Luna's small hand tightly grasped Aelia's clothing, her little face scrunched up in worry as she said in a surprisingly firm baby voice, "Mom... be careful... Magic Castle... dangerous..."
Aelia's heart jolted at her daughter's overly serious big eyes, a wave of inexplicable unease washing over her.
Luna, her daughter, had shown extraordinary intelligence since arriving in this world, even seeming to foresee certain events.
Recalling Leonard's earlier outburst and Luna's current warning, the taut string in Aelia's heart snapped with a resounding crack, nearly breaking.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.
"Qin Si, prepare yourself. We are going to the Place of Blessing."
The Place of Blessing was located at the center of the Magic Castle, a sacred land protected by the Ancient Magic Circle.
It was said that praying here could earn one the blessing of the God of Magic.
At this moment, Aelia desperately needed a glimmer of comfort, a thread of hope, even if it was just self-reassurance.
The corridor leading to the Place of Blessing twisted and turned, with ancient Magic Runes carved into the walls on either side. Under the glow of magical lamps, they flickered with a soft light.
Aelia hurried along, her brows furrowed, as waves of worry surged within her like an incoming tide, nearly overwhelming her.
Luna followed closely beside her, holding onto the hem of her dress with tiny hands. Her serious expression resembled that of a little guardian.
Qin Si cautiously trailed behind the mother and daughter, occasionally glancing up at Aelia's expression, afraid to make a sound.
The air was filled with a faint scent of sandalwood mixed with the unique aura of the Ancient Magic Circle, creating a sense of tranquility yet subtly tinged with oppression.
Aelia's heartbeat quickened as if something within her was about to break free.
In the center stood a massive Magic Candelabra, its flames burning with an eternal Magic Sacred Fire that would never extinguish.
Aelia approached the candelabra, kneeling down in reverence. She clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, and silently prayed, "Great God of Magic, please bless the Glorious Demon Fortress, protect my family, and help us safely navigate through this crisis..."
Her voice trembled, laced with a hint of desperation and plea.
Luna mimicked her actions, kneeling beside her with small hands clasped together, praying in a baby voice.
Qin Si stood nearby, quietly observing them.
Suddenly, the flames on the Magic Candelabra went out with a soft puff.
Aelia's eyes flew open in terror as she stumbled back, nearly losing her balance.
Qin Si quickly reached out to steady her.
"Madam, are you alright?"
Aelia's face turned pale, her lips quivering as she struggled to find her voice.
The Magic Sacred Fire at the Place of Blessing symbolized the Destiny of the Magic Castle. Now that the Holy Fire had extinguished, could it be a sign of...?
At that moment, images began to emerge on the walls surrounding the Place of Blessing.
A dark aura of magic spread throughout, engulfing the Magic Castle in shadows. Buildings crumbled as people fled in panic, their cries and screams echoing through the air...
The surrounding Magic Runes flickered erratically, emitting a piercing hum like that of a crystal.
Qin Si covered her mouth in fear, her face turning ghostly white.
Luna held Aelia tightly, her small body trembling slightly.
"A bad omen! This is a bad omen!" A voice filled with age echoed from the doorway.
A hurried figure entered, dressed in a black Magic Robe and wearing a Castle Spire hat.
She glanced at the illusion, her expression grave as she said, "This is a sign of Dark Magic; the Magic Castle is about to face a tremendous crisis!"
She surveyed the room and spoke sternly, "Everyone except the Lady of the Fortress, leave at once!"
The crowd dared not disobey; they knelt in prayer for the God of Magic's forgiveness before hastily exiting the Place of Blessing.
Only Aelia, Luna, and the seer remained in the Place of Blessing.
The air was thick with tension and fear.
The seer approached Aelia and said in a low voice, "Lady of the Fortress, please draw a fortune stick to inquire about your heart's desire."
Taking a deep breath, Aelia tried to calm herself.
With the support of Luna and Qin Si, she trembled as she walked to the fortune stick container, closed her eyes, and silently prayed.
She reached in and drew a stick, handing it to the seer.
The seer took the stick, glanced at it, and her expression shifted slightly.
"This is a Fate Divination Stick," she said in a deep and mysterious tone. "It signifies that while there is hope for the Magic Castle's crisis, it also harbors danger."
Pausing for a moment, her gaze fell on Aelia's stick as she continued slowly, "Madam, do you know that this Fate Divination Stick actually comes in two?"
The words of the oracle struck Aelia like a bolt of lightning, leaving her feeling as if her blood had turned to ice. Her hand, clutching the divination stick, trembled uncontrollably.
"Two... two sides? What does that mean?!" Her voice shattered, tinged with a desperate hope, as if she were a drowning person grasping at the last straw.
A flicker of dim light shone in the oracle's murky eyes as she extended her bony hand, slowly tracing the ancient patterns on the stick, as if deciphering the code of Destiny.
"This Fate Divination Stick corresponds to two sides. One side represents life, symbolizing hope and change; the other side signifies a deadlock, foretelling destruction and an end. Madam, you have drawn only one side."
Aelia's face turned as pale as paper as she clutched Luna tightly, as if trying to merge her into her very being.
Luna sensed her mother's trembling and reached out her small hand, holding Aelia close with unwavering determination in her innocent voice: "Mommy, don’t be afraid! Luna will protect you! Luna will face it together with you!"
That tender yet powerful voice was like a beacon in the darkness, instantly dispelling much of Aelia's fear.
She looked down at her daughter's clear and resolute eyes, feeling a warm current surge within her.
Yes, she was not alone; she had Luna and her other children!
For their sake, she needed to be strong!
She lifted her head, her gaze regaining its determination as she stared directly at the oracle.
"Oracle, please tell me what is going on. What kind of crisis is the Magic Castle facing?!"
The oracle gazed deeply at Aelia, as if trying to see through her very soul.
"Madam, the crisis facing the Magic Castle this time is anything but ordinary. The encroachment of Dark Magic is far more terrifying than you can imagine. If we are not careful, the entire Magic Castle will fall into the Eternal Abyss!"
Upon hearing this, Aelia could no longer suppress the fear within her; tears streamed down her face.
“Eternal Abyss... How could this happen... How could it be like this...” Everything she had painstakingly built, her cherished family—was it all going to be destroyed in an instant?
Qin Si stood nearby, equally bewildered. She had never witnessed such a terrifying sight, nor had she ever heard such a despairing prophecy.
She wanted to comfort Aelia, but found her throat dry, unable to utter a single word.
Luna gently wiped the tears from Aelia's face and softly reassured her, “Mom, don’t cry. Luna believes there will be a way! We can definitely defeat the dark Dark Magic!”
The fortune teller watched the mother and daughter with a sigh and slowly said, “Destiny is not entirely predetermined; often within a crisis lies an opportunity. This Fate Divination Stick is a symbol of that opportunity.”
Upon hearing this, Aelia suddenly lifted her head, hope reigniting in her eyes.
“Opportunity? What opportunity?! Fortune teller, please tell me what we must do to resolve this crisis?!”
The fortune teller shook her head and replied, “Tian Ji must not be revealed. I can only tell you that within the Magic Castle, there exists a power that counters Dark Magic. Whether you can find this power and successfully utilize it depends on your own Destiny.”
She paused before continuing, “Remember, you must find another Fate Divination Stick. Only by gathering two divine sticks can you truly see the course of Destiny and find the key to resolving the crisis.”
With that, the fortune teller cast a deep glance at Aelia and Luna before turning away, leaning on her staff as she slowly left the Place of Blessing.
Her figure vanished into the darkness as if she had never been there at all.
The Place of Blessing returned to its calm state, leaving only Aelia, Luna, and Qin Si behind.
Yet the tension and fear lingering in the air could not be shaken off.
Aelia tightly gripped the divine stick in her hand, filled with both anticipation and worry.
Anticipating that they would find a way to resolve the crisis while worrying about where the unknown Destiny would lead her and her family.
“Madam, what should we do now?” Qin Si asked cautiously.
Aelia took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.
“We must find another Fate Divination Stick!” she said with determination in her eyes. “Only then can we know the future of the Magic Castle!”
Luna nodded, her small face serious. “Mommy, let’s search together!”
Aelia looked at her daughter, filled with gratitude and strength.
She knew that no matter what the future held, she would not be alone.
She had her Children, and together they would face and overcome all difficulties!
“Qin Si, you can go now. I have something I want to discuss with Luna privately,” Aelia instructed.
Although Qin Si was a bit worried, he obediently stepped back.
Once Qin Si left, Aelia held Luna in her arms and gently asked, “Luna, tell Mommy, do you know something?”
Luna blinked her eyes and said in a baby voice, “Mommy, Luna doesn’t know. Luna only knows that the Magic Castle is very dangerous now, and we all need to be careful.”
Aelia looked at her daughter, filled with confusion.
Luna’s maturity and wisdom far exceeded that of her peers.
She always felt that there were secrets hidden within her daughter.
“Luna…” Aelia wanted to ask more, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.
She changed color, clutching her stomach and groaning in pain.
“Mom! What’s wrong?!” Luna exclaimed, startled, as she rushed to embrace Aelia.
Aelia's face was pale, beads of sweat rolling down her forehead.
In agony, she said, “Luna… Mom… Mom might… might…”
Before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood, staining both her and Luna's clothes.
“Madam! Madam!” Qin Si heard the commotion and rushed in. Upon seeing the scene before her, she was instantly terrified.
She quickly supported Aelia and shouted in panic, “Hurry! Go fetch the Mage!”
The Mage hurriedly arrived and, after examining Aelia, his expression grew serious.
He hesitated, as if there was something difficult to say.
“Mage, what’s wrong with her?!” Qin Si asked anxiously.
The Mage sighed and shook his head slowly. “Madam…,” he paused, his gaze falling on Aelia's abdomen, his eyes filled with a complex expression. “This matter… I’m afraid it’s closely related to Dark Magic…”
