The next day, Jiang Chen returned to Quiet Villa.
"Master, have you caught the Ling Snake?" It was Ye Ming who spoke.
"Yes, let's head to the backyard," Jiang Chen nodded, secretly wondering if something had gone wrong with Xiaobai's training.
Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei were also curious, and Chen Zhi, along with Lin Yin and Ding Yan, followed them into the villa's backyard. The spiritual mist here was thick, almost to the point of obscuring visibility.
Jiang Chen took out the Jade Gourd and released the Ling Snake.
Amidst the thin mist, a long, white figure immediately appeared. As everyone looked closely, their faces changed in shock. However, given their high levels of cultivation, including Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei, who had already reached the Divine Realm, they managed to maintain their composure despite their surprise.
"Mr. Jiang, a white snake this big? Is it really useful to bring it here?" Lou Yijing controlled her nervousness and spoke with forced calmness.
"This is a Ling Snake; it has gained spiritual intelligence and will be training alongside all of you from now on," Jiang Chen explained, then added, "Since it is a white snake, let's call it Xiaobai!"
"Alright, Master. Can Xiaobai also cultivate?" Ye Ming couldn't help but ask, as she was a Ling Snake herself and particularly concerned about it.
"Of course it can cultivate. Before long, Xiaobai will be able to speak," Jiang Chen smiled.
The first step for a demon to become an adult is to speak human words. Xiaobai had been cultivating for quite some time; however, without guidance from a master before this, its progress had been incredibly slow. Now that it had encountered Jiang Chen and would reside in Quiet Villa—benefiting from the rich Spiritual Energy there—along with the teachings from the Demon Cultivation Manual that Jiang Chen provided, its cultivation speed would increase dramatically: one day of training could equal a hundred or even a thousand days previously. Within just over a year, achieving physical form and being able to speak would be quite normal; transforming completely within three years was also possible. Of course, transforming into a human-like form was against the natural order and would likely attract heavenly retribution even on Earth; thus, it could be dangerous. However, since Xiaobai was Jiang Chen's first Yao Xiu disciple, he would not let her fall easily.
Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei stood by in stunned silence.
A white snake cultivating to speak? Wasn't that something out of a myth?
"Mr. Jiang, can this white snake really talk?" Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei looked at Jiang Chen with disbelief written all over their faces.
"If even a tree can gain spirit, then animals can certainly learn to speak as well. This world is far more marvelous than you imagine; myths are indeed credible," Jiang Chen said with a faint smile as he explained casually, shattering their previous notions.
Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei were still thinking within the confines of Earthly martial arts and regarded Jiang Chen as merely at the Xiantian Realm of martial arts; they never expected that his words would elevate their understanding to the level of "gods and demons."
As Lou Yijing regained her senses, she felt she should reassess her view of Jiang Chen but found this revelation hard to accept and hesitated for a moment.
However, after staying in Quiet Villa for three days, both Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei firmly believed that Jiang Chen was indeed divine.
The experiences of those three days completely overturned their worldviews; Lou Yijing even discovered that she was no longer a match for Ye Ming, who had only been training with Jiang Chen for just over a year.
Lou Yijing no longer entertained thoughts of returning to Baodao.
