It was evident that the people here were not completely isolated from the world. Jiang Chen did not trust that the clothes they wore were produced by themselves.
“Roar!”
This forest was dangerous, with various fierce beasts often lurking about. As the pair of siblings arrived beneath the large tree where Jiang Chen was hiding, they were immediately targeted by a fierce tiger. The tiger poked its head out from the bushes, letting out a deep, resonant roar that startled the siblings.
“Brother, it’s an Ivory Tiger! What should we do?” The young woman’s face turned pale with fear.
“Don’t worry, I’ve hunted Ivory Tigers before,” the young man replied, displaying a certain bravado. After a brief moment of shock, he calmed down, bending slightly and drawing a short knife from his waist, his gaze fixed sharply on the tiger.
Jiang Chen remained concealed in the tree, his presence hidden by the foliage and his suppressed aura, so even this keen beast did not detect him. From his vantage point above, he observed everything with a godlike perspective.
The Ivory Tiger measured over four meters in length. While it was not an exceptionally powerful beast, its strength, speed, defense, and intelligence were greatly enhanced due to the spiritual energy present in this secluded paradise. Compared to beasts outside, even a Master of Transformation from Earth would find it hard-pressed against this Ivory Tiger.
As for the pair of siblings, their strength was roughly equivalent to that of an outside Master of Transformation. Although they were evenly matched, this was still the territory of fierce beasts; who knew if there were others lurking nearby?
Seeing that its opponents had assumed an aggressive stance, the Ivory Tiger—having dealt with humans here for years—understood their capabilities. With a swift movement, it leapt out from the bushes, fur bristling and eyes wide with fury.
“Stay back, Sister; I’ll handle this Ivory Tiger,” the young man declared, his eyes blazing with killing intent as the blade in his hand glinted coldly.
The tiger crouched slightly, its muscles tensed before it launched itself like a cannonball towards its target, its half-meter-long fangs aimed directly at their vital points.
The young man was no pushover either; however, he preferred not to expend unnecessary energy. Instead of confronting the tiger head-on, he dodged to the side while keeping an eye on his surroundings. Despite this Ivory Tiger having intelligence comparable to that of a ten-year-old child, it still lacked the cunning of a truly clever human.
The young man evaded to stand before a large tree and taunted the tiger. Its eyes turned red with rage as its momentum surged; it charged forward like a runaway train.
This time, instead of dodging left or right, he continued to provoke while retreating until he pressed against the tree trunk. He watched with a serious expression as the rampaging tiger closed in on him. Just as it was about to reach him—only a meter away—the young man leaped upward at the last moment, narrowly avoiding the tiger's attack.
Due to their proximity and the tiger's incredible speed, its long fangs sank deeply into the tree trunk with a violent impact that made even the two-meter-wide tree tremble.
With its fangs lodged in the trunk and unable to free itself momentarily, the tiger shook its body vigorously, causing the tree to sway left and right. The branches at the top swayed even more dramatically. Jiang Chen found it somewhat amusing; feeling the branches quaking beneath him made him focus slightly more to maintain his balance.
