In the dead of night, Nezha stood by the window, clutching the blue crystal in his hand, filled with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he wanted to believe that Ao Bing would keep his promise; on the other hand, he had to face reality—perhaps Ao Bing truly could not return. 0

At that moment, the Crystal Pendant suddenly warmed slightly in his palm, emitting a faint blue light. Nezha looked down in surprise, noticing that the glow from the pendant was growing stronger, as if guiding him toward something. 0

“Ao Bing?” Nezha whispered, a flicker of hope rising within him. 0

He stepped out of the dormitory, following the direction indicated by the light. The campus was eerily quiet in the night, with only Nezha's footsteps echoing along the empty path. 0

The crystal's glow led him to the Center Lake Shore—where he and Ao Bing often strolled together. The lake's surface was as calm as a mirror, reflecting a sky full of stars. 0

Nezha stood at the water's edge, the light from the crystal intensifying to the point of almost burning his palm. Just as he felt lost and uncertain, ripples suddenly spread across the lake's surface, and a familiar figure slowly emerged from the water. 0

With blue hair and a delicate face, those distinctive blue eyes—it was Ao Bing! 0

“Ao Bing!” Nezha exclaimed in delight, hardly believing his eyes. “You’re back!” 0

Ao Bing stood on the surface of the lake, emanating a soft blue glow that resonated with the crystal in Nezha's hand. His attire was different from before; he wore a flowing white robe tied with a blue sash, looking both familiar and strange at once. 0

“Nezha,” Ao Bing’s voice remained as cool as Nezha remembered but carried an added weight of authority and weariness. “I have returned.” 0

Nezha wanted to rush forward and embrace him but was held back by an invisible force. It was then he noticed that Ao Bing’s form seemed semi-transparent, as if he were merely a projection. 0

“What… what happened to you?” Nezha asked in confusion, an ominous feeling rising within him. 0

Ao Bing sighed softly, "This is just a projection of myself. The real me is currently undergoing the final Inheritance Ceremony in the Dragon Palace." 0

"Projection?" Nezha repeated the word, not quite understanding its meaning. 0

"It's a power of the Dragon Tribe," Ao Bing explained. "It allows one to separate a part of their consciousness and energy to form a temporary projection. This is the only way I could think of to see you without defying my father's wishes." 0

Nezha's heart sank. "Does this mean... you can't truly come back?" 0

A deep sense of regret and reluctance shone in Ao Bing's eyes. "I tried to negotiate with my father, hoping to officially take on the role of Dragon King after completing my studies. But the situation within the Dragon Tribe is more dire than I imagined, and my strength is crucial for stabilizing it. My father... won't allow me to return." 0

This answer was like a bucket of ice water, extinguishing the last flicker of hope in Nezha's heart. His voice trembled, "So, this is... goodbye?" 0

"Yes," Ao Bing said softly, pain glimmering in his eyes. "I came to say goodbye in person, rather than leaving behind a cold letter. You deserve a better farewell." 0

Nezha clenched his fists, a surge of intense unwillingness rising within him. "No, I won't accept this ending! If you can't come back, then I'll come find you! Even if it's in the Dragon Palace, even if it's another world, I will go!" 0
