Nezha fell into deep thought. If Shen Gongbao's words were true, then his future would be filled with infinite possibilities. But at the same time, such power also meant greater responsibility and risk.
"How should I use this power?" Nezha asked softly.
A glimmer of anticipation flashed in Shen Gongbao's eyes, as if he had been waiting for this question for a long time. "You can change this world, Nezha. Imagine using Demon Sphere Power to eliminate natural disasters, cure terminal illnesses, and even reshape social order... You could become the savior of humanity, not just a 'freak' who is discriminated against."
Nezha's heart trembled. The vision Shen Gongbao painted was indeed tempting—no longer feared and rejected by others, but respected and loved; no longer hiding his abilities, but using them openly to benefit others.
"It sounds wonderful," Nezha said cautiously, "but is it really that simple? I can't shake the feeling that there will be a price."
Shen Gongbao nodded appreciatively. "That's a smart question. Yes, there is a cost. Using the power of the Demon Orb will consume your life energy. The stronger the power, the greater the consumption. If not controlled properly, it could even lead to a backlash that harms you."
"So I need to learn how to control it?"
"Exactly," Shen Gongbao said, patting Nezha on the shoulder. "And I can be your mentor. I have studied Demon Sphere Power for hundreds of years and know its every secret. As long as you are willing, I can teach you how to safely unleash and master this power."
Nezha hesitated. Shen Gongbao's proposal was enticing, but his intuition told him that things were not so simple. There was still one crucial question unanswered... "You still haven't told me who the real enemy is."
Shen Gongbao's expression grew serious. "Taiyi Zhenren, or your Aunt Taiyi as you call her. She appears to be your protector but is actually limiting the awakening of your powers. Have you noticed that whenever you make a breakthrough in your abilities, she always finds some reason to hold you back?"
This accusation shocked Nezha deeply. Aunt Taiyi had always been the person he trusted most at school and a steadfast supporter of both him and Ao Bing. How could she possibly be an enemy?
"That's impossible," Nezha firmly denied. "Taiyi Senior has always been helping us."
"On the surface, yes," Shen Gongbao sneered, "but do you know her relationship with Primordial Origin? She is Primordial Origin's disciple and faithfully executes her master's will—controlling the Demon Orb to prevent it from awakening and even sealing it completely if necessary."
Nezha recalled how Aunt Taiyi often advised him to use his abilities cautiously and would calm him with special spells during emotional upheavals... Were these actions truly helping him or limiting him?
"What about Ao Bing?" Nezha suddenly asked. "Is he part of this conspiracy too?"
Shen Gongbao's gaze flickered for a moment. "Ao Bing... the situation is more complicated. He does care about you, but as the Dragon Prince, he must prioritize the interests of the Dragon Tribe. The Dragon Tribe has always been enemies with the Demon Orb; they are fundamentally incompatible. Once your powers fully awaken, it will inevitably affect the Dragon Tribe's dominance over the ocean. So in some ways, he does wish for your powers to be controlled."
This explanation seemed reasonable yet left Nezha feeling like his heart was being torn apart. Did Ao Bing really think this way? Their arguments and Ao Bing's insistence on him staying at school—was it out of protection or control?
"I don't believe it," Nezha shook his head. "Ao Bing isn't that kind of person."
