In the divine realm, a harmonious and radiant world, golden sunlight bathed every inch of land, bringing life to all things. Today, the divine realm held a grand celebration to honor the birth of the God of Light. The gods gathered together, laughter and joy echoing in the air, while the square in front of the temple was filled with various precious gifts. The citizens of the divine realm donned splendid attire, their faces glowing with delight.
Amidst this lively scene, one deity stood out in a white robe. He was the chief attendant of the God of Light, named Dawn. With golden long hair and eyes that sparkled like stars, he possessed a handsome face and an elegant demeanor. Dawn was responsible for assisting the God of Light during the celebration, ensuring everything proceeded smoothly. He moved gracefully through the crowd, smiling as he greeted each guest, his presence warm like sunlight, bringing joy to those around him.
However, within this joyous atmosphere, an unexpected guest quietly appeared. Dressed in a black robe adorned with mysterious runes, his expression was stern and his gaze held a hint of defiance. He was a messenger from the demon realm, named Shadow. Shadow did not intend to disrupt the celebration; he had been sent by the Lord of the Demon Realm to seek some subtle balance with the divine realm. Although they were adversaries, there were moments when both realms needed to maintain equilibrium for the sake of world stability.
Shadow's arrival went largely unnoticed as he stood alone in a corner of the square, quietly observing everything. His gaze pierced through the crowd and landed on Dawn. The radiance of Dawn seemed to penetrate the darkness within Shadow's heart, causing him to pause in surprise. He had never encountered such a pure and warm presence before, stirring feelings within him that he had never experienced.
At that moment, Dawn was busy serving fine wine to guests, his smile brushing against each person's heart like a gentle spring breeze. When he turned around, his eyes inadvertently met Shadow's. In that instant, time seemed to freeze. Dawn saw the coldness and loneliness in Shadow's eyes, while Shadow glimpsed Dawn's warmth and kindness. They locked eyes for a moment; Dawn was slightly taken aback but quickly offered a polite smile, while Shadow swiftly looked away and vanished into the crowd.
After the celebration concluded, Dawn returned to his dwelling but could not shake off thoughts of that dark figure. He did not understand why he felt such intense curiosity towards someone from the demon realm. He tried to dismiss these thoughts, yet Shadow's face kept resurfacing in his mind.
Meanwhile, Shadow returned to the demon realm. It was starkly different from the divine realm—filled with darkness and chill, an oppressive atmosphere hung in the air. Alone in his dark palace, Shadow recalled that moment in the divine realm. Dawn's light shone like a beacon, illuminating the dark corners of his heart. He knew he should not harbor any feelings for someone from the divine realm, yet that warmth was irresistible.
Days later, a minor conflict erupted between the divine and demon realms. The envoys from both sides faced off at their border with tension thick in the air. As an attendant of the God of Light, Dawn was dispatched to the border as well. Upon seeing Shadow among the demon envoys, his heart tightened involuntarily. Shadow’s gaze also fell upon Dawn’s; they silently exchanged glances during this standoff.
As battle loomed imminent, Dawn suddenly spoke up: “Why must we be enemies? Can we not coexist peacefully?” His voice was gentle yet firm, leaving everyone present momentarily stunned. A flicker of complex emotion crossed Shadow's eyes; he did not respond but found it difficult to quell the turmoil within.
The standoff ultimately ended with both sides retreating temporarily; however, an intricate bond began to take root between Dawn and Shadow. They started encountering each other unexpectedly at the border; each meeting was laden with complex emotions. Dawn’s kindness and warmth gradually melted away Shadow’s inner ice while Shadow’s coldness and solitude revealed stories hidden behind his facade.
Yet they both understood that this bond was forbidden. The hatred between their realms ran deep; their love would not be blessed. But fate had already begun its course; they could not resist their inner callings and could only linger on this forbidden edge, feeling both warmth and pain brought by one another.
