"Eh!?" Upon seeing the light ahead, Jiang Chen couldn't help but feel a bit surprised. He could sense that this narrow passage did not lead to the surface of the sea, but rather slanted deeper into the ocean. The fact that there was light at the bottom of the sea was indeed a curious phenomenon.
Jiang Chen quickened his pace, darting toward the source of the light like an arrow.
As he drew closer to the light, his spiritual awareness was stirred. Expanding his consciousness, he detected a wave of energy from an array. Although it wasn't an unparalleled formation, it was certainly a top-tier one. Modern humans on Earth would be incapable of constructing such an array at the bottom of the sea; it could only mean one thing: this array originated from an era tens of thousands of years ago.
Not to mention Shan Ba Mei's era, it at least belonged to Ling Mingzi's time. However, Jiang Chen could also sense that this array was in its later stages, appearing weak and lacking vitality.
Upon reaching the source of the light, Jiang Chen peered through the rippling water surface and glimpsed the scene ahead. If he hadn't felt that he had been swimming deeper into the ocean for quite some time, he might have thought he had emerged above water.
Before him lay a vast forest, lush with vegetation, filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers, and even inhabited by giant beasts.
Jiang Chen reached out and lightly tapped the water surface; his fingers broke through, exposed to the air.
"This truly is a hidden paradise," Jiang Chen marveled as he passed through the glass-like water surface and entered this idyllic realm.
Suspended in mid-air, Jiang Chen surveyed this paradise that seemed endless. The narrow passage he had come through appeared above him like a well opening; however, this well was not on the ground but at the top.
With the power of the array in place, seawater wouldn't flood in. Yet now it seemed that this power was somewhat unstable. Once it reached its critical point and could no longer withstand the pressure of the seawater, this paradise would likely be submerged.
Originally, there was nothing on Earth that could astonish Jiang Chen, but today, witnessing this hidden paradise beneath the sea left him truly shocked—more so than when he encountered the sealed Undying Dragon Clan.
It felt like Earth's last pure land, preserving its primitive style. Moreover, the Spiritual Energy here was a hundred times denser than outside.
"Roar!"
Just as Jiang Chen stood on a branch of a towering tree over a hundred meters high admiring his surroundings, a tremendous roar echoed through the forest. He looked down to see a tiger with tusks sprinting through the trees, its body reaching four to five meters in length. Then he spotted a giant python over ten meters long swiftly gliding past.
"This place is indeed lively," Jiang Chen smiled, his interest growing stronger. The only downside here might be that true sunlight couldn't reach this place; instead, its illumination came from Spirit Fire Stones embedded in the ceiling. These stones could be lit or extinguished according to the array's settings. The light from Spirit Fire Stones was closest to sunlight. Outside, Jiang Chen hadn't seen a single Spirit Fire Stone, but here they were everywhere.
The lifespan of Spirit Fire Stones was at least one hundred thousand years; as long as Spiritual Energy remained abundant, they could be used indefinitely.
Jiang Chen contemplated that since he was here, he might as well take some Spirit Fire Stones back with him to decorate his Quiet Villa and Snowfall Courtyard. In his eyes, these Spirit Fire Stones were far more valuable than gold.
