Three days later, Ao Bing finally returned to school. As soon as he stepped through the door, he eagerly asked, "How did the selection go? I’ve been thinking about it and wanted to call you, but the signal at Dragon Palace was terrible..."
Nezha excitedly hugged Ao Bing, "I did it! The coach was very pleased with my performance and invited me to the club headquarters next week for further testing! If all goes well, I can join the team right after graduation!"
Ao Bing genuinely felt happy for Nezha. "That's amazing! I knew you could do it! I'm so proud of you!"
Nezha couldn't wait to describe the selection process and his performance in detail. Ao Bing listened attentively, nodding and asking questions from time to time, his eyes filled with admiration and pride.
"By the way," Nezha suddenly remembered, "has everything settled down at Dragon Palace?"
At the mention of this, Ao Bing's expression became somewhat complex. "It's stabilized for now. We made some concessions, and humans accepted some of the restrictions. However, this is just the beginning; there’s still a long way to go."
Nezha keenly noticed Ao Bing's fatigue. "It seems like you haven't rested well these past few days."
Ao Bing shook his head. "The negotiation process was indeed exhausting, but the toughest part is behind us." He revealed a tired but satisfied smile. "The proposal for the Underwater Concert Hall has received preliminary approval. Now I need to start preparing a detailed implementation plan."
Nezha's eyes lit up. "Really? That's wonderful! Your musical dream is finally taking off!"
Ao Bing nodded and then took out an envelope from his bag. "I have more good news to share with you. My graduate school application has received preliminary recognition from the Central Conservatory of Music; they are very interested in my Dragon Clan Music Research project."
Nezha took the envelope in surprise. "Central Conservatory of Music? That's the top music institution in the country! Congratulations, Ao Bing! This means you can advance your Underwater Concert Hall project while completing your graduate studies."
Ao Bing smiled and nodded. "Yes, it's an ideal arrangement. However, I also need to work harder to balance my responsibilities at Dragon Palace with my personal studies and projects."
Seeing Ao Bing's tired yet determined expression filled Nezha with a sense of affection and admiration. He gently pulled Ao Bing into his embrace. "We're both fighting for our dreams and learning to balance responsibilities with ideals. Although the road is tough, having each other's support makes everything more meaningful."
Ao Bing leaned on Nezha's shoulder and softly said, "You're right. Sometimes I worry that our pursuit of dreams might lead us in different directions. Your career might take you all over the country for competitions while I have to shuttle between Dragon Palace and music school..."
Nezha gently stroked Ao Bing's back and firmly said, "Distance won't separate those who truly love each other. No matter where we are, our hearts will always be connected. Besides, we can plan together and try to coordinate our schedules."
Ao Bing lifted his head, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "You're right. We can create a long-term plan that combines our future visions."
Nezha nodded excitedly. "For example, my competition schedule is usually planned in advance; you can arrange your visits to Dragon Palace and Concert Hall based on my schedule. For important competitions, you can try to be there to support me; during my off-season or days without competitions, I can accompany you to Dragon Palace or participate in the Concert Hall project."
Ao Bing's eyes brightened up. "That's a great idea! We can create a shared calendar to keep each other updated on our arrangements and find time to be together."
The two became increasingly excited as they began discussing their plans for the next few years in detail. Ao Bing took out a notebook and diligently recorded various possibilities and ideas.
Nezha contributed some creative suggestions, such as using social media and video calls to stay connected or agreeing on specific days to meet by the seaside.
