Zhou Jin struggled to piece together the incoherent phrases in his mind, finally managing to transfer them onto the screen after a long and arduous fifteen minutes. Once he had finished typing the letter, he loaded paper into the printer and sent it to print, stealing a glance at Xue Mei, who was still standing behind him with a watchful gaze.
As soon as the printing was done, before Zhou Jin could even reach for the paper, Xue Mei swiftly snatched it away. She scanned it with an expression that was unsatisfied yet begrudgingly accepting.
After reading it, she turned to walk out the door. Just as Zhou Jin and Xiao Ya were about to breathe a sigh of relief, she glanced back and saw Zhou Jin still dazed at the computer. She snapped, “What are you still doing?”
“Nothing… really!” Zhou Jin replied.
“Then let’s go!” Xue Mei insisted.
“Go… where?” Zhou Jin asked.
“I have more things to discuss with you.”
Zhou Jin felt a surge of curses rising in his heart but dared not voice them. This little witch was determined to find an opportunity to make him suffer.
“Let’s move!” Xue Mei turned and strode confidently toward the door.
Zhou Jin exchanged a helpless glance with Xiao Ya, who was unable to hide her deep resentment as she shrank back into her seat on the rattan chair. With a heavy heart, Zhou Jin steeled himself and followed her out.
Once they exited the office, Xue Mei stood waiting for him. She gestured for him to follow with a “let’s go” expression. Reluctantly, he stepped out into the corridor beside her.
“What’s this about?” Zhou Jin couldn’t help but ask again.
“I think we should discuss this letter further,” she said with a sly smile. “Isn’t that great?”
Zhou Jin felt exasperated. “Can’t we just discuss it like this?”
“Hmm… no…” Xue Mei shook her head. “We need to go to my place to talk.”
“That… doesn’t seem right…” Zhou Jin protested weakly.
“Stop whining!” Xue Mei cut him off before he could argue further.
Poor Zhou Jin trudged behind Xue Mei, unwilling yet unable to resist. He deliberately lagged two or three steps behind her as a silent protest.
Today, Xue Mei wore a sleeveless cotton casual top paired with a soft-fitting light-colored long skirt. Zhou Jin found himself staring at her swaying hips from behind. To be honest, Xue Mei had quite an appealing figure; although it was slightly lower than that of most Eastern women, it was round and bouncy, making for an attractive sight as she walked. In his memory, Xue Mei usually favored pants or dark short skirts and rarely dressed in such a feminine manner.
He couldn’t help but sigh again; Xue Mei’s hips filled his vision with fiery thoughts. The swaying flesh revealed no trace of underwear, leading Zhou Jin to guess she was wearing form-fitting pants.
Lost in thoughts about the alluring Xue Mei and the enchanting Xiao Ya, his mind became restless until suddenly an idea struck him.
“Hey! Xue Mei…” Zhou Jin called out.
“What is it?” Xue Mei stopped in her tracks.
"I... I didn't save that letter," Zhou Jin said, licking his lips. "If we want to make changes... it will be quite inconvenient."
"You really have a lot of issues," Xue Mei rolled her eyes at him. "What do we do now?"
"The draft is still on the computer. I'll save it to a disk so we can take it with us," Zhou Jin replied.
Xue Mei glared at him for a few seconds, making Zhou Jin feel extremely uncomfortable. Finally, she said, "Hurry up and come back!"
Zhou Jin felt as if he had been granted a reprieve. He quickly agreed and turned to walk back, speeding up as he rounded the corner of the corridor, almost running in fear that Xue Mei might change her mind and call him back.
Xiao Ya was feeling lost as she prepared to tidy up the office. She approached the PC station and stared blankly at the text Zhou Jin had left on the screen. Suddenly, she heard a loud "bang" and turned to see Zhou Jin hurriedly closing the door behind him. In an instant, his robust figure was right in front of her.
