Luna's little hands were sticky, with crumbs of pastry clinging to her chubby fingers, making her look both comical and adorable.
Yet in her clear, large eyes, there sparkled a wisdom that belied her age.
She licked her fingers, a seemingly casual gesture that stirred an indescribable coldness within Lucius.
Aelia's laughter rang out, bright and melodious, echoing in the study like Feng Ling.
"You little rascal!" she affectionately tapped Luna's nose, completely unaware that a storm was quietly brewing.
The arrival of her elder brother suddenly cast a heavy atmosphere over the room.
The news he brought burst forth in Aelia's heart like a bolt of lightning.
Luna knew that the web she had carefully woven was finally tightening.
"Let's go to the Purification Room," Luna said in her baby voice, breaking the suffocating silence in the study.
Her small hand clutched Aelia's sleeve tightly, as if lending her strength.
Aelia paused for a moment before nodding.
She needed time to digest this sudden news and a quiet place to contemplate her next move.
The Purification Room was her most frequented sanctuary, a place where she could find peace.
Luna arranged for Qin Si to take some of the attendants back to rest while she led Aelia and Lucius to the Purification Room.
In her little mind, she quickly calculated the next steps of their plan.
On the way to the Purification Room, Qin Si couldn't help but speak up, "Madam, don't you think the atmosphere in the Magic Castle feels a bit... different today?"
Aelia responded absently, her thoughts still lingering on the news brought by her elder brother.
However, Luna keenly caught the implication in Qin Si's words.
Indeed, it was different.
Leonard's betrayal was like a malignant tumor, eroding this ancient Magic Castle.
As they drew closer to the Purification Room, Lucius became increasingly restless.
His face was pale, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
The rich and pure Magic Element within the Purification Room was a torment for anyone tainted by evil.
"Mother, I... I feel a bit unwell..." Lucius's voice trembled as he tried to leave, only to find his legs felt as heavy as lead.
Seeing this, Luna immediately instructed Qin Si, "Sister Qian Si, please go back to fetch Brother San's commonly used magical items. He might be struggling with the magical aura of the Purification Room."
Qin Si felt frustrated; she always thought Luna was a bit odd. But since Madam listened to her without question, she had no choice but to comply.
She shot Lucius a fierce glare before turning to leave.
In her heart, she silently cursed: Serves you right!
Letting you act like that!
After Qin Si left, Luna took Aelia's hand and smiled brightly, saying, "Mother, let's go in first. Brother San will feel better soon."
Aelia nodded, holding Luna's small hand as they walked into the Purification Room.
Lucius, on the other hand, was like a puppet, being dragged inside by two Knights.
Inside the Purification Room, the Magic Element rippled like water waves, emitting a soft glow.
Aelia took a deep breath, feeling her body and mind being purified.
But Lucius felt as if he had fallen into an Ice Cellar, shivering uncontrollably.
Luna pretended to be concerned and asked, "Brother San, are you alright?"
Lucius forced a smile, "I... I'm fine..." His voice grew weaker, and the smile on his face became increasingly stiff.
Luna secretly sneered; the show was just beginning!
The Magic Physician carefully examined Lucius's condition but found nothing unusual.
"Third Young Master Lucius is just a bit unaccustomed to the magical aura of the Purification Room. He'll feel better after some rest."
Luna feigned worry, furrowing her brows. "But Brother San looks really uncomfortable..." Her gaze fell on the rippling Magic Water in the Purification Pool. "How about... we let Brother San soak in the Purification Pool? It might help."
The Purification Pool was the core of the Purification Room, its waters containing extremely pure Magical Power capable of cleansing all impurities.
However, for those tainted by evil energy, the Purification Pool was also the deadliest trap.
Aelia hesitated for a moment but ultimately agreed to Luna's suggestion.
She believed that Luna would not harm Lucius.
Lucius was brought to the edge of the Purification Pool by Knight. He gazed at the rippling Magic Water within, wanting to refuse but finding himself unable to speak.
“Brother San, don’t be afraid. It will be over soon,” Luna’s voice whispered like a devil's murmur in his ear.
Knight pushed Lucius into the Purification Pool.
In an instant, the water began to boil, and a dark Magic Aura erupted from Lucius, glaringly out of place in the pure Magic Water.
“Ah—” Lucius let out a piercing scream…
Luna watched as Lucius struggled in the Purification Pool, a cold smile curling at her lips. “I told you, the real show is just beginning…” She turned to Aelia, her eyes filled with meaning. “Mother, look…”
After Qin Si left the study, an indescribable unease surged within her.
She walked heavily back to Third Young Master Lucius's room.
The furnishings in the room were still familiar, but for some reason, she felt an ominous presence lingering in the air.
She quickly pulled out Lucius’s commonly used magical items from the drawer, but couldn’t help recalling Luna’s calm demeanor from earlier.
Was that little girl really only a few years old?
She muttered to herself, feeling that something was off.
Turning around, she saw Lucius standing at the end of the corridor, his eyes shimmering with complex emotions.
In that moment, her heart involuntarily raced, as if an invisible force connected her to Lucius.
She stopped in her tracks and locked eyes with him.
At that moment, she suddenly understood something, but quickly cast the thought aside.
“Don’t you think the atmosphere at the Magic Castle feels a bit off today?” she asked softly, her voice tinged with an unmistakable hint of fear.
Lucius’s gaze sharpened instantly. He smiled slightly, but a glimmer of cunning flashed in his eyes.
“Qin Si, are you being overly cautious?” he replied in a low voice, though there was no warmth in his tone.
A chill ran through Qin Si’s heart. Instinctively, she felt a wave of coldness wash over her, and she turned to leave quickly, inwardly cursing, “This guy is definitely not simple!”
Lucius watched Qin Si depart, a slight smile playing on his lips. He knew that if he didn’t take action soon, he might meet his end tonight.
But he quickly wiped the smile from his face, for he understood that Luna was not someone to be underestimated.
As soon as Qin Si left, Luna approached him, her gaze cold and resolute.
“Lucius, I advise you not to use any tricks on Qin Si.” Though Luna’s voice was youthful, it carried an undeniable authority.
Lucius felt a shiver run down his spine and swallowed hard, forcing a smile. “I… I understand.”
Seeing Lucius relent, Luna nodded slightly, but her eyes remained icy and unyielding.
She took Aelia’s hand and slowly walked toward the Purification Room.
Aelia’s face bore a solemn expression; her trust in Luna was evident.
The two walked side by side, and the air around them was filled with a sense of solemnity, as if they were about to enter a sacred place.
The moment they stepped into the Purification Room, the Magic Element enveloped them like warm sunlight, bringing an extraordinary sense of comfort to everyone present.
Aelia took a deep breath and softly asked, "Luna, do you have any questions?" Her eyes sparkled with concern and anticipation.
Luna nodded, her tone respectful. "Mother, I would like to inquire about some key aspects of magical purification. I wonder if you could offer me some private guidance?" A hint of sincerity graced her small face, but Aelia could sense the determination within her.
After a moment's hesitation, Aelia finally nodded. "Alright, let's find a quiet place to talk."
In the center of the Purification Room stood a massive Purification Pool, its waters shimmering with a gentle glow.
Aelia and Qin Si dipped their hands into the water, relishing the comfort brought by the pure Magic Element.
Qin Si closed his eyes, a satisfied expression on his face, as if all his worries had been carried away by the wind.
However, when it was Lucius's turn, the situation was entirely different.
As soon as Lucius's fingers touched the water, he felt a sharp pain, as if thousands of needles were piercing his fingertip.
He gasped sharply, trying to endure the pain, but sweat had already soaked through his clothes.
Looking up at the calm expressions of those around him, despair welled up within him.
Luna clearly noticed Lucius's discomfort. She gently took Aelia's hand and spoke with concern in her voice. "Mother, Brother San seems very unwell. Should we call for a doctor?" Her eyes sparkled with a profound light, as if everything was under her control.
Aelia nodded and turned to Knight. "Quickly fetch the Magic Physician; Third Young Master Lucius needs to be examined." The Knights hurried away, and a tense atmosphere filled the air.
Luna's lips curled into a slight smile as she turned to look at Lucius. The air around them was thick with decay and death, starkly contrasting with the originally pure Magic Element in the Purification Room.
Lucius writhed in agony in the pool, letting out beast-like howls. His face contorted in pain, his eyes bloodshot; the refined image of the Noble Young Master was utterly shattered, replaced by that of a terrifying demon.
His skin began to rot, dark Magic Aura forming twisted patterns on his body’s surface as if countless venomous creatures were burrowing within him.
Aelia was stunned by the sudden turn of events before her. She covered her mouth, unable to believe her eyes as she watched Lucius struggling in the pool of water.
She could not fathom that the Third Son, whom she had cherished for many years, could turn out to be such an ugly monster!
Luna's small face was tense, her clear, large eyes shimmering with shock and anger.
She fixed her gaze on the swirling black Magic Aura surrounding Lucius, a storm of emotions rising within her: a Mage!
Lucius was actually a Mage's Eye Shadow planted in the Glorious Demon Fortress!
This revelation sent a chill down her spine.
In the water, Lucius continued to writhe in pain, his screams gradually weakening as if he were on the verge of death.
But Luna knew this was merely an illusion; the Mage's minions would never die so easily.
Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm the shock and anger within her. Slowly turning to Aelia beside her, she spoke in a slightly trembling yet resolute tone, "Mother, look, within this Magic Castle..."
