The Legend of the Immortals Prequel: Wilderness Journey 0

The dark clouds dissipated, and sunlight poured down, revealing a clear sky once again, as if the world had been refreshed after the rain. The Azure Cloud Mountain Range basked in brilliant sunlight, its ethereal aura making it appear like a paradise on earth from a distance, truly deserving of its reputation as the foremost mountain in Middle-earth for thousands of years. 0

However, if one were to look down from above at this moment, they would see countless swift figures darting up and down the Azure Cloud Mountain, smoke rising as battles raged on. The great war between good and evil had not yet ceased. Blades flashed everywhere, and the cries of the wounded were heart-wrenching. Overall, however, the siege by the demonic sect against Azure Cloud Mountain was clearly losing momentum. From the mountaintop to the foot of the mountain, most of the fighting was dominated by Azure Cloud Sect, with many instances of their disciples pursuing and killing the followers of the demonic sect in anger. 0

Among them, at a certain location near the southern foothills of Tongfeng, a particularly fierce battle was taking place. On one side were seven or eight followers of the demonic sect, while on the other side stood only two disciples of Azure Cloud Sect. One was tall and handsome, wielding a yellow celestial sword with ease and remarkable skill; the other was short and stout, appearing ordinary but holding a Crimson Flame Sword. Although his sword radiance was splendid, his movements in both offense and defense were steady and composed, clearly indicating that he was also a disciple of Azure Cloud Sect with solid foundational skills. 0

The members of the demonic sect relied on their numbers and intended to surround and kill these two seemingly naive Azure Cloud Disciples before making their escape. However, once they engaged in combat, despite appearing to be at a disadvantage, these two Azure Cloud Disciples demonstrated unexpectedly strong abilities. Even though they seemed to be under pressure at that moment, they showed no signs of defeat and managed to hold back this group of demonic sect members, preventing them from escaping. 0

Among the two, the stout disciple wore a serious expression and appeared somewhat dull-witted, yet his actions were swift. Especially with his Crimson Flame Sword dancing brilliantly like flowing clouds, he maintained an impenetrable defense against the relentless attacks from the demonic sect members. He bore about seventy to eighty percent of their full offensive force without retreating. 0

In contrast, the taller disciple moved much more gracefully than his stout companion. The yellow sword radiance flowed like wind, transforming into countless whirlwinds that resembled flowers blooming in the breeze—truly an eye-opening sight. Although these sword blossoms appeared beautiful, whenever they approached, members of the demonic sect instinctively avoided them, clearly aware that beneath their beauty lay formidable power. 0

As time passed in this fierce battle, although the demonic sect still held an advantage in numbers, anxiety was evident on every face among them. Everyone understood that they could not linger under Azure Cloud Mountain, yet their escape route was firmly blocked by these two troublesome individuals. 0

Moreover, it was clear that these two were sharp-minded individuals who did not seek to kill recklessly; they focused on holding their ground against these seven or eight members of the demonic sect while waiting for reinforcements from above to arrive and capture them all. 0

Everyone could see this situation clearly; naturally, members of the demonic sect could not just sit back and wait. Suddenly, a tall and burly man among them let out an angry roar and unleashed deadly moves with his subordinates—clearly agitated. 0

This roar seemed like a command; all members of the demonic sect immediately became fierce as if they had simultaneously brought out their ultimate skills to attack these two Azure Cloud Disciples with all their might. 0

In an instant, pressure surged greatly; these two Azure Cloud Disciples found it hard to withstand and began to retreat. At this moment, the yellow sword radiance lowered significantly while the previously defensive Crimson Flame Sword Radiance, although also suppressed, remained bright as it struggled to hold its ground. 0

The tall disciple retreated several steps with a flash of anger on his face and shouted: “Duanmu Tie, don’t think you can escape; I will make sure your blood stains three feet when I catch you to honor my loyal soul!” 0

“Bah!” The burly man among the demonic sect spat fiercely without paying any attention to that Azure Cloud Disciple. Suddenly turning around angrily he shouted: “Old Ghost, why aren’t you making your move?” 0

The voice was fierce, and the two disciples of the Azure Cloud Sect were startled, raising their swords to defend against the encirclement of the other demonic cult members, while their gazes turned towards the back of Duanmu Tie and the Demon. However, upon scanning the area, they were shocked to find that behind the demonic cult members was nothing but emptiness. 0

The short and stout Azure Cloud Disciple was the first to react, urgently calling out, "Heart..." 0

Before he could finish his sentence, an unexpected change occurred. A horrifying blood shadow suddenly rose from a concealed corner beside the two Azure Cloud Sect disciples. The chilling wind howled like a thousand wailing ghosts, making it feel as if the air had darkened for a moment. In an instant, that blood shadow crashed violently towards the back of the short and stout Azure Cloud Disciple. 0

Everyone present turned to look, only to see that in mid-air was a blood-red skull, stained with bright red blood, terrifying beyond measure. Its surrounding blood energy surged, clearly indicating it was an extremely malevolent object. 0

Caught off guard by this sudden turn of events, neither of the two Azure Cloud Sect disciples had anticipated that despite the overwhelming advantage of the demonic cult members, there was still a powerful expert hiding nearby who could no longer contain themselves and had now launched an attack when they were least prepared. They watched helplessly as the stout disciple was about to be struck hard by the Blood Skull. 0

In this critical moment, a clear and crisp shout rang out. An amber light surged down from mid-air like a rushing torrent, fast as lightning, instantly reaching the side of the stout disciple and colliding with the Blood Skull. 0

With a loud "bang," both the Blood Skull and the amber light flew apart. 0

Two slender figures descended and landed beside the two Azure Cloud Disciples; they were two beautiful women. One had a delicate appearance and charming demeanor; she was Su Ru, who had previously appeared on The Eight Desolations and Six Harmonies. An Amber Silk floated around her, shimmering with spiritual light and moving restlessly. Clearly, she had acted just in time to save her fellow disciple. 0

Alongside her was another woman who was tall and carried a spiritual sword. Her appearance was even more exquisite than Su Ru's, but there was a hint of coldness in her expression, suggesting she was not one to smile easily. 0

Finally receiving help from their fellow disciples invigorated both Azure Cloud Disciples. 0

However, there were still many members of the demonic cult present. Moreover, that cunning Demonic Cult Monster that had been hiding earlier was nowhere to be seen. Only Yushi wielded that fearsome Blood Skull, flying around wildly and creating chaos for these Azure Cloud Disciples. Wherever it passed, chilling winds howled; one misstep could lead to severe injuries or even death, instilling considerable fear in the four of them. Additionally, Duanmu Tie was also highly skilled; under such relentless pressure from the demonic cult members' assault, they truly broke through their previous defenses and fled without hesitation. 0

Seeing that they could not pursue them further and realizing those cunning Demons quickly scattered like rats into hidden spots within the dense forest, disappearing without a trace in no time at all, the four Azure Cloud Sect members could only stop in frustration. 0

The two men and two women stood facing each other. The taller male disciple smiled and clasped his hands towards the two women, saying, "Thank you both for your assistance. I am Zeng Shuchang from Feng Huai Peak; this is my friend Tian Buyi from Dazhu Peak." 0

Tian Buyi sheathed his Crimson Flame Sword, recalling the dangerous moment just now with lingering fear. He let out a sigh of relief and then remembered that those who had saved him were standing across from him. He quickly raised his eyes and clasped his hands in gratitude, saying, "Uh, I am Tian Buyi; thank you very much..." 0

Before the words were finished, a beautiful face illuminated by the Amber Silk appeared before him, with flowing hair, a delicate nose, and bright eyes like stars. At that moment, as the mountain breeze blew, her clothes fluttered, and she stood smiling, suddenly making the world around seem to brighten. Tian Buyi's voice faltered for a moment; he felt his heart skip a beat, and he couldn't continue his sentence. 0

Su Ru glanced at Tian Buyi and noticed that this short and plump fellow disciple had a dull expression, appearing somewhat stuttered, with beads of sweat visible on his face. She couldn't help but feel some sympathy and quickly smiled, saying, "My name is Su Ru, and this is my senior sister Shuiyue. We are both disciples under Master Zhenwu of Zhu Feng Zhen Wu." 0

Master Zhenwu was a highly respected figure in the Azure Cloud Sect, with a reputation second only to Master Chengzi, and was always revered by everyone in the sect. Zeng Shuchang and Tian Buyi both showed respect and clasped their fists together, saying, "I've heard much about you." 0

At that moment, Shuiyue, who stood beside Su Ru with a somewhat cold demeanor, glanced at Tian Buyi and suddenly spoke up, "You are from Dazhu Peak; who is Zheng Tong, Master Uncle to you?" 0

Tian Buyi replied, "He is indeed my... my master." After answering, he couldn't help but glance at Su Ru again, only to find her looking at him with a smile. Her skin was as fair as snow and her beauty was intoxicating like peach blossoms; the more he looked, the more enchanting she became, causing him to stumble over his words again. 0

Shuiyue let out an "Hmm" and nodded slowly. However, upon seeing that Tian Buyi's gaze seemed somewhat inappropriate as he kept stealing glances at her junior sister Su Ru, her expression darkened immediately and she was about to scold him. 0

Su Ru had grown up alongside her senior sister and shared a close bond. She understood Shuiyue's temperament well; just one glance was enough for her to know that Shuiyue was about to get angry. She quickly grabbed her arm and smiled, saying, "Senior sister, why are you getting angry for no reason?" Then she squeezed Shuiyue's wrist gently and whispered, "Brother Tian has difficulty speaking; please don't make it hard for him." 0

"Difficulties in speaking?" Shuiyue paused for a moment and looked at Tian Buyi with some suspicion as if she found it hard to believe. 0

Tian Buyi and Zeng Shuchang also heard this remark and exchanged bewildered glances. 0

Su Ru wanted to say more when suddenly her gaze sharpened as she looked toward the foot of the mountain in the distance. She pointed in that direction and exclaimed loudly, "Ah! Look over there!" 0
