"You must comply," Jiang Chen said again.
Lou Yijing was taken aback, staring blankly at Jiang Chen. His tone was firm, and it seemed that refusal was not an option.
"Why? Mr. Jiang, do you really want to help Liu Liangmei deal with me?" Lou Yijing looked at Jiang Chen with her beautiful eyes, a hint of playful reproach in her gaze.
"I want you to be useful; this time, come back with me to the Domestic," Jiang Chen replied.
"Ah? Back to the Domestic?"
"Mr. Jiang, why do you want her to go back?" Both Lou Yijing and Liu Liangmei looked surprised.
"Because you have good talent and are worth cultivating; I will need you to play a role in the future," Jiang Chen explained.
Although Jiang Chen's words were clear, Lou Yijing still wore a face of confusion and shock. She was already fifty years old; how could Jiang Chen want to cultivate her? It sounded strange.
"Mr. Jiang, you’re not joking, are you? Why would you want to cultivate me? There are plenty of young people out there. If you want someone to cultivate, I can help you find younger candidates," Lou Yijing said. She had no desire to be cultivated, even if Jiang Chen was a master superior to her.
"Do you think I have nothing better to do than to cultivate you? If it weren't for your impressive talent, I wouldn't have kept you around this long," Jiang Chen said indifferently.
Lou Yijing had no retort and secretly wondered if Jiang Chen had some peculiar preference for wanting to cultivate her. The term "cultivate" was more suitable for children; she was a middle-aged woman who, at her age, could even be a grandmother.
"Uh, Mr. Jiang, thank you for recognizing my talent, but don’t let my youthful appearance fool you; I’m fifty years old. What use is it to cultivate an old lady? Young children are much more malleable; I’m already set in my ways and hard to cultivate," Lou Yijing said.
"Lou Yijing, you're really lacking in appreciation. To be chosen for cultivation by Mr. Jiang is a blessing from your past life," Liu Liangmei scoffed. She didn’t even have that privilege, yet Lou Yijing was reluctant to accept it.
It wasn’t entirely Lou Yijing’s fault. Although she had sparred with Jiang Chen, it had been merely superficial; she hadn’t witnessed his true powers and thus thought of him as just a slightly stronger master. Even if Jiang Chen were at the Transcendent Realm, Lou Yijing was hesitant to accept his cultivation offer—she was already at the Divine Realm. The difference between them was just one level; she was used to her freedom and didn’t want to be cultivated or constrained.
On the other hand, Liu Liangmei had seen Jiang Chen in action in Xiangxi and was certain that his strength far exceeded that of the Transcendent Realm. While the Transcendent Realm masters were rare, there were still some on Earth; however, those masters did not possess the power to cleave mountains with a single sword strike.
In truth, Liu Liangmei leaned towards believing that Jiang Chen had already reached that legendary realm. The pinnacle of martial arts—returning to simplicity—was known as Xiantian. Stepping into the Xiantian Realm meant entering an even more vast and boundless world. Of course, this legendary realm was something Liu Liangmei only fantasized about; as for the true Xiantian Realm, she had heard from her master that it hadn’t appeared in over a century.
Lou Yijing rolled her eyes at Liu Liangmei. "Such a blessing is truly beyond my reach. Mr. Jiang, I live quite well on the treasure island and being older now, I just want to enjoy my later years peacefully without further turmoil. My junior sister has good talent too; why don’t you cultivate her instead?"
