"Thank you, Dad." Jiang Jiewen smiled brightly, relieved that the issue that had been troubling her was finally resolved.
The next day, on the twenty-fifth day of the twelfth lunar month, there were only five days left until New Year's Eve.
Li Fuxiu arrived early in the morning to find Jiang Shi, expressing his desire to visit Jiang Chen and hoping that Jiang Shi's daughter could facilitate the meeting.
Although Jiang Jiewen was somewhat reluctant, she felt it would be impolite to refuse.
"Uncle Li, I’m not sure if Jiang Chen is willing to see you. If he doesn’t want to meet, please don’t take it personally," Jiang Jiewen said in advance.
"I can see that your relationship with Mr. Jiang is quite special; I believe your presence will help," Li Fuxiu replied with a smile.
With no other option, Jiang Jiewen took out her phone and called Jiang Chen.
"Alright, since he reached out to you, I’ll naturally give you face. Nine o'clock at Qishan Park," Jiang Chen said.
Hearing that Jiang Chen agreed made Jiang Jiewen genuinely happy, but she thought to herself that this should not become a regular occurrence; she didn’t want to be the go-between every time someone wanted to meet Jiang Chen.
At nine o'clock, they met at Qishan Park. Jiang Chen arrived punctually and found Jiang Shi, Jiang Jiewen, and Li Fuxiu waiting for him in a pavilion.
Li Fuxiu’s intentions were clear to Jiang Chen.
"Mr. Jiang, hello! I couldn’t see you clearly last night in the dark, but now that I see you in person, you truly are impressive—a dragon among men," Li Fuxiu exclaimed as he approached with enthusiasm and flattery.
"Jiang Chen." The sight of him instantly lifted Jiang Jiewen's spirits; she greeted him sweetly and happily.
Jiang Shi glanced at Jiang Chen but remained silent, feeling too awkward to greet him. It was difficult for him to face Jiang Chen directly, but since his superior Li Fuxiu insisted on his company, he had no choice but to muster the courage to show up.
"Director Li, what brings you here?" Jiang Chen asked directly.
"Well, Mr. Jiang, you are quite remarkable at such a young age. Our police department would like to collaborate with you. Of course, this won’t take up much of your time; you would just be lending your name. If any special events arise, we hope you can make an appearance—it’s all for the sake of Huaxia," Li Fuxiu explained cautiously.
"If that's what Director Li is after, I'm afraid I can't agree because I've already registered officially elsewhere. I'm not sure if you know Zeng Xianyi—Old Zeng," Jiang Chen replied.
"Old Zeng? Of course! Does that mean Mr. Jiang has already registered with the military?" Li Fuxiu suddenly realized; Zeng Xianyi was a prominent figure from the military and someone he definitely recognized.
Not only did Li Fuxiu know him, but so did Jiang Shi.
"Old Zeng had me register as a Major General," Jiang Chen stated without hesitation.
"Oh, well then, Mr. Jiang, let’s pretend I didn’t say anything," Li Fuxiu quickly laughed awkwardly. He had assumed that Jiang Chen lacked an official background; bringing such an impressive figure into their ranks would have been a significant achievement for him. It turned out Old Zeng had already taken the lead in this regard. Since Jiang Chen was already collaborating with Old Zeng, there was little more for him to say.
Jiang Shi stole another glance at Jiang Chen and regarded him with newfound respect.
Jiang Chen turned out to be a hidden Major General. Initially, there were concerns that Jiang Chen might be too powerful, leading to uncontrollable situations. However, since he was a Major General, it was clear he wouldn't pose a threat to Huaxia.
"Director Li, is there anything else?" Jiang Chen spoke again.
