Last night, everyone truly spared no effort in treating Lum Ming. They found a nice restaurant and had a hearty meal, during which Lum Ming sighed and ate, muttering that they shouldn't waste a single bite.
When it was time to settle the bill, the waiter informed them that Brother Xiao had already taken care of it. Lum Ming looked at Xiao Ye with teary eyes.
Not wanting to let him off easily, Lu Yuen suggested they go for a foot massage at the reflexology shop downstairs from their studio, which would be quite affordable for Lum Ming.
"Tomorrow, I’ll handle the collaboration talks myself. You all should rest well and prepare; there's no need for you to come along," Xiao Ye said, noticing that everyone looked as if they just needed one more good meal to be fully recharged. He glanced at Tongtong and asked, "Tongtong, are you going tomorrow?"
He remembered that the young girl liked He Shuning.
"Brother Xiao, I think I’ll pass. You guys will be very serious and formal about work, and in that kind of setting, I’d just feel like a quail. Besides, my goddess probably won't be there tomorrow; I’m sure I’ll run into her during recordings later on."
Just the thought of seeing her goddess often made the young girl feel like she was bubbling with happiness.
Tongtong had seen Brother Xiao negotiate collaborations once before. Since they weren’t signed under a company, most of the work coordination was handled by Brother Xiao and Xu Yan Brother. In those professional settings, Brother Xiao appeared much more serious; he would dress formally, which was one of the rare occasions he wore a suit—he looked exceptionally handsome.
Xiao Ye nodded when he heard her response.
"We'll prepare dinner and wait for you at the studio."
"Okay."
Lo Ye met with the production team of a large-scale television drama. The producers were straightforward and had no strict requirements, allowing the music producer to make decisions independently. The only stipulation was that the female lead had to be involved, meaning the song would be performed as a duet.
This trend of lead actors singing the theme songs for dramas had become quite popular, and Lo Ye did not refuse. Upon hearing this arrangement, he immediately thought that Tongtong would be the happiest about it.
He initially believed that this meeting was merely to finalize the collaboration process. However, when there was a knock on the office door, he felt as if he already knew who would be standing outside.
Strangely, a ripple of emotion stirred within him, an absurd feeling that he couldn't quite place.
Sure enough, when the door opened, he found himself relieved by how accurate his intuition had been.
He couldn't help but chuckle at himself.
What he didn't know was that He Shuning, standing next to the manager, was lost in her own thoughts.
She had never intended to mix actors and singers for the OST of this drama; deep down, she felt it would lower the singer's performance level.
However, Sini believed it was a great opportunity. She thought that stars with talent and memorable qualities should diversify their careers.
When she shared her theory, He Shuning felt too weary to argue. No matter how much she said, Sini would always counter with examples of her own success, making any discussion futile.
What ultimately gave He Shuning a sense of unexpected pleasure was that they had invited Wilderness to perform. Not to mention her hidden curiosity and anticipation, just hearing the news made Mimi jump for joy, exclaiming that Sister Sini's decisions could sometimes be brilliantly outrageous.
So today, as they traveled together, she and Sini exchanged a few words beyond work, such as asking if they had eaten breakfast.
As she pushed the door open and saw the man in black sitting on the sofa, she felt a sense of delight, as well as a hint of surprise.
Indeed, she was certain it was surprise.
Once again, she encountered the figure who had lingered in her mind,
and to her astonishment, the two people she had imagined merged into one.
