A group of onlookers began to murmur among themselves, believing that Jiang Chen had acted under the influence of Yue Hui to strike Zhu Xiangyue. They were convinced that Yue Hui could not escape responsibility for this incident.
Yue Hui, however, paid no attention to the harsh whispers around her. In Jiang Chen's eyes, her Yue Group was insignificant. Zhu Xiangyue had no idea whom he had offended; if Jiang Chen wanted to bring the Zhu Family to ruin, it would be an effortless task.
The exhibition hall soon returned to a state of calm. Naturally, Jiang Chen was bound to receive a reprimand from his god-grandmother for hitting Zhu Xiangyue, but he merely smiled and offered no explanation.
Zhou Pingyong and others watched coldly from the sidelines. "This kid is really arrogant," Zhou Pingyong sneered. "But the more arrogant he is now, the better. The more people he offends, the better."
"He even dared to hit Zhu Xiangyue, the only heir of the Zhu Family. If anything happens to her, the Zhu Family will definitely go after Jiang Chen," Zhou Pingming said solemnly.
"If he could channel his abilities into something constructive, he might achieve something significant. But unfortunately, he's too young and reckless. Judging by his tone just now, if there weren't so many people around, he might have killed Zhu Xiangyue," Zhou Pingnan added.
"I actually hope he does kill her; then I wouldn't even need to say anything. Colonel Shi and his team would surely bring Jiang Chen to justice," Zhou Pingyong said with a hint of regret.
They were waiting for Colonel Shi's superior to arrive. Meanwhile, Zhu Xiangyue was waiting for her lawyer. She had never experienced such humiliation in her life and was determined to seek justice.
As for Jiang Chen, he continued to wander around the exhibition hall. The Jiang Bao family and Zhou Rongli were already well aware of their godson's capabilities. Jiang Lu had witnessed Jiang Chen's prowess abroad and had certainly mentioned it to his parents. If Jiang Chen wasn't afraid overseas, there was no reason for him to fear the mere Hangcheng elite; besides, Zhu Xiangyue truly deserved a lesson.
About twenty minutes later, Zhu Xiangyue's lawyer arrived. It was Jiang Chen's first time seeing someone call a lawyer; usually, people sought martial artists for revenge instead. When Zhu Xiangyue stood before Jiang Chen with her lawyer and insisted on sending him a legal notice, Jiang Chen couldn't help but shake his head at the absurdity of it all.
"Mr. Zhu, we can accept your legal notice, but you should really leave now unless you want another beating," Yue Hui said with exasperation.
Both Dong Mingshui and Zhu Xiangyue were actually quite lucky; Jiang Chen was holding back because of his god-grandmother's presence. Otherwise, Zhu Xiangyue's fate would have been dire.
"Miss Yue, please speak respectfully to our chairman; otherwise, I can charge you with defamation," Zhu Xiangyue's lawyer said coldly.
"You'd better take your chairman away quickly if you don't want him to get hit again. Just because you're a lawyer doesn't mean you can meddle in everything; some matters are beyond your jurisdiction," Yue Hui replied sharply, finding Zhu Xiangyue increasingly annoying.
"As a lawyer, I must ensure our chairman's rights and safety are protected by law. You’ve already laid hands on him once; if you do so again, it will be a clear case of assault—assault can lead to imprisonment. Miss Yue, don’t make things worse," the lawyer warned earnestly.
"Smack!" The moment the lawyer finished speaking, a crisp slap echoed through the hall as Zhu Xiangyue was sent flying across the room.
Zhu Xiangyue was now thoroughly humiliated.
"How annoying," Jiang Chen remarked to his god-grandmother. "Some people are like flies buzzing around; they need to be taught a lesson."
