Ten years have passed since the Battle of the Abyss. That earth-shattering conflict changed the fate of the Dragon Tribe and humanity, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of Nezha and Ao Bing. They ultimately succeeded in resealing the Abyss, but at a great cost: Ao Bing had to sacrifice a portion of the Dragon Tribe's power to maintain the seal permanently, while Nezha sacrificed part of his Demon Sphere Power. Both were left severely weakened and required a long time to recover.
However, the decade following the crisis was also the most fruitful for Nezha and Ao Bing. The Underwater Concert Hall was completed and became a world-renowned cultural landmark. After ending his professional football career, Nezha successfully transitioned into a youth football coach, nurturing a group of talented young players. Meanwhile, after completing his studies, Ao Bing balanced his duties as a prince with his commitment to preserving and promoting Dragon Music.
The communication between the Dragon Tribe and humanity increased day by day, making the world more harmonious and beautiful than ever before.
On a bright morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a golden glow over the sleeping Nezha. Ao Bing was already up, busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen. The once strict Dragon Prince now moved about in the kitchen with an air of warmth and ease that was hard to describe.
As the delicious aroma wafted into the bedroom, Nezha opened his eyes and stretched lazily. Ten years had passed, and while strands of silver had begun to mix with his red hair, his eyes remained bright and full of vitality and determination.
“Ao Bing?” Nezha called out, his voice still laced with sleepiness.
“In the kitchen,” came Ao Bing’s voice. “Get up quickly; today is a big day.”
Nezha instantly woke up; indeed, today was special—it marked twenty years since he first met Ao Bing. Twenty years ago today, an unexpected collision on the University Football Field brought together two souls destined to change each other's lives.
“I’ll be right there!” Nezha rolled out of bed, quickly dressed, and headed into the kitchen.
Ao Bing was frying eggs when he saw Nezha approach and smiled slightly. “Finally awake! Did you sleep well?”
“Yeah,” Nezha said as he gently hugged Ao Bing from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder. “I had a good dream about our first meeting.”
Ao Bing chuckled softly. “That wasn’t exactly a pleasant scene. You almost damaged my favorite book, and I nearly kicked you out of the dorm because of it.”
Nezha grinned widely. “But that encounter changed our fates.”
Ao Bing turned around to meet Nezha's gaze. “Yes, though the road has been rocky, I’ve never regretted it.”
They exchanged smiles filled with deep affection and understanding that had accumulated over the years.
During breakfast, Nezha asked, “What are your plans for today? I remember you mentioned going to the Dragon Palace?”
Ao Bing nodded. “Yes, my father wants me to attend a ceremony. But it won’t take long; I’ll be back by afternoon. What about you?”
“I have training with the team today, then I need to go for my routine check-up at the hospital,” Nezha replied, pointing to his chest where a scar from that battle remained. “But I should finish early too. Are we still going to the beach tonight?”
Ao Bing smiled and nodded. “Of course! I’ve already prepared dinner and wine; it’s all in the car.”
For twenty years now, on significant anniversaries, Nezha and Ao Bing chose to return to the beach where they first met to spend quality time together. That stretch of shoreline had become their most special place in their hearts, filled with countless precious memories.
