"It seems we can't have fun anymore," Yang Yuxin said, shaking her head and secretly regretting her earlier words.
"Let's not mention Mr. Jiang; we're still good friends," Qin Xiaoya replied.
"Alright, alright, no more about him. If it weren't for seeing him with you, I wouldn't even glance his way. By the way, let me show you what a handsome guy looks like," Yang Yuxin continued, pulling out her phone and flipping to a photo. In it, she was cuddling with a European Handsome Guy, their poses intimate.
This European Handsome Guy was indeed very handsome.
"What do you think? My boyfriend is handsome, right?" Yang Yuxin said proudly.
"He really is handsome," Qin Xiaoya admitted honestly.
"He has an older brother too; should I introduce you? He's just as good-looking," Yang Yuxin said with a grin.
"Stop right there; I'm not interested in foreigners," Qin Xiaoya shot back, rolling her eyes at Yang Yuxin.
Jiang Chen sat on a sofa in the lounge area, holding a glass of red wine, casually sipping while observing the various stars and celebrities around him.
This gathering of socialites was a reflection of the world's diversity. The popular stars were surrounded by many admirers, while those with less fame stood alone, awkwardly sipping their drinks without anyone to talk to. As for the wealthy elite and privileged offspring, they often ignored the small-time celebrities who approached them for conversation.
Tonight's event featured half of the entertainment industry; however, the industry was vast, encompassing first-tier, second-tier, and even those who hadn't yet made a name for themselves. In such a mixed crowd, there were bound to be some unsavory characters. Some female stars came with only one goal: to connect with wealthy young men.
As soon as they arrived, their eyes darted around in search of "prey." Jiang Chen became an object of interest for a few moments, but after glancing at him, the female stars dismissed him as unremarkable due to his ordinary attire. They were focused on those listed on their invitation list, and Jiang Chen was not among them.
However, some newcomers to the entertainment scene—those with little fame and low status—couldn't reach higher circles and had to settle for less. At least they wanted to make some connections during the evening.
One girl, likely in her twenties, had been staring at Jiang Chen for quite some time before cautiously approaching him and sitting down on the sofa opposite him. She changed her posture several times, expecting Jiang Chen to strike up a conversation. To her surprise, he treated her like air and completely ignored her.
"Um... hello! Did you come to the party alone?" she finally asked when Jiang Chen remained silent, clearly feeling shy.
Only then did Jiang Chen turn his gaze toward her. The girl wore a light blue evening gown and had a rather innocent appearance; she seemed to be a recent graduate from a film academy who was still new to the entertainment industry and nervous about approaching him.
"I came with someone else," Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile.
Seeing that Jiang Chen did not refuse, the girl visibly relaxed a little.
"My name is Wu Xiangli, and I am a newly signed artist under Tianyang Entertainment this year. Can we get to know each other?" Wu Xiangli introduced herself.
"My name is Jiang Chen," Jiang Chen replied with a slight smile, not pushing her away.
