The long-haired woman was indeed striking, exuding an air of confidence reminiscent of a successful businesswoman. If Liu Ying showed no interest in such a beauty, it would truly be surprising.
Upon hearing Liu Ying's words, the two women simultaneously turned their gazes toward Jiang Chen.
"Since you're a friend of President Liu, you must be quite an impressive person as well. I'm Shen Li, the Operations Manager at Yamei Network Technology, which shares the same building as President Liu's company. This is my colleague, Shang Yan; she is the Public Relations Manager," Shen Li said with a slight smile. Although her expression was calm, there was a hint of curiosity in her eyes regarding Jiang Chen's identity.
In fact, both Shen Li and Shang Yan were not young anymore; they had graduated from university several years ago and were about the same age as Liu Ying. Judging by their attire, it was clear they were brand-conscious individuals who could easily assess the value of someone's clothing at a glance.
Jiang Chen's outfit was anything but understated; the logos of domestic second-tier brands were prominently displayed. Shen Li found it strange that Liu Ying, a founder of a company worth over a hundred million, would dine with someone dressed so "casually." Was President Liu truly that loyal to her friends?
"Your company's managers are indeed young and beautiful," Jiang Chen remarked with a faint smile, not appearing overly aloof.
"Our company mainly focuses on self-media and live streaming. Most of our staff are quite young, but no one compares to President Liu. She's about my age and has already founded a major company like Blue Ocean Education. Once it goes public in a few years, President Liu will be on the rich list; at that point, we’ll be looking up to her from afar," Shen Li said jokingly.
"Manager Shen, don't tease me. In terms of scale, your company is much larger. Besides, self-media is currently at the forefront of trends; we're planning to collaborate with your company for some promotional activities," Liu Ying replied with a smile.
"That would be great! By the way, are we interrupting you and President Liu by sitting here?" Shen Li asked with a cheerful expression.
Liu Ying initially considered declining since she wanted to chat with Jiang Chen today, but Jiang Chen smiled and said, "Liu Ying, since they are your friends, let them join us."
With Jiang Chen's agreement, Liu Ying naturally had no objections.
To be honest, even by Liu Ying's current standards, both Shen Li and Shang Yan were exceptional women. They were graduates from prestigious universities and quite attractive; such women were ones he had previously dared not look directly at. Now he found himself sitting together with them and engaging in lively conversation.
Once seated, Liu Ying handed the menu to the two women across from him so they could order. They did so without hesitation, and after placing their orders, everyone began chatting together.
Jiang Chen mostly remained silent while Shang Yan also spoke little; it was primarily Shen Li and Liu Ying who conversed. After some time, Shen Li casually asked, "President Liu, where does your classmate work?"
"Uh..." Liu Ying hesitated momentarily; he genuinely didn't know what Jiang Chen was doing. After all, Jiang Chen was quite impressive and probably didn't need to work.
"I'm a freelancer," Jiang Chen explained briefly.
"Right, freelancer," Liu Ying echoed.
"A freelancer?" Shen Li and Shang Yan exchanged glances of surprise but chose not to pry further. Just by looking at Jiang Chen's attire, they could tell he wasn't doing particularly well; asking too many questions might hurt feelings.
"By the way, President Liu, did you receive an invitation to tonight's gala organized by the Liu Fei City Chamber of Commerce?" Shen Li inquired.
