"It's fine, I'll help you get rid of it," Jiang Chen said with a smile.
"Thank you, Jiang Chen," Lin Bingbing replied with a sweet smile. She had no doubts about Jiang Chen's abilities; although modern medicine struggled to completely remove scars, he could do it.
At the Lin family villa, Lin Bingbing's family paced anxiously in the hall.
Suddenly, the sound of a car outside caught their attention. Lin Bingbing's family members were overjoyed and rushed out to see that it was indeed Lin Bingbing returning. They initially breathed a sigh of relief, but their expressions darkened when they saw Jiang Chen getting out of the car as well.
"Bingbing, where have you been? The dinner is about to start! Hurry up and change your clothes. And remember to wear a long dress, nothing that exposes your shoulders," her mother instructed.
"As for you, Xiao Jiang, thank you for bringing my daughter home. We have plans tonight and can't entertain you, so please go back," Mother Lin said flatly as she approached Jiang Chen, effectively issuing an eviction notice before he even stepped inside.
"Mom, what are you doing? Jiang Chen is coming with me to the Shyr family tonight. If he doesn't go, I won't go either!" Lin Bingbing exclaimed loudly.
Mother Lin's brows furrowed tightly in displeasure, but seeing her daughter's stubbornness, she knew this wasn't the time to argue.
"Fine, take him with you. Just remember not to worry about his safety. You should know how the Shi family would react if they saw you with another man," Mother Lin sneered.
"You don't need to worry about that. Come on, Jiang Chen," Lin Bingbing said as she took his hand and led him toward her room.
"This is driving me crazy," Mother Lin muttered, stamping her foot in frustration but feeling helpless. Her daughter had grown wings and was no longer obedient.
"Mom, don't worry. As long as Bingbing attends the engagement dinner later, it's fine. As for that guy, I think he's asking for trouble by daring to show up at the Shyr family’s event. He won't even know how he ends up in trouble," Lin Bingbing’s brother scoffed.
"I'm just worried that Bingbing might leave a bad impression on the Shi family. We can't afford to offend the Shyr family at all," Mother Lin expressed her concerns.
"By the way, Mom, I just thought of a great idea," Lin Bingbing’s brother suddenly exclaimed.
"What great idea?" The Lin family turned their attention to him.
"Not everyone can get into the dinner tonight. We can let that guy tag along, and when we reach the hotel entrance, we’ll just say we don’t know him and have security keep him outside. If the Shi family asks, we’ll say he’s just one of Bingbing’s fans—some fans can be quite crazy these days," he said with a grin, pleased with his clever plan.
"That's a good idea."
"Not bad at all; let's do it."
Indeed, it was a good idea that received unanimous approval from the Lin family.
In her room, Lin Bingbing changed into a rather revealing lace nightgown and shyly approached Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen glanced at the burn scars on Lin Bingbing's thighs and back; they were indeed quite noticeable.
"Close your eyes," Jiang Chen said.
Lin Bingbing obediently closed her eyes. The warmth from the heating in the room made her feel flushed. Although it wasn't her first time alone with Jiang Chen, this time her emotions were different. Thoughts raced through her mind as she anticipated what Jiang Chen might do next. She even considered simply embracing him.
Suddenly, a strange sensation rippled across the scars on her thigh and back, a feeling that was both exquisite and comforting.
