Jiang Chen felt another arm being pulled, and when he turned to look, he saw Xu Xin hugging his other arm, playfully winking at both him and Jiang Lu.
"Brother Jiang, since you consider me your half-sister, it’s only natural for me to hold your arm just like Jiang Lu does," Xu Xin said, implying that her actions were perfectly justified.
"Xin Xin, I really don’t know what to do with you," Jiang Lu replied helplessly.
Even with stunning beauties like Lin Bingbing and Qin Xiaoya, this older brother seemed to maintain a distance, but Xu Xin was too bold for him to handle.
The group took the subway to Capital Ward. Qin Xiaoya had also replied, saying she was busy with a meeting in the afternoon and would join them later in the evening.
Capital Ward was a blend of vintage and modern styles, featuring classical architecture alongside contemporary buildings. It exuded a strong commercial vibe while also possessing a tranquil and elegant artistic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for young people to explore.
The four girls laughed continuously as they enjoyed their time together; they were genuinely happy.
"I'll help you take pictures," Jiang Chen offered with a smile.
"Brother Jiang, let’s take a group photo! I’ll ask a passerby to help us," Xu Xin suggested, handing her phone to someone nearby. They all gathered for a picture.
During the photo session, Xu Xin leaned closely against Jiang Chen, almost resting her head on his shoulder.
After wandering around Capital Ward for over an hour, evening began to fall.
"Now, let’s head to Houhai! Singing and drinking is the real way to relax," Xu Xin said, clearly eager about it.
"Then let’s go," Jiang Chen nodded in agreement.
The group set off towards Houhai. As part of Shichahai, Houhai was expansive and particularly famous for its bars.
It was Jiang Chen's first visit to Houhai as well, but the environment and atmosphere were indeed appealing. Many music enthusiasts were singing passionately along the streets despite the chilly wind.
"Let’s find a place to eat; Sister Qin said she’d be here soon," Jiang Lu suggested.
"I know a place where we can eat, drink, and enjoy the view of the lake," Xu Xin chimed in eagerly. Being somewhat of a local in Beijing, she was quite familiar with its streets and alleys.
They arrived at a music restaurant by the lake in Houhai. One side featured large floor-to-ceiling windows that showcased the beautiful scenery outside.
This music restaurant was quite upscale; upon entering, they noticed many photos of celebrities who had dined there hanging on the walls.
Xu Xin insisted on sitting next to Jiang Chen, her affectionate demeanor likely to infuriate any boyfriend who saw them.
"Sister Qin isn’t here yet; how about this—Brother Jiang, I’ll perform some talents for you," Xu Xin said with a smile.
"What are you up to this time?" Jiang Lu asked instinctively.
"This is a music restaurant, can't you see? There's a stage over there where you can play and sing. Let me sing a song," Xu Xin replied.
"Sing here?" Jiang Lu was taken aback.
"Of course! What song do you want to hear?" Xu Xin said with a playful smile. Singing in front of a crowd does require some courage, but Xu Xin was more than capable, and no one was particularly surprised. After all, Xu Xin had won the championship in the campus top ten singers competition.
"How about that song you sang last time, 'The Girl Said to Me'?" Jiang Lu suggested.
"Sure!" Xu Xin nodded confidently and walked boldly toward the stage.
On stage, a resident singer was performing. Xu Xin exchanged a few words with them before taking the microphone, and as the band began to play the introduction, Xu Xin started singing. To be honest, it was quite impressive.
