After leaving Silver Claw Castle, Lia and Kalan embarked on a difficult journey to find the five Moonlight Gems. Based on vague clues obtained from a crystal ball, they learned that the first Moonlight Gem might be located deep within the Ice Abyss of Extreme Cold Land. This was a region perpetually covered in ice and snow, with harsh conditions and numerous dangers, including freezing winds that could instantly freeze anything and various ferocious ice beasts lurking about.
As they stepped into Extreme Cold Land, the biting cold wind cut against their faces like blades, and each breath felt like inhaling shards of ice. Lia wrapped her cloak tightly around herself but still couldn't stop shivering. Kalan looked at her with concern and removed his scarf, gently wrapping it around her neck. "Be careful; the cold here is beyond imagination. We must find the gem quickly and leave this place," he said, his voice trembling slightly in the wind, yet his tone remained resolute.
During their arduous trek, they encountered a pack of Ice Wolves. These Ice Wolves were massive, covered in translucent ice armor, and their sharp fangs glimmered with a chilling light under the sun. The wolves let out a low roar at the two intruders before lunging at them with bared teeth.
Kalan immediately transformed, his silver fur shining brightly against the snowy backdrop. He moved swiftly among the Ice Wolves, each swipe of his claws inflicting heavy damage. Meanwhile, Lia looked for an opportunity; she retrieved a special potion from her Experimental Pack and threw it at an Ice Wolf's weak spot. The potion exploded upon impact, releasing a powerful corrosive effect that caused cracks to appear in the wolf's icy armor.
After an intense battle, they finally managed to drive off the Ice Wolves. However, both Kalan and Lia had sustained injuries. Kalan's arm was scratched by an Ice Wolf's fang, with a thin layer of ice forming over the wound; Lia's leg bore deep claw marks from another wolf, blood seeping into the snow around her.
"We need to find a place to rest and tend to our wounds; otherwise, it will be very dangerous," Lia said wearily.
Kalan nodded and scanned their surroundings until he spotted a cave not far away. Supporting each other, they made their way to the cave with great difficulty. Once inside, Kalan used his magic to set up defensive spells at the entrance to prevent any more beasts from entering. Lia took out bandages and healing potions to treat their wounds.
While tending to Kalan's arm, Lia noticed an eerie blue glow emanating from around his wound, intertwining with the red light of Dark Moon Power as if they were in conflict. "Kalan, your wound... it seems like this Dark Moon Power has undergone some new changes," she said anxiously.
Kalan frowned as he felt the fluctuations of power within him. "It might be that the extreme cold environment is stimulating Dark Moon Power; however, I can still control it for now. We need to find the Moonlight Gem quickly and complete the Purification Ritual to resolve this issue once and for all."
After resting for a moment, they continued onward. Following their clues, they arrived at the edge of Ice Abyss. The abyss was bottomless, shrouded in thick icy mist with terrifying roars echoing from within. Cautiously navigating along its edge, Lia suddenly slipped on a patch of ice and nearly fell into the abyss. Kalan reacted swiftly, grabbing her wrist just in time and pulling her back.
"Be careful!" Kalan's voice was tense. "It's too dangerous here; we can't keep searching blindly."
Just when they felt hopeless, Lia noticed strange symbols carved into an ice block at the edge of Ice Abyss. These symbols resembled some runes she had seen in a secret chamber of Silver Claw Castle. A thought struck her; this could be a clue leading down to the bottom of Ice Abyss.
"Kalan, look at these symbols; they might be related to the Moonlight Gem," Lia pointed out excitedly.
Kalan examined the symbols closely and realized they seemed to indicate a special path. Using his magic, he followed their guidance across the icy surface until he found a hidden entrance in an ice wall that emitted a faint blue light.
"This is it; let's go check it out," Kalan said.
They entered through the opening into a narrow ice tunnel where strange lights flickered along the walls. Following the tunnel led them to a vast ice cavern where a gem radiating soft blue light floated in mid-air—the very Moonlight Gem they had been desperately seeking.
However, before they could celebrate their discovery, an ice beast guarding the Moonlight Gem appeared. This creature was enormous and resembled a giant Ice Bear; its eyes glowed with cold red light while its breath could instantly freeze surrounding air into icicles.
The Ice Bear let out an enraged roar and charged toward them. Kalan and Lia quickly split up; Kalan drew its attention head-on while unleashing Dark Moon Power to counteract the beast's icy strength. Meanwhile, Lia circled behind it in search of its weak points.
During the battle, Kalan realized that the Ice Bear's power was overwhelming; defeating it would be difficult for just the two of them alone. He thought of an audacious plan: perhaps by harmonizing Dark Moon Power with the Moonlight Gem’s energy, they could find a way to subdue the Ice Bear.
"Lia, find a way to get close to the Moonlight Gem while I distract the Ice Bear," Kalan shouted over his shoulder. "When I give you the signal, channel its power."
Lia nodded determinedly as she cautiously approached the Moonlight Gem while Kalan unleashed all his Dark Moon Power in a fierce struggle against the Ice Bear. He sustained multiple claw wounds but continued to fight valiantly.
Finally reaching near enough to touch it, Lia extended her hand toward the gem and felt a surge of powerful yet pure energy flow into her body. At that moment, Kalan signaled her; focusing intently, she guided the gem’s energy toward him as it fused with his Dark Moon Power.
In that instant of fusion between two forces, brilliant light erupted forth. Wherever this light touched, cracks began forming on the Ice Bear’s icy armor as its movements slowed down significantly. Seizing this opportunity, Kalan launched an attack; his claws struck deep into its vital point as it let out a painful roar before collapsing heavily onto the ground.
After successfully defeating the Ice Bear, Lia took the Moonlight Gem. The gem emitted a warm blue light in her hand, as if responding to the power of the Moonlight Heart within her. "We did it, Kalan!" Lia exclaimed excitedly.
Kalan looked at the Moonlight Gem in Lia's hand, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. "This is just the first step; we still have four more Moonlight Gems to find. However, with the power of this gem, our journey ahead should be a bit smoother."
With the first Moonlight Gem in hand, Lia and Kalan left the Extreme Cold Land. Following their clues, they learned that the second Moonlight Gem was located deep within the Fire Mountain Range. The Fire Mountain Range was an area filled with molten lava and flames, contrasting sharply with the environment of the Extreme Cold Land. The temperatures here were extremely high, with rivers of lava flowing between the mountains and fierce flames erupting from volcanic craters, creating a spectacular yet dangerous sight.
As they stepped into the Fire Mountain Range, Lia and Kalan immediately felt the scorching heat wave hit them. The air was thick with a pungent sulfur smell, and the ground beneath their feet was searing hot, making each step feel like walking on burning coals. Kalan used his magic to create a protective barrier around them to block some of the heat waves, but they could still feel the oppressive temperature.
During their journey, they encountered a group of Fire Lizards. These massive creatures were covered in burning scales, and the flames they breathed could ignite everything around them in an instant. Upon spotting Lia and Kalan, the Fire Lizards immediately launched an attack.
Kalan transformed once more, his Silver Fur shimmering with an unusual glow in the light of the flames. He engaged in fierce combat with the Fire Lizards, using his agility to dodge their attacks while looking for opportunities to counterattack. Meanwhile, Lia utilized her surroundings; she found some special minerals and mixed them together to create a potion that could resist flames.
She sprinkled the potion over Kalan, enhancing his resistance to fire. With the potion's aid, Kalan's combat strength surged as he defeated several Fire Lizards one after another. Seeing their comrades fall, the remaining Fire Lizards quickly retreated.
After a challenging trek, they finally reached the depths of the Fire Mountain Range. In a massive pool of lava, they discovered the second Moonlight Gem. The gem was encased in a hard Fire Crystal, emitting a soft blue light that contrasted starkly with the surrounding molten lava.
Just as they were about to figure out how to extract the Moonlight Gem, a gigantic Flame Dragon erupted from the lava pool. The Flame Dragon was engulfed in roaring flames; its massive wings created heat waves strong enough to consume anyone nearby. Its eyes glowed fiercely red as it let out an ear-splitting roar and charged at Lia and Kalan.
Faced with the powerful Flame Dragon, Kalan and Lia did not back down. They knew that only by defeating the Flame Dragon could they obtain the Moonlight Gem and continue their mission to purify Dark Moon Power. A thrilling battle unfolded in the depths of the Fire Mountain Range, with their fates hanging by a thread…
