As her childhood friend, Qin Xiaoya naturally understood her personality well. Ever since they were young, she had always been aloof, especially towards boys, showing an innate resistance. If it weren't for the circumstances, she would hardly interact with any men.
If there wasn't something special between Qin Xiaoya and Jiang Chen, how could she possibly feel shy? The only thing that could make an ice queen blush was love.
"That's not true," Qin Xiaoya insisted once more.
However, her explanation sounded somewhat weak. Yang Yuxin had already formed her opinion and wasn't willing to listen. She scrutinized Jiang Chen again and, with a playful smile, said, "I never expected Qin Xiaoya to be interested in you. I’m starting to doubt her taste. Do you really think you’re worthy of her?"
"Yang Yuxin!" Qin Xiaoya said anxiously, dragging Yang Yuxin aside. She didn't want her friend making wild comments in front of Jiang Chen.
"Why are you so worked up?" Yang Yuxin asked, bewildered.
"You... just stop talking," Qin Xiaoya said seriously, looking quite anxious.
"You’re really strange. As your good friend, I feel the need to point this out: your taste is really questionable. This guy isn’t exactly a heartthrob, and his fashion sense leaves much to be desired. Why are you even interested in him? Does he have some impressive background? But it seems like there aren’t any prominent Jiang families in the capital," Yang Yuxin pondered aloud.
"Yang Yuxin, please just mind your own business," Qin Xiaoya replied. If it weren't for their long-standing friendship, she wouldn't have bothered saying so much.
"I can’t just ignore it! If you want to date someone, just tell me! I can introduce you to my brother; he’s been interested in you for a while. Besides, he’s way taller and more handsome than this Jiang guy. You two would be a perfect match! If you end up with him, it would be like Beauty and the Beast," Yang Yuxin said.
Although Yang Yuxin's voice was low, Jiang Chen still heard her words. He merely smiled faintly and chose not to engage.
"Qin Xiaoya, you chat with your friend; I’ll go sit over there," Jiang Chen said as he took a glass of red wine and moved to the nearby lounge area.
"Yang Yuxin, enough about your brother! I’m not interested in him at all. And Mr. Jiang is not my boyfriend; please stop spreading rumors," Qin Xiaoya warned seriously.
"Alright, alright! I won’t say anything more. But if he’s not your boyfriend, why are you blushing? That’s odd," Yang Yuxin replied, sensing that Qin Xiaoya was getting upset but still feeling confused.
"Blushing is normal! Just look at your outfit; it’s so revealing! Even I feel embarrassed just looking at it," Qin Xiaoya said as she glanced down at Yang Yuxin's daring attire with a sigh.
"What’s wrong with this? Haven't you seen those European and American celebrities on the red carpet? My outfit is actually quite conservative compared to theirs," Yang Yuxin retorted confidently.
"Fine," Qin Xiaoya conceded, unable to argue further.
"Now tell me about that guy! How did you two meet?" Yang Yuxin continued her inquisitive probing.
"Yang Yuxin, please be a bit more polite towards Mr. Jiang and stop asking about him! If you keep this up, I might have to tell your parents that you already have a boyfriend in the United States," Qin Xiaoya warned.
Yang Yuxin glared at Jiang Chen as if to say he was quite something.
