Spring arrived quietly, and everything began to revive. The Underwater Concert Hall was nearing completion, and Nezha's career was becoming increasingly smooth; everything seemed to be heading in a positive direction.
On a sunny weekend morning, Nezha stretched and got out of bed, discovering that Ao Bing was already in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm golden glow over the entire apartment.
"Good morning," Nezha said as he gently hugged Ao Bing from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder while he cooked eggs. "What are your plans for today?"
Ao Bing tilted his head slightly, a faint smile appearing on his lips. "Good morning. I need to go to the Dragon Palace to check on the final progress of the Underwater Concert Hall. What about you?"
"Today is a day off; I don't have any special plans," Nezha replied, reaching for a slice of toasted bread and taking a bite. "Do you want me to accompany you to the Dragon Palace?"
Ao Bing thought for a moment. "Sure, my father wants to see you too. Since the last family gathering, he seems to have changed his impression of you."
Nezha raised an eyebrow. "Really? Uncle Ao no longer sees me as the bad kid who stole his son away?"
Ao Bing chuckled lightly. "He never thought of you that way. He was just worried that being with you would distract me from fully committing to Dragon Tribe affairs. But now that he sees we can balance our careers and relationship, he's relieved."
The two enjoyed their breakfast happily before preparing to head to the Dragon Palace. Just then, Nezha's phone rang suddenly, displaying an incoming call from the Football Club manager.
"Hello, Manager Zheng, what's up?" Nezha answered the call casually.
On the other end, Manager Zheng's voice came through urgently. "Nezha, have you seen the news? The Ocean Anomaly Event!"
Nezha furrowed his brow. "What Ocean Anomaly Event?"
"Turn on the TV; almost all channels are reporting it. I'm calling to confirm whether tomorrow's training will proceed as usual since the coastal areas have been sealed off."
Nezha hurriedly hung up and switched on the television. Indeed, major news channels were broadcasting the same story—coastlines around the world had suddenly experienced significant tidal retreats, with water receding hundreds of meters and exposing seabeds that were usually covered.
Even stranger was that the exposed seabed was completely dry, devoid of any life or moisture, as if some unknown force had thoroughly drained it.
"What... what is going on?" Nezha exclaimed in shock as he stared at the images on the screen before turning to Ao Bing, who looked equally astonished. "Do you know anything about this?"
Ao Bing's expression turned serious. "No, I have no idea. This phenomenon is not natural; there must be some force at work here. We need to head to the Dragon Palace immediately; the Dragon King might know something."
The two set off right away toward the nearest entrance to the Dragon Palace. As they reached the seaside, Nezha sensed something unusual—the once calm sea surface shimmered with an eerie blue light, and the water undulated slowly and rhythmically as if it were breathing.
"I've never seen anything like this," Ao Bing observed warily as he scanned their surroundings. "Stay close; the entrance might be unstable."
They quickly submerged into the water and followed Ao Bing's lead to find the hidden entrance to the Dragon Palace. Upon entering, they immediately felt a tense atmosphere.
The usually tranquil Crystal Palace was now brightly lit, with Dragon Tribe guards patrolling in full armor while members of the Dragon Tribe moved back and forth with serious expressions.
