"Is it really necessary to meet the Clan Leader?" Tie Shan asked with a mournful expression. Given his status, he found it difficult to even meet the Clan Leader, so how could he possibly have the right to bring Jiang Chen to see him?
"We must meet," Jiang Chen insisted.
"Over there is the Sea God Hall, the sacred ground of our Sea God Clan. Only elders are allowed to enter. There are formations and restrictions surrounding it; if we approach carelessly, we could trigger the defenses and invite disaster. Mr. Jiang, I've told you everything you need to know. "Azure Feather Chicken? Uh..." Tie Shan was momentarily at a loss for words. The level of Jiang Chen was beyond anything Tie Shan and his companions could imagine.
Reluctantly, Tie Shan and Tie Luan followed Jiang Chen to the entrance of the Sea God Hall. This place was the absolute core area of the Sea God Clan, sacred and inviolable; for many years, no one had dared to enter recklessly.
As they approached, they could see a hazy formation that isolated this area. Occasionally, people would come to pay their respects, but only in designated areas of the square.
Jiang Chen did not pause his steps; he walked directly up to the formation and gently pulled at it as if lifting a curtain. The hazy formation parted slightly.
"Come in," Jiang Chen said.
Tie Shan and Tie Luan stood dumbfounded. Though they internally resisted, their feet moved involuntarily toward the inside.
Seeing Jiang Chen disregard the formation left onlookers astonished, but no one intervened. They assumed Jiang Chen was an "official" person or someone favored by the Sea God. The locals were quite superstitious and firmly believed in tales of the Sea God's descendants.
Thus, Jiang Chen boldly passed through the defenses and entered through the unguarded main door. Everything inside was originally tranquil and harmonious, untouched by worldly affairs; however, with Jiang Chen's arrival, this peace began to shatter, and Tie Shan and Tie Luan became witnesses to it all.
From the outside, the Sea God Hall appeared grand and magnificent; from within, it was even more spacious and majestic. The heavy hall had intricately carved wooden doors that were tightly shut, with no guards at the entrance.
For this place, guards were indeed unnecessary; only at the city gates were there people stationed to prevent entry into the forest where wild beasts roamed. Even without formations or restrictions, no one dared to enter casually; moreover, with such defenses in place, anyone who intruded recklessly would trigger alarms and alert those inside.
However, these restrictions were not effective against everyone.
Standing before the grand door of the Sea God Hall with his hands clasped behind his back, Jiang Chen was followed closely by Tie Shan and Tie Luan. Their calves felt weak as if they were in a fight; their faces drained of color—this was even more exhilarating than running away.
Having lived and cultivated here for over twenty years without ever having a chance to enter this hall, they never expected to do so in such a manner today.
As they waited for the door to be pushed open, they imagined the gazes of the Clan Leader and various elders could kill. At that moment, Tie Shan and Tie Luan were not excited but rather terrified; their hearts felt as though they had risen into their throats, ready to leap out at any moment.
