Zhou Pingyong became increasingly excited, his thoughts scattering. The idea of killing someone and paying with one's life seemed like common sense to him; after all, how could Jiang Chen, who had killed so many people, possibly escape unscathed?
As soon as he spoke, the old lady's expression changed dramatically.

Jiang Chen had indeed killed some people, a fact he preferred to keep from his family. However, Zhou Pingyong had some means to uncover such information. Since it was now out in the open, Jiang Chen saw no reason to deny it.
He nodded calmly.
"Is that really true?" The old lady gasped in shock, disbelief etched across her aged face.
"Xiao Chen, you should listen to god-grandmother. You need to learn to hide your brilliance. Although god-grandmother may not be well-educated, she knows a saying: 'The tall tree in the forest will be toppled by the wind.' Sometimes, being too outstanding can bring trouble even if you try to remain hidden. How could you take lives so easily? Killing one person is like creating a heavy sin," the old lady sighed heavily.
"Mom, don't worry about Xiao Chen's matters. I trust Jiang Chen; if he kills, it's because those people deserved it," Zhou Rongli interjected.
The Zhou family still didn't truly understand Jiang Chen. Zhou Rongli didn't know how to explain; those who were meant to believe would do so naturally, while those who didn't want to believe would ignore even the facts laid before them.
"Grandma, don't worry; I know what I'm doing. To put it bluntly, if it weren't for certain people having a bit of a connection with me, they would already be dead," Jiang Chen said lightly, his gaze unflinchingly directed at Zhou Pingyong.
Zhou Pingyong was startled by Jiang Chen's stare and hurriedly stepped back.
"What do you want? Are you planning to kill again? Zhou Rongli, you need to keep your murderous son in check! Having such a grandson is truly a misfortune for our family," Zhou Pingyong said as he retreated.
"Just shut up. My son doesn't need my supervision," Zhou Rongli replied coldly.
Jiang Chen chuckled at Zhou Pingyong's panicked demeanor and remarked, "Since you've investigated me, you should know what kind of people I've killed. Your worth is nothing compared to them; if I dared to kill them, why wouldn't I be able to kill you?"
Zhou Pingyong's words were truly infuriating for Jiang Chen. How dare they expect him and his family to bow down first? He was speaking the truth; if it weren't for not wanting his godmother to feel guilty or for god-grandmother's sadness, he would have genuinely considered killing Zhou Pingyong.
Given that he had secretly investigated Jiang Chen's background and still failed to recognize the situation was ridiculous.
"Mom, look at what this kid is saying! You should have less contact with someone like him. If our family doesn't distance itself from him, we will eventually be dragged down with him. Our Huaxia government cannot tolerate such a murderer," Zhou Pingyong said nervously as he sensed Jiang Chen's murderous intent and quickly brought the old lady into the conversation.
