the fact that they had discovered her secret, it would be better to make good use of them.
Utilizing them effectively meant leveraging their powerful families as well—a significant advantage for Xuanyin Sect. Although it was a Hidden Sect, living within the secular world for an extended period meant it merely bore the title of Hidden Sect; amidst rampant materialism, even deities could be corrupted—let alone a mere Hidden Sect.
As time went on, the Hidden Sect became less and less valuable. With the support of the Xuan Yin Sect, Chen Jihau and his companions felt particularly excited today. They had learned some details about the upcoming martial arts tournament from Liang Shanshan the night before, including that there would be various elixirs and magical weapons for trade, and they were eager to find some good items to take back.
Of course, Liang Shanshan couldn't share everything with Chen Jihau and the others; she only mentioned some of the things they could expect to see at the tournament.
"Brother Hao, I didn't notice last night, but today I realize there are so many beautiful women in the Hidden Sect! They are truly stunning, like celestial beings," exclaimed the chubby Jiang Jinsong, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he scanned the surroundings.
"This trip is definitely worth it! The beauties from the Hidden Sect are so gorgeous; compared to them, the women we've seen before seem so ordinary," Wu Qianyi added, equally thrilled.
"If we could flirt with a beauty here, that would be amazing!" Zhao Yifei chimed in.
When men gather, the topic of conversation naturally drifts toward beautiful women. Most of the people from the Hidden Sect wore sect robes resembling Hanfu, making it feel like a gathering of ancient figures. To Chen Jihau and his friends, the young female disciples of the Hidden Sect appeared like fairies. Even though they had encountered many women before, they found it hard to maintain their composure in front of these stunning disciples.
"Cough, cough. Calm down, everyone," Chen Jihau said, trying to appear composed despite feeling just as excited inside. He discreetly glanced around at the beautiful women.
Cheng Xiang, standing nearby, was well aware of Chen Jihau's thoughts but pretended to be indifferent. She even engaged in conversation about the female disciples of the Hidden Sect with him and his friends.
Cheng Xiang was indeed a clever person; she knew that to win Chen Jihau's heart, she first needed to be agreeable and not let jealousy cloud her judgment.
Sure enough, when Cheng Xiang joined in on the gossip, Chen Jihau's expression noticeably brightened and became more relaxed.
As for Hu Lin and Li Youmei, they didn't need to worry about Cheng Xiang's concerns or thoughts. They had no interest in beautiful women but were quite intrigued by the young handsome men from the Hidden Sect. Some wore flowing blue garments while others donned pure white robes; they stood tall and elegant like the handsome protagonists from historical dramas.
