Lin Yu stared intently at Jiang Chen, her gaze piercing as if she wanted to swallow him whole. It was as if she was seeing him for the first time, filled with unfamiliarity and wariness. "You lied to me! You've been deceiving me all along!" she said through gritted teeth, each word squeezed out with deep anger and disappointment.
Jiang Chen's eyes flickered, like a candle flame swaying in the wind, bright one moment and dim the next. He seemed to want to explain, but it felt as if something had choked him, leaving him speechless. "Lin Yu, you... you have to let me explain..." he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Explain? What is there to explain?" Lin Yu scoffed, a mocking curve forming at the corner of her mouth, her eyes filled with disappointment and disdain. "You used me, deceived me, treated me like a pawn to be manipulated at will. What more can you say?" Her voice grew colder, like a sharp knife piercing Jiang Chen's heart.
"I... I didn't!" Jiang Chen desperately tried to defend himself. He opened his mouth but found his words utterly powerless, for Lin Yu no longer believed him. Her gaze was resolute, as if she had already sentenced him to death.
"Inverse Light, let's go!" Lin Yu turned abruptly and left the place that had shattered her heart without hesitation. Her back was so determined, so resolute, as if declaring that she would never look back again.
Jiang Chen stood there dumbfounded, watching Lin Yu's retreating figure, filled with regret and helplessness, as if his soul had been drained away, leaving only an empty shell behind. He wanted to chase after her and clarify everything, but his legs felt heavy as if they were filled with lead, unable to move. He knew that nothing he said now would matter; Lin Yu no longer trusted him. Their relationship had developed an irreparable rift.
Lin Yu ran all the way home and locked herself in her room, allowing tears to flow freely like beads from a broken string, each drop hitting the floor with a crisp sound. She felt utterly exhausted, as if all her strength had been drained away, collapsing onto her bed like a puddle of mud. She couldn't understand why Jiang Chen had treated her this way. They had come so far together as partners who understood each other so well; how could he have changed so drastically? Was it truly impossible to know someone's heart?
Inverse Light watched Lin Yu in pain and felt a deep ache for her, comforting her like a gentle older sister. "Host, don't be sad; you still have me. I will always be here for you, supporting you and helping you through this tough time." Its voice was soft yet firm, like a warm spring flowing gently into Lin Yu's heart.
Lin Yu looked up at Inverse Light with gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you, Inverse Light; I'm so glad I have you by my side." Her voice trembled with emotion but was filled with sincerity.
"Host, now is not the time to be sad; we have more important matters to attend to. Although the mastermind has been caught, the situation is not completely resolved. We must uncover their true intentions and whether there is a larger conspiracy behind them." Inverse Light gently reminded Lin Yu that they could not let their guard down; there were still daunting tasks ahead.
Lin Yu wiped away her tears and took a deep breath to calm herself down. "You're right, Inverse Light; we can't let sadness defeat us. We must pull ourselves together and find the truth—both for the company and for my own justice." She nodded firmly, her gaze regaining its determination like a blazing fire filled with fighting spirit.
"Host, I've already found some clues. The mastermind seems connected to a Mysterious Organization that wields significant power. Their goals appear to extend beyond just targeting your company; they aim to control the entire industry." Inverse Light conveyed the information it had gathered to Lin Yu in a serious tone that evoked tension.
Upon hearing this, Lin Yu's heart sank as she furrowed her brows tightly. "Control the entire industry? Their ambitions are too great! We must stop them; we cannot let them succeed!" Her voice rang out strong and resolute, filled with determination and courage.
“Host, I have devised a plan. We can take advantage of this opportunity, use their own tactics against them, and lure the snake out of its hole to completely destroy this Mysterious Organization,” Inverse Light said confidently, its voice brimming with wisdom and strategy.
Lin Yu looked at Inverse Light, her eyes filled with hope. “Great! We’ll follow your plan! I believe we can defeat them!” She swung her fist vigorously, as if she could already see the dawn of victory.

Jiang Chen’s face paled. He opened his mouth as if to say something but ultimately swallowed his words. “I know you’re still upset with me, but I really have something important to tell you,” he said quietly, a hint of pleading in his voice.
“What is it?” Lin Yu remained frosty. “Go ahead; I’m listening.”
“It’s about the mastermind behind the scenes and that Mysterious Organization,” Jiang Chen took a deep breath and said. “I know some secrets about them that could help you.”
Lin Yu furrowed her brow slightly as she regarded Jiang Chen, a flicker of doubt crossing her eyes. “Why are you telling me this?”
"Because..." Jiang Chen hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Because I don't want to see you get hurt. I hope you can stay safe."
Lin Yu fell silent, unsure whether to believe Jiang Chen's words. She had once trusted him completely, but now, she found it hard to trust him again.
"I know you might not believe me, but everything I say is true." Jiang Chen looked at Lin Yu, his eyes filled with sincerity. "That Mysterious Organization, their goals go beyond just your company; they want to control the entire industry, and their methods are extremely ruthless. You must be careful."
A wave of turmoil surged within Lin Yu as she gazed at Jiang Chen and asked, "How do you know all this? Who exactly are you?"
Jiang Chen's gaze flickered for a moment as he lowered his head. "I... I used to be one of them."
"What?" Lin Yu exclaimed, her eyes widening in disbelief. "You... you were one of them?"
"Yes," Jiang Chen nodded. "But I'm not anymore. I've betrayed them. I want to help you stop them."
Lin Yu's heart was in chaos; she didn't know whom to trust or what to do. She looked at Jiang Chen and asked, "Why did you betray them?"
"Because..." Jiang Chen lifted his head and met Lin Yu's gaze, his eyes filled with complex emotions. "Because I realized I couldn't continue down that path. I couldn't hurt you anymore; I couldn't do those terrible things."
Lin Yu stared at Jiang Chen, her heart filled with conflict and struggle. She wasn't sure whether to believe him, but she also knew that his presence might change everything.
"Just go. I don't want to see you again," Lin Yu suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence.
Jiang Chen froze, looking at Lin Yu with pain and helplessness in his eyes. "Lin Yu, do you really want me to leave?"
"Yes." Lin Yu's voice was cold and firm. "I don't want anything to do with you anymore. Just go."
A glimmer of despair flashed in Jiang Chen's eyes as he took a deep look at Lin Yu before turning away and silently leaving.
Lin Yu watched Jiang Chen's retreating figure, her heart twisting in pain. She didn't know whether what she had done was right or wrong, but she knew she had to do it.
"Host, why did you send him away?" The voice of Inverse Light echoed in Lin Yu's mind. "He might really be able to help us."
"I don't know," Lin Yu shook her head and replied. "I just feel that I can't trust him anymore. I'm afraid of being hurt again."
"Host, don't be afraid," Inverse Light comforted her. "I will always be with you. I will protect you."
"Mm." Lin Yu nodded, gazing out the window with confusion and unease in her eyes.
