As for Liu Ying, she went straight back to Shen Li's home.
Upon arriving, Shen Li immediately pulled Liu Ying aside. "Liu Ying, can you tell me about Jiang Chen now?"
"I've wanted to tell you for a long time, but I had to get the consent of the person involved first. Today I asked Brother Jun, and he agreed. So, I'll share some things about Brother Jun with you, but don't be surprised because what I'm about to say really sounds like a tall tale." Liu Ying went to the fridge, grabbed a bottle of yogurt, and sat down before starting to recount the story of Jiang Chen.
Liu Ying first learned about Jiang Chen during Wang Shun Yuan's wedding. At that time, she and Jiang Chen had just officially met; previously, they were only introduced by Wang Shun Yuan. However, it seemed that Wang Shun Yuan wasn't very familiar with Jiang Chen's background before the wedding.
Liu Ying briefly shared what she knew with Shen Li but didn't go into too much detail.
After listening, Shen Li was left speechless; it was even more unbelievable than a fairy tale. Jiang Chen was incredibly wealthy, casually handing out hundreds of millions to help friends start businesses and even inviting international superstar Carole to perform at a friend's wedding.
No wonder Wang Shun Yuan and the others weren't surprised to see Lin Bingbing with Jiang Chen today; they were simply stunned by Lin Bingbing's beauty.
"Is this really true?" Shen Li asked, her face filled with disbelief.
"Absolutely true; it couldn't be more real," Liu Ying nodded seriously.
"Wang Shun Yuan and Jiang Chen grew up together but didn't know how impressive he was?" Shen Li still couldn't shake her shock.
"They probably didn't know. When we were first introduced, we had no idea either," Liu Ying explained.
Shen Li pondered for a moment before saying softly, "It's truly incredible. You say Jiang Chen has no background or support, yet he's so remarkable. I can't wrap my head around it; I doubt anyone would dare to make up such a story."
"Lili, regarding Brother Jun's matters, if he wants us to know more in the future, he will tell us naturally. For now, we shouldn't pry any further," Liu Ying said earnestly.
"Alright, I won't ask any more questions," Shen Li replied understandingly. She didn't doubt Liu Ying's words; although the situation was indeed hard to believe, it was normal for some things in this vast world to defy logic. Moreover, it seemed that Jiang Chen's affairs were not something she could casually inquire about.
What Liu Ying, Wang Shun Yuan, and Gao Kang knew was probably just about this much. As friends of Jiang Chen, they hadn't dug deeper into his background either. Shen Li felt that as an outsider, there was even less reason for her to investigate further.
"Lili, after I told you this, do you think less of me?" Liu Ying asked with some concern; after all, she was still a rather insecure person at heart.
"How could I? To be honest, at first I liked you because you were President Liu—young and accomplished—but as we spent time together, I realized you're genuinely ambitious and kind to me. Now I like you for who you are," Shen Li smiled.
Liu Ying laughed; unknowingly, her confidence grew a little stronger.
The next day, Jiang Chen left Liu Fei City for the capital.
Lin Bingbing continued her training at Tianyin Pavilion. Jiang Chen had already told Lin Bingbing that if she wanted to learn some close-combat techniques, she could go to Quiet Villa in Shanghai for training.
Over the years, although Jiang Chen had killed some people and accomplished many astonishing feats, he had never crossed certain lines and thus wasn't being hunted by any countries. At most, there were some organizations and families who harbored deep hatred towards him; however, they were no match for Jiang Chen and could only endure in silence.
