Lucius wiped the sweat from his forehead, pacing anxiously in front of Luna. His meticulously crafted plan, which had seemed flawless and foolproof, had fallen apart at the last moment. That damned merchant of Magic Artifacts had run out of stock just when he needed it most!
He needed to use Memory Mist to confuse the memories of those Servants who might leak secrets, but now everything was ruined! "Damn it! It was so close!" he muttered under his breath, punching the stone wall of the tower with a dull thud. Pain shot through his knuckles, but he couldn't afford to care at that moment. He could almost feel his father's plan collapsing, the ugly truth hidden beneath a facade of glory about to be exposed to the light.
He couldn't let that happen! Absolutely not!
Luna stood quietly to the side, watching Lucius's restless demeanor. Her deep blue eyes sparkled with insight. Though she appeared calm on the surface, her mind was as clear as glass, seeing through Lucius's troubled thoughts. She knew he was trying to cover up their father's misdeeds but hadn't anticipated such a setback.
"Brother, don't be anxious," Luna comforted in a baby voice, gently tugging at Lucius's hem. "There must be another way."
Lucius abruptly stopped and looked down at Luna, his expression complex. "Luna, you don't understand..." He sighed and waved his hand dismissively. "Some things aren't as simple as you think." He turned away, his back radiating a profound sense of helplessness.
He needed to calm down and rethink; he had to come up with a new strategy, or else... he couldn't bear to imagine the consequences.
The spiral staircase of the tower echoed with his heavy footsteps, each step feeling like a weight on his heart. Luna watched him disappear down the corridor, a barely perceptible smile creeping onto her lips. The plan had failed—great! This was just what she needed!
She had been struggling to find an opportunity, and now it felt like a divine gift! Her mind raced as she plotted how to seize this chance and completely alter the destiny of the Magic Castle.
Meanwhile, in the opulent bedroom of the Magic Castle, Aelia sat by the window, her gaze vacant as she stared at the blooming Black Roses outside. The vibrant flowers had lost their color in her eyes, leaving only endless gray.
Leonard's betrayal felt like a sharp knife piercing her heart, leaving her in unbearable pain. She trembled as she touched the magical necklace Leonard had once given her; silent tears fell onto the sparkling gem, as if expressing her boundless sorrow.
Once sweet memories had turned into excruciating pain. She couldn't comprehend how the man who had once loved her so deeply could commit such cruel acts.
Her world felt like it was collapsing; everything she had once believed in had become a lie.
"Aelia..." Leonard's voice came from behind her, tinged with caution and guilt.
Aelia spun around abruptly, her gaze icy as if looking at a stranger. "Don't touch me!" she snapped, her voice filled with disgust and hatred.
Leonard's outstretched hand froze mid-air, embarrassment and pain flickering across his face. "I know you're angry, but please let me explain..."
"Explain?" Aelia scoffed, cutting him off. "What is there to explain? The facts are laid bare before us; what more do you have to say?" She pointed at the scattered letters on the table—correspondence between Leonard and his Concubine—each word felt like a dagger piercing her eyes and heart.
"I..." Leonard opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words. He wanted to defend himself, to make amends, but realized that any words would feel pale and powerless.
Aelia turned away from him, gazing out the window as tears blurred her vision once more. She had once believed that their love was unbreakable, capable of withstanding any storm. Yet reality had dealt her a harsh blow, making her realize that what she called love was merely an illusion, shattering at the slightest touch.
"Leave!" Aelia's voice was cold and resolute. "I don't want to see you again."
Leonard dejectedly dropped his hands and silently turned to leave the room, leaving Aelia alone to drown in her endless sorrow.
Luna's small figure appeared at the bedroom door, quietly listening to the commotion inside, her little face devoid of any expression. She understood that Aelia was in immense pain at that moment, but she didn't know how to comfort her. After hesitating for a moment, she ultimately decided not to enter and instead turned away.
She walked to the end of the corridor and gazed out at the setting sun, murmuring to herself, "It's time..." Her eyes grew resolute and profound, as if she had made an important decision.
She turned and walked in another direction, towards Qin Si's room. She gently knocked on the door. "Sister Qin Si, are you there? I need to discuss something with you..."
Luna stood before Qin Si's door, her small hands clenched tightly. She certainly didn't intend to "discuss" anything with Qin Si; rather, she needed someone reliable who could help her convey a message.
Qin Si was Aelia's trusted confidante, her loyalty unquestionable, and she possessed a keen mind—an excellent partner for what Luna had in mind. However, the challenge lay in how to convince Qin Si that she, a seemingly harmless infant harboring an old soul within, knew about the future of Magic Castle.
It seemed more absurd than a fairy tale!
Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down. Since she had decided to break the deadlock, she had to take the risk!
"Sister Qin Si, are you there?" Luna knocked on the door again, her youthful voice carrying a hint of determination beyond her years.
The door opened quickly, revealing a weary Qin Si standing at the entrance. Upon seeing Luna, she managed a strained smile.
"Young Miss, it's so late; why aren't you asleep?"
Luna looked up at her with clear blue eyes and said earnestly, "Sister Qin Si, I have something very important to tell you about... Madam and Lord."
Qin Si's expression changed instantly. Lowering her voice and glancing around to ensure no one was eavesdropping, she pulled Luna into the room and asked quietly, "Young Miss, do you know everything?"
Luna nodded without speaking and pulled out a neatly folded note from her pocket, handing it to Qin Si. The note contained crucial information extracted from the Original Plot regarding Leonard and Leonard's Concubine's conspiracy and the impending crisis facing Magic Castle.
Of course, she did not reveal her secret of having crossed into this story; instead, she vaguely mentioned having had a strange dream about these events.
Qin Si took the note and quickly skimmed through it. Her complexion paled as her hands began to tremble. She couldn't believe that the Lord she had always respected was capable of such treachery!
She had always thought that Madam and Lord were a match made in heaven; their love was the most beautiful fairy tale within Magic Castle. But now that fairy tale had been ruthlessly torn apart, leaving only bloody truths behind.
"Young Miss, is... is this all true?" Qin Si's voice quivered; she would rather believe it was a nightmare than accept this cruel reality.
Luna looked at her seriously and nodded again.
"Sister Qin Si, I know this is hard to believe, but I assure you it is true. If we do not intervene, Magic Castle will face a tremendous disaster, and Madam will suffer even greater harm."
Qin Si fell silent as she clutched the note tightly in her hand, struggling internally. She didn't know whether to trust Luna—a seemingly innocent infant—but she couldn't ignore the details on the note; those secrets known only to Lord and Leonard's Concubine compelled her to consider that this might indeed be true.
Luna did not rush her; she simply stood quietly by waiting for Qin Si's decision. She understood this was a difficult choice that required time for digestion and reflection. She believed that Qin Si would make the right choice because her loyalty to Aelia was beyond question.
Time passed slowly, and the room was eerily silent, with only Qin Si's heavy breathing echoing in the stillness. Finally, Qin Si lifted her head, her gaze steady as she looked at Luna.
"Young Miss, I believe in you! No matter what happens, I will protect the lady and will never let anyone harm her!"
Upon hearing this, Luna's face broke into a grateful smile.
"Sister Qin Si, thank you! With your help, we can surely change the Destiny of Magic Castle!"
She gently grasped Qin Si's hand and spoke in a tender voice, "Sister Qin Si, next, we need to do this..."
Meanwhile, in the luxurious bedroom of Magic Castle, Aelia sat alone on the bed, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably. She clutched tightly to the Teddy Bear that Leonard had once given her, as if it were her last hope.
She couldn't understand why things had turned out this way. Why did he betray her? Was their love truly so fragile?
The more she thought about it, the sadder she became; her cries grew louder until her throat was hoarse and her eyes swollen like walnuts.
How she wished this were just a nightmare and that everything would return to normal upon waking.
However, in the adjacent room, Leonard lay in bed, tossing and turning restlessly. He knew Aelia must be heartbroken, but he didn't know how to face her.
He wanted to comfort her, to apologize, but he was afraid of seeing the disappointment in her eyes and hearing her resolute words.
He sighed and turned over, trying to force himself to sleep. He told himself that everything would be alright; given enough time, Aelia would surely forgive him.
He believed their love could overcome any obstacle.
Closing his eyes, he forced himself not to dwell on troubling thoughts and gradually drifted into slumber.
As night deepened, the entire Magic Castle fell into a deep sleep. Only Aelia's room remained lit by a faint light that illuminated her lonely figure.
In the darkness, a pair of eyes silently observed everything. He murmured softly, his tone laced with an imperceptible coldness: "It's time to put an end to this..."
