The entire mountain trembled with a thunderous roar. Mo Wen, who had been focused on the scenery, stumbled and nearly fell face-first onto the rocky ground. He quickly redirected his gaze, no longer interested in the outside chaos, and began assembling his Xing Zhou within the small stone chamber. According to his original design, if this Xing Zhou succeeded, it would be at least twice as fast as the one purchased from Huo Lou, and most importantly, it would have an appealing appearance.
The storm outside intensified, with massive waves crashing against the mountain where Mo Wen was located. The entire mountain creaked ominously as if it might collapse at any moment. Loose stones began to fall from the ceiling of his stone chamber, and lava had already reached the cave entrance. This was the lowest point of the surrounding lava flow, while above, strong winds swept away various Demon Beasts.
Two days later, Mo Wen could no longer see outside. His cave had become submerged in lava, with only occasional glimpses of Demon Beasts struggling past his entrance, swept away into the distance. Mo Wen was not worried about his location collapsing; if it were to fall, it would be the entire mountain that crumbled. Even if it did collapse, he could still hide inside his Lava Skiff and dive deep into the lava. According to his understanding, while the Lava Sea's bottom might be affected, it wouldn't be as turbulent as the surface.
Days away from Mo Wen's location, a massive wave was forming—this was the largest wave of the storm. Its crest reached up to the dome above, and contact with the underlying lava caused it to solidify rapidly, thickening the dome. The waves destroyed everything in their path with overwhelming force, shattering stone pillars ahead of them. Behind these waves were enormous Fire Tornadoes that continuously absorbed lava from below, forming new giant stone pillars that supported the continent above.
Five days later, this colossal wave reached Mo Wen's area. Compared to five days prior, it had weakened significantly; however, its immense impact against the mountain where Mo Wen's cave was located caused it to shift slightly. Cracks appeared in the mountain due to the shockwave, but these fissures were quickly filled and bonded by the rushing lava. The tremendous vibrations forced Mo Wen to pause his assembly of the Xing Zhou and look outside. All he could see was lava, along with Demon Beasts tossed about helplessly within it. Additionally, some materials polished by the waves glimmered in the lava; these materials were massive and began to sink as the flow slowed down.
The tunnel Mo Wen had carved also started to crack as lava seeped in from outside. Fortunately, a Magic Circle provided some protection; otherwise, his carved cave would have become his grave. Although he could move around in the lava for a short time, he had no idea how long the raging waves and fierce winds would last. At that moment, lava filled everything from the dome above down to the seabed.
After observing the situation outside, Mo Wen busied himself again. He retrieved Beast Tendons from his storage space and began refining them. His potential gains after the waves receded depended on these Beast Tendons—each one harvested from kills made in the Lava Sea. After working with them for a while, he took out a Skeleton obtained from within the Lava Bat Cave. When he first found it, it was already a skeleton with bones as white as jade; he had thought it looked special and decided to keep it. Now he carefully examined it and determined that this Demon Beast had transcended in life based on its residual aura. What Mo Wen needed to do now was refine this skeleton into a cage and attach prepared ropes to it for retrieving items from beneath the sea.
