Once everything was organized, he took out a box made of an unknown material that appeared quite old. The carved patterns on its surface were already faint. This was the box that contained the Little Sapling he had acquired. According to Huo Lou and Elder Zhu, this tree had been purchased from a martial artist who, after his research, confirmed that the small Tree had not been tampered with. The martial artist was merely at the Refining Spirit Realm and had intended to venture into the Lava Sea in search of an Opportunity. Seeing the ancient appearance of the box, he decided to take it with him. Initially, the martial artist intended to have Huo Lou appraise the box and figure out how to open it, but after everyone examined it, they were left perplexed. Elder Zhu was present at that time as well and found the box intriguing; after some haggling, he purchased it for eight ingots of silver.
Looking at the box and the Jade Tablet on the table, Mo Wen decided to examine the contents of the Jade Tablet first. He was curious about what was written on it that even someone like Elder Zhu could not comprehend. He pressed the Jade Tablet against his forehead, his breathing becoming heavier as excitement filled his face. However, as he read the information, his initially fiery enthusiasm gradually cooled until he felt an icy chill, his expression turning more sorrowful than if he were crying.
Setting down the Jade Tablet, he rubbed his forehead. After deciphering some of the text, he could barely grasp its meaning. It was a script even older and more obscure than Yin Wen, which could be said to have evolved from this very script. Elder Zhu had not deceived himself; there were very few who understood Yin Wen. If it weren't for the knowledge imparted by Old Lu, seeing these characters would have felt like reading incomprehensible symbols. It was no wonder that Elder Zhu couldn't understand them.
What pleased Mo Wen was that since this item was inscribed in ancient script, it must be something rare. The origins of this Little Sapling were indeed remarkable; if it were to grow, it would undoubtedly become a rare Treasure. The martial artist's inability to open the box likely stemmed from the fact that the circle hadn't completely failed at that time. As for how Elder Zhu managed to open it, it was simply because the circle had fully lost its efficacy. However, even if the circle hadn't failed, Mo Wen wouldn't have had the ability to open the box anyway; there was no information in the Jade Tablet regarding how to do so.
Gently placing the box back on the table, he opened it once more. He had already seen what was inside: half a box filled with white crystalline powder in which the Xiu sapling was growing. Looking at the Little Sapling, Mo Wen sighed and closed the box again; he still hadn’t figured out how to deal with this sapling.
