"Forget it, you know I have no interest in these things," Jiang Chen waved his hand.
"Haha, true enough, Mr. Jiang. If you ever need me for anything, just let me know. Also, from what you just said, I believe it's necessary to open the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm Gate. Our Earth needs to restore its former glory. If technology and cultivation civilization can be combined, I believe our Earth will become even stronger," Zeng Xianyi said.
Jiang Chen smiled noncommittally. The combination of technology and cultivation was not unheard of among the myriad races in the universe. Earth's technology was considered average among them, while its cultivation level was far from impressive. The integration of both would indeed enhance overall strength; however, for the time being, Earthlings would still primarily rely on technology. Achieving success in cultivation was even more challenging than advancing technology.
"The Mountain and Sea Secret Realm Gate will likely open in a few years. Zeng Lao, you can draft a detailed plan later to ensure the public isn't too panicked when the time comes," Jiang Chen suggested.
"Alright, Mr. Jiang, I will consider it," Zeng Xianyi nodded.
"However, Mr. Jiang, I think there will be many opposing voices regarding the opening of the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm Gate," Zeng Xianyi hesitated before speaking up.
"Zeng Lao, do you think opposing voices are useful to me?" Jiang Chen smiled slightly.
Zeng Xianyi felt a bit awkward and fell silent. Who could change what Mr. Jiang had decided? In any case, Zeng Xianyi would not oppose him.
"Alright, it's getting late. You two should head back and rest. Tomorrow we will meet Jin Jiangming," Jiang Chen said.
Zeng Xianyi stood up, but Qin Xiaoya remained seated, seemingly with something on her mind.
"Then Mr. Jiang, I'll take my leave first," Zeng Xianyi said tactfully as he departed.
After Zeng Xianyi left, Jiang Chen turned to Qin Xiaoya and smiled gently, "Qin Xiaoya, is there something on your mind?"
"Young Master, I didn't want to trouble you with this matter, but after much thought, I believe that besides you, no one else can help," Qin Xiaoya's expression suddenly turned serious.
Jiang Chen remained silent, encouraging her to continue.
"This isn't about me; it's about a childhood friend of mine. You’ve met her before—she was at the entertainment industry party we attended a few years ago when your friend Wang Shun Yuan got married. Her name is Yang Yuxin," Qin Xiaoya explained.
"Do you remember what happened to her?" Jiang Chen recalled faintly; he had an impression of Qin Xiaoya's childhood friend but it wasn't particularly favorable.
Qin Xiaoya felt helpless knowing that her childhood friend hadn't left a good impression on Jiang Chen last time they met. However, she couldn't just stand by and do nothing. After some hesitation and struggle, she finally pleaded with Jiang Chen.
"Yang Yuxin returned home during the New Year; we saw each other then and she seemed fine. But just last week I found out she was hospitalized. She said it was just a cold and fever so I didn't pay much attention to it. It wasn't until the day before yesterday that she sent me a message saying she was close to death that I realized how serious it was. The night before last, I took some time to visit her at home and was shocked by her condition. I never expected that in just half a month since we last met, she would look like that. I can't even describe it; I can hardly believe my eyes," Qin Xiaoya said with deep fear in her voice. Clearly, Yang Yuxin's current state must be quite alarming; she probably had a terminal illness.
